Good morning Pokeys, scrapincin, enjoy your sunshine and feel healthy again! I want one of those sandwiches. grammadee, I don't need to tell you to have a great time because I can see you know how to. Congrats on your standings in Calvinball LisaDV, so glad you were able to go to your crop this weekend. You work so hard. I'm glad you had some "me time." DD needs a ride back to college today, so that means that on the way home I'll get to stop off at M's and J's. I haven't had much luck at either of those stores lately, but I'll still go in and poke around. I just placed my first order at an online scrapbook store (late to the game,) so I shouldn't be spending more anyway. I'm looking forward to Tuesday - I'm hoping to finally get a page done. Waving hi to all the other Pokeys and wishing you all good health!

scrapincin, that's good that it's not your copd. I hope your medicine gets you all better. Your cards are adorable! I especially love the textured front card, although I'm also a sucker for anything butterfly or hummingbird. grammadee, glad you arrived safe and are having fun. msliz, I often find long bouts of nothing to buy at J's and M's too. It never stops me from going in and looking though. I hope something good catches your eye. I had a good time at my crop. I finished 27 pages or almost finished 27 pages. There are a few that still need journaling and a few finishing touches. I did better on the shorter day (Friday evening) than the 13 hour day, although I worked steadily the whole time. I think next time I will be better prepared too. There will be a next time, I signed up for a crop in mid-May. They had one in April but it's on Don & my anniversary weekend, so I thought better of signing up for it. I came home and was unwinding from the day and ended up staying up way too late. I started (re)watching the BBC Sherlock on Netflix. I fell asleep while watching probably around 5:00am, woke at 6:00 with the show still going. So I turned it off and went to bed. So I'm a bit draggy today. I hope everyone is have a fantastic Sunday with lots of sunshine.

Well I told grammadee yesterday I would have a layout done today and I am here to keep my word. I did not add a lot of embellishments as the shaped paper has flourishes and birds on it. winter sunrise by Cindy Blair, on Flickr

Wish I had the patience for hand stitching!! grammadee - the beach photos are breathtaking!! kellyr21 - your cards are so beautiful and artistic, completely stunning!! justjac - loved the story - loved the colors!!

Happy Monday! Whew, I am pooped out today. My dh's birthday was yesterday and we had a nice time celebrating. We shopped, got BBQ from Lucille's and had cake. I bought him a birthday card for the first time in ages. I usually make them but this year just not in the mood. So thank you Hallmark for having a beautiful card for him. Today, his job took him out to his favorite restaurant and spoiled him. Love that! So he is having a very nice time in his new year.
This week I hope to do some art, and make scrap a little. I have some pictures from his bday and other occasions. You ladies have been scrapping away and maybe I feel my mojo coming back.
scrapincin - Girl, you are rocking those cards! How pretty!
grammadee - Glad you made it to you destination safely and having a good time. Your dgs sounds like an awesome player. Go team!!!
LisaDV - OMG, you finished all those pages!!! That is so great! I have never been to a crop and if I did go I would be snacking and talking more than scrappin. LOL! Glad you had fun and even glad you fell asleep watching Netflix. So cool!
woodysbetty - Taking pictures of treasured items is a great idea. See how resourceful you are. Thanks for the complement on my cards. I love making them whether my own or from a kit.
msliz- Did you find anything at M's or J's? I was at M's this past weekend. I didn't buy anything but just enjoyed seeing all the Spring things. Oh, they had these totally cute flower watering cans with a gingham pastel print. I could see a bouquet of flowers put in there for a great gift.
Waving hi to everyone and have a good day.

