I am pretty underwhelmed with the upcoming scrapbooking releases based on what I have seen online so far. Due to a snowy weather, I spent this weekend scrapbooking. I decided to shop my stash for some older papers to use for my layouts. Oh, my goodness! I discovered Allison Kreft collections for Webster’s Pages, beautiful papers from Kate and Co from MME, specialty papers from WeR and Studio Calico from a few years back. I decided that I will not need new papers this spring and only buy the embellishments. Anybody else can relate? I don’t sub to any scrapbooking clubs so using my old stash with whatever I got recently is my 2018 goal.

Me too!!! It's great to remember what great stuff we have, isn't it?

I don't really like any of the new releases either. I have several kits from SC subbing days plus I still get my Cocoa Daisy sub and that's all I'll be using for scrapping this year. I've decided I want to spend any spare crafty budget on this fabulous felt ornaments that binkiemonstermom shared on another thread!

I was just doing this last night, and I'm continuing today. I didn't remember many of the papers I have. Time to go through them again to refresh my memory.

I am totally with you. I have SO many wonderful kits and all-around scrappy goodness that I have no business shopping for a long time! I need to be thankful for my plentiful stash and use it up!

I am going to keep up with my Ali Edwards kits, but I am pretty much not buying anything else due to my abundant room of supplies. I am late to the game on nuvo drops and may get a few more colors of those.

Just yesterday I found a sheet of old Webster's Pages patterned paper that was perfect for the cards I was making. AND I USED IT!!! That felt good! Now I need to do it more often.

Yes! I do this all the time--over half of my scrapbooking. I love so much of my old stuff, often I am missing some embellishments so I buy things to go with the older papers (I either used too many of the embelishments already, or bought less back then). But it is so fun--a DIY kit!

What a great thing to realize! All those beautiful papers just waiting to be loved! It's not specific to scrapbooking or crafting, but this blog post really hit home for me and inspired my OLW to be "deep." What you're talking about here really reminded me of this idea. www.raptitude.com/2017/12/go-deeper-not-wider/TL,DR: what if we engaged in a Depth Year (he thinks of it as a rite of passage) where we don't get anything new beyond the necessities, but instead drilled down deeper into all the things we already have and already do? What if we took the time and persistence to keep working at something even after it got difficult or boring instead of switching to a new hobby? What if we read all the books we already own, and (my addition) used all the craft supplies we bought in the past? What could we gain from that? From not chasing after the new thing? (but I didn't say it as well as he did - and honestly, deep is a real struggle for me, which is why I'm working on it in 2018. I can't imagine devoting myself to anything completely and wholeheartedly.)

I have been pulling pictures and making page kits for them. I am adding paper, letters, embellishments and cardstock. It is fun to look through the paper again.

I had to take a job that pays a third less than my previous one, so this year I've decided to not buy things that I don't need. No casual buying. It's been interesting. It makes me think before I buy, and question why I'm buying. I haven't regretted not buying anything yet.

I plan on hitting my stash big time in the coming months, especially the paper. I did sea a couple of lines I liked in the new releases and may buy a few pages but that’s about it. My biggest expense will be printing pictures.

Yes! I am glad that a lot of you have a goal to use oldies but goodies. Using “old” stash feels good. I downsized my stash in the last few years as I used to buy so much stuff from each release (2010-2014) because back at those days it was hard to choose. Everything looked unique and there was a lot more variety in comparison to what we have today. Also we had 3 local stores that are now closed:( I use a lot of embellishments and always need more of those but I am picky on what I get. I subbed to a new Ali kit that is themed so I will try to use it as I go.

I rarely buy new releases. I prefer to buy older, clearanced items that I know I will use. I have two definite lines I want to get, but that's all.

I'm also largely underwhelmed by the latest releases and have been enjoying digging into my stash to find the perfect thing for my pages.

There were a couple of things that caught my eye when I was checking out the new releases but I can't think of a single one right now. So, I'd say I was underwhelmed as well. I have plenty in my stash to last me a while. I even have my last paper issues order set aside for that day when I want to work with something new. Even though it's been sitting there for months, I haven't picked over it like everything else in my stash.

I just joined a Facebook group called Bash your Stash. I am determined to use up lots of my old stuff, which I still love. I have hoarded lots of favourite paper but am getting better at just using it for a layout rather than it sitting on the shelf! I also have lots of 6 x6 pads that I would like to use at least once. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) I am really enjoying seeing a regular selection of everyday layouts from people in the same situation. I think a lot of them are aiming for 365 layouts for the year. I have completed 20 so far so I think I am doing well. Of course I am on holidays so expect that number to drop next month. I did manage 166 last year so my aim is to at least make that goal. I'm also going to be a bit brave and upload some of the my layouts there too! Corinne

Add me in the 'underwhelmed' category. The only lines I plan on purchasing any of (and not whole lines) is Crate Papers travel line and Maggie Holmes. Everything else is just ok and not a need to have.

I find I am drawn to specific colors/patterns and not lines or even the age of the paper. Although I have gotten rid of all of my really old paper that was thin or had antiquated patterns. I do like the new pet lines this year (making a puppy album). I have also liked the winter lines that are blues and greens. I find I go on a feeling that the paper gives me. I could shop my stash for the next 300 layouts and still have plenty.
