My ds wants a class ring. We would like him to have one but he can easily misplace things. His school has Balfour info sent home but I wanted to ask the peas. Just trying to see if there are other great companies and any other options that peas have used and were happy with. TIA

Bought a very expensive one for my son from Balfour. Regretted it almost as soon as I paid for it. My friend got his son one from Walmart and paid a lot less for it! I will probably go that route with my younger two kids. You can't tell the difference at all. My son never wears his ring.

We bought DS's ring from Walmart and there's not much difference from the Josten's rings his friends ordered.

We bought DS's ring from Walmart and there's not much difference from the Josten's rings his friends ordered. I didn't get a traditional class ring, I got one that looked a little more like everyday jewelry (from Jostens), and I am quite sure that I saw a nearly identical version at Walmart, even today.

DD's ring came from Balfour - and really the only problem I have with them is the fact that they don't send you anything telling you when the ring will be delivered and how much you still owe. They gave DD a half sheet of paper with some info with her balance written up in the corner. Luckily, DD was always good about giving me things. If DS wants a ring, I'll be lucky to find that piece of paper.
Their ring was a custom-designed ring for their class. Not sure if that was a one-time thing or not. We'll see what happens when I get info for DS next year.
I will say that Balfour resized the ring under warranty a year after we received it because it never fit DD correctly. Of course, it took her 6 months to tell me that. But she does now wear it every day.

We went with Jostens, the company our school was using. They were pricey, but they had the design that we wanted, plus they had some of the clubs/groups that the Wal-Mart site didn't offer when we ordered (he was in FBLA). Plus, I couldn't see what the ring would like before I bought it. On the Josten's site, it shows you exactly what your ring will look like before you buy and there was a payment program. He got it fairly early, so he was able to wear it most of the year. He didn't take it up to his dorm when he moved up, I didn't want him to lose it. Besides, now I get to wear it on game days!

My class ring was from Balfour. No complaints here but I will say for the price I paid I could have gotten something much more original...not so cookie cutter. That's the one regret I had.
Even if your son is wanting a regular class ring I would recommend another place just because you will find a better price on them.
Are you planning on getting the other grad stuff there?

The local jewelry store was far less expensive than the one the school sent information for. We got one made by ArtCarved and DS lost the stone out and they replaced it free of charge. They have a lifetime guarantee on their rings.

We bought an expensive class ring at Balfour for my DS his junior year and then he changed high schools. I was not happy and as I went to go try to sell it (he just had school emblems on it), I found that Balfour would take it back and completely change the school name around the stone and side emblems at no cost. For that I was thankful that I went with Balfour's. Keep your receipt.