I don't know why I have such a hard time getting here. I guess doing nothing but scrapping for a month left me way behind. LOL scrapincin, I am so glad to know that your cough is not related to your COPD. I hope the steroids help with the allergies. Mine are bad right now and I'm not sure why. Do you know what you are allergic to? Best wishes for feeling better and taming down that cough. Take care of yourself. I love your scrapbook page and those beautiful cards. More for me to scraplift. I left a note on your blog and will leave love in the gallery. grammadee, so glad you made it safely and got to watch your DGS play. Congrats to him. You are much braver for long drives than I am. I hope you have a wonderful time. LisaDV, I can't imagine finishing 27 pages in a weekend. So glad you got to go and get away from all the home duties for a couple of days. Had to laugh about falling asleep in front of the TV. That's DH's normal experience. I usually go wake him to come to bed. Take it easy and catch up slowly. woodysbetty, I love the page about the older model technology. I have an old TV with VCR built in in my scraproom. I rescued it from my son who was going to junk it. I have saved a bunch of fun "chick flick" movies that I can put in while I scrap. They are the oldies. We have already retired and plan to stay right here.....so I feel sorry for my kids who will have to do all the things you are doing now...someday. I love your cards. I have that same flower and punch, so want to scraplift! kellyr21, it sounds like Ron had a great birthday. I hope the rest of 2018 is good for both of you. Let us know what art work you are going to work on this week. msliz, I hope your trip to and from college went well. Did you find anything at M's or J's? I wandered in Michaels one day last week, but only bought a water brush. I hope you found something fun. @elaynef, are you all caught up after being gone with your daughter? I hope you are finding some time to do something crafty. justjac, I am sure you are working hard on CB. Could you give me a link to CB so I can look around at our friends who are involved? I finished a couple of layouts. I will scan and post them tonight. Have a great week, Pokeys.

Hello Pokeys. I am back at home. The drive was uneventful: a few fog patches at the beginning, but the rest of the way was clear and easy driving. Stopped to print photos, and stopped at one LSS in Edmonton, got a silhouette matt, their March kit, and some Minc foils, but they don't carry my brand of glue refills. Didn't have the energy to drive around town looking for the refills at other stores, and hadn't done my homework by checking on line, so I will have to make do with what I have here (2 sided tape, the end of a refill, and a full refill that doesn't roll out properly but which I am sure I can use if I dispense it manually).
Will read your posts and check out your creations tomorrow. I tried to watch a little TV but was falling asleep, so I think I just need to crawl into bed.

nylene gorgeous pages. I love the blue hair one especially, partially because I am currently sporting a couple of purple streaks of my own. Here is the link to the Calvinball gallery. grammadee I'm glad you're home safe and sound. LSS is out of adhesive refills because of us I suspect. Weightwatchers is working for me. I have lost 7 pounds and weigh in again tomorrow. woodysbetty my sister and I are going to try and document some stories of items from my Grandma's house that are currently living at my aunt's. We're hoping to get my mom and aunt to tell us stories and to take photos. kellyr21 happy birthday to your DH! Have fun creating this week. scrapincin you are on a roll with all your beautiful cards. LisaDV you are not pokey at all! Congrats on all your layouts. I have a cold and I'm out of sorts. I took half a day off yesterday and might have taken today off as well, but we're have a chili and bannock sale and I volunteered to make the chili. Since I'm sick, I didn't walk with my friend this morning and I probably won't tomorrow either. I did make a few things on the weekend, but I am near the bottom of the Calvinball leader board. justjac , congratulations on your weight loss! and it's still early in the year, so you have lots of good weather ahead of you so you can keep at it! Hope you kick that cold soon. grammadee , hope you had a good night's sleep in your own bed. It would wear me out traveling as much as you do, but I know the g-kids make it worth it. kellyr21 and nylene , I bombed out at J's. I got there too close to closing time to come up with something to spend the 40% off on, and I left without buying anything. I hit M's before that, and I spent $2 on 14 sheets of paper, and I used my 50% off on ATG tape. So, nothing terribly exciting or big budget, but it was a clean store and it was a nice little break in my day. nylene, the hair on that girl ! What great photos Hoping you all get some scrapping time in this week. Looks like tomorrow will be a snow day for me, so I ran some extra errands this morning and I'm postponing some other ones for later in the week. I won't have to step foot out of the house. When I wake up tomorrow, it's craft time!

