I hope it lasts. I really enjoyed reading the advice, the hairflips, and the funny stories. Maybe because it's not tied to the success of a store it can stand on it's own. I was at 2peas for 10 years and still felt like a new kid! I'll try to participate more. I really grew to care about you ladies!

Hard to say, but with about 4000 posts in its first 24 hours, I'd say there's a good possibility it will survive.
I'm optimistic.

I hope so! I'm not an active participant but do like to read the boards and put my two cents in on occasion

I certainly hope so! I learned so much from threads on 2Peas, and laughed until I cried, and was greatly entertained. I also loved reading intelligent, thoughtful posts from many peas.
I keep reading posts of all kinds here, looking for names and feeling happy every time I see another one that I "know" and was hoping to see again.

I'd be surprised if it lasts. I'll give it three months to slow down, then the mid term elections will ramp it up for awhile, then it will go back to being agonizing slow with the same posts on the first two pages.

I'm hopeful that it will. One good thing that has come out of this is that many of the lurkers (like myself) have been more active. I can't speak for them, but I feel like losing the pod has made me realize just how much a part of my daily life all of the people on this board are. I mean, it sounds silly, but NSBR was where I went to keep my finger on the pulse of current events. And yes, there were trolls and nastiness, but there was also a diverse group of people who brought different points of view to everything from current world events to diva cups...it was refreshing to get out of my "own little world" and see some different perspectives. I'm hoping that many of the previous lurkers will jump in and be more active...I plan to.

I was so very happy to find this board; I don't know what I would have done without you all. :-) I was a long-time lurker at 2Peas, but will come out of lurkdom to keep this board going. Hopefully if people are looking for a new place to go they'll search for 2Peas and this will pop up in a search.

I found out from a Facebook Pea-friend. Glad to see so many familiar faces.
But, on a darker note, are you all who you say you are? Or did some of you steal someone else's identity? I guess we'll see who the troublemakers are ...

I'll be here daily like I was at 2 Peas. No reason not to unless it does slow down but who knows what the future brings. I do know our Facebook group for the swap board has accumulated quite a few of us and it is like a family as a pp posted. Here's hoping this grows as well.

Hmmmm. Some of these responses are really making me think. If we need to have a constant influx of new members to keep things going, maybe that is an argument for some special topic boards in addition to the scrapping board. People would find the topical boards and then would find this board as well and be drawn in.

The death of the photography board made a difference, that's for sure.

I have been around for almost a decade, and like with most things, my posting habits have ebbed and flowed with my life. Losing 2peas has made me realize that I need to make more of an effort to post if this new board is to succeed. Lurking only will slow things down and then it starts a downward spiral. So if you like the board, post comments! Love NSBR! Melissa

I hope it lasts. I guess it took 2Peas closing for me to realize just how many people I had come to "know". It was a huge caring, and often dysfunctional family. I learned so much and came to know so many viewpoints that contributed to what I hope is a better world view.
One thing that concerned me was the almost complete polarization in many threads. Controversial topics became fights. Same people, same opinions. What I missed were the days when I would feel comfortable contributing to difficult topics and keeping my mind open to other opinions. It just didn't feel "safe" to do that anymore. I hope that we could get that back.

I hope so! I also hope the diversity continues, although I could do with out the trolls and bashers.
I found NSBR a good place to ask for advice, to have the occasional vent validated, to read about current events around the country and so on. The large member base made it a place where you could ask questions and others had Been There Done That! We are able to celebrate small victories in our lives and the large ones, in ways that sometimes you can't do IRL. Asking questions about size of homes or whether you had a housekeeper and why aren't questions I ask of those around me necessarily, but it is interesting to read here. Cultural differences across not only the US but our international Peas was also an interesting read!
Glad to have found this place to hang out when I am too tired to craft!

I'm another who has come out of lurkdom because I realize how much the NSBR board means to me. I've learned so much--on many, many topics--and I've been royally entertained in the process. At 2 Peas, I never registered as a member because I felt that, although I had made a couple of family history scrapbooks, I wasn't very artistic and therefore didn't really belong. Also, I felt that it was kinda tough to break into the crowd of long-timers. This new beginning gives lurkers like me a chance to join in and, hopefully, make contributions. I see this as an opportunity for members, old and new, to revitalize the board and keep it stimulating. If it stays as fast-moving and interesting as it used to be, it will surely attract new members.

I hope it stays around, I paid $3 for the mobile app!
Seriously, I almost cried when I got the notice yesterday. NSBR board was a very special place for me even though I didn't post much, I read it everyday, most times multiple times a day. I can't tell you how many times I would start out telling my husband "today on the message board ..."
I just read through all 5 pages of the thread "tell us about yourself" and was shocked how the majority of the posts stated they were mostly lurkers. This board needs all those lurkers (myself included) to become active if it's going to succeed.

The timing of this is funny (not funny ha-ha) for me. I have always been pretty thick skinned and practical about online presence and don't get my feelings hurt by strangers online. However, something about the posts in the aftermath of the school shooting that was local to me a few weeks ago just pushed me over the edge and I'd decided that I was pretty well done with Two Peas. I'd only posted maybe 5 times in the last two weeks, which was the least I'd ever posted in my 11 years there (except when on vacation). And those were strictly informational answers of questions, no discussion or opinion about anything. But then when I was presented with it actually being gone for good, I found that completely unacceptable LOL. So here I am. Though I've only ever met a couple peas offline and only one is an IRL friend, I do value the online relationships I've developed over the years and realized I would be sad to lose them. And I REALLY REALLY needed input on good lunch boxes for my son at school. WHERE WOULD I GET THAT WITHOUT TWO PEAS?! All that's a way to say that I too recognize value in the community that's been built over the years and will be an active participant here to do my part to keep it going.

One advantage that we have over other spin-off boards in the past is that the original TwoPeas is truly gone. Before, when there was a spin-off, either due to nastiness, or some new moderator rules, or whatever, people would drift off, but they almost always came back to the Mothership, so to speak. Now that it's gone, there's no where else to turn and people will stay (and possibly bring a few friends.)

I'm curious is someone running this place? Like the board belongs to a moderator? Is someone paying for this board?