Well, I think I am caught up with comments in the 2Peas Gallery and over at Calvinball. Lots of crafters have been VERY busy! I hope to get a few pages done tomorrow. Have my papers chosen and a title block made. kellyr21 and msliz, I hope you get some play time this week, too. Was hoping to do a simple page today, but every step just felt like WORK, so I put it all aside. If it is going to FEEL like work, it should actually BE work, so I did laundry and a bit of house cleaning instead. I love the idea of documenting your loved possessions on scrapbook pages, woodysbetty. Not sure if that would make me feel better or worse. Twenty seven pages is an awesome accomplishment at your first crop, LisaDV. And a good time, too? No wonder you are registered for another one. Looking forward to seeing some of those pages. Good to see that 28-4-28 didn't burn you out completely, nylene: love your pages. Glad you are feeling a bit better, scrapincin. Love your sunrise page. That is MY kind of scrapbooking: see it, snap it, put it on a page! Loving all the purple in your creations, justjac. Way to celebrate the colour of the year! I hadn't used alcohol inks for awhile until last week, and now I want to play with them again. And congrats on your weight loss. Hope you feel better and can get out and walk again, soon. Received a lovely St Patricks Day card from maribeth. Thank you! Okay, off to take the last load out of the dryer and then settle down with a book. BBL

scrapincin , cute layout. You're right you don't need a lot of embellishment with cute paper like that. woodysbetty , your cards are beautiful. Your layout is fantastic. I love the colors and the big acetate clock in the background repeating your theme. Wonderful page. kellyr21 , happy belated birthday to Ron. Did you get time to play the other day? I was never much for crops, as I like having my stuff. I've maybe been to 4 before this. The last one being in 2005 or 2006. Then all the LSS went away and there were no crops. Now that Don can't take the kids away for a few hours outing as dd doesn't travel well, I had to search out one if I wanted any time to myself. I think I'm going to sign up for a retreat too. nylene , I love Alyssa's page and I love her hair all red or tipped in blue. That's a gorgeous blue too. I've been telling Don that I want to dye my hair with a streak or two of color. I was always too shy and conservative in my youth to do it even though I wanted to. As I get older, I find I care less what others think. Also there is a beautiful young lady at our church who always seems to have different shades in her hair that is so pretty. The mom also occasionally will have a streak of color. My dd has some spray in that washes out. grammadee , I'm glad you are home and safe and had a good time. justjac , your card backgrounds are beautiful, but I think that the "I love you more than chocolate" saying wouldn't make it onto a card in my house. No one would believe it. lol. I like your parade pages, but love that you send Dean photos of things he'd like. So sweet. msliz, sorry you bombed out at the stores. I hope you are staying warm in that Nor'easter. I hope you had a great day of crafting! On Sunday's draggy day, we ended up starting a movie very late. I had to be up at 5am Monday to drop the doggies at the vet for their annual teeth cleaning. I hate that they have to go under anesthesia every year for it. It makes me nervous. I ran errands until I could finally pick them up around 12:30. They were groggy and out of it all that day. I thought they were yesterday too until we went outside and they were running around chasing each other and playing. My new theory is that they were milking the attention inside, hoping I'd make them scrambled eggs again. I always make them scrambled eggs as I think it's easier on their bellies after anesthesia. I ended up laying down at 4:30pm, just going to lay down not nap. Fell asleep and slept until 7:30pm. I'm not really a napper, so I was definitely needing the extra sleep. Yesterday, I didn't feel tired, but I didn't get a whole lot accomplished either. I did finish a double page layout which completes my Christmas 2017 pages though. Today, I'm hoping to make a dent in this weeks to do list. I also want to have my desk and craft things put away by Thursday evening so that on Friday I can enlist Don and kids into helping me finish the journaling on the few pages that are left. I needed their help which is why the pages didn't get finished at the crop. Off I go to get something done. I hope everyone else, has shorter to-do lists or at least only fun things on their to do lists. Have a fantastic Wednesday!

Hope you are all rested up now, LisaDV. You have had a busy few days. Had my head in the creative game today. Got 3 pages done this morning. One of the perks of spending a few days with the kids is that I often get some one-on-one time with a dgk. This past weekend, the 4 year old and I had quite a bit of quality time. He came with me to meet up with his cousins one day, and the next I drove him to hockey. He is full of stories and definite views of the world, and can be wild one moment and gentle the next. These three pages all feature him. April 19 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Get sweaty 1 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Get Sweaty by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Hi, Pokeys! Thanks, justjac for the link to the CB gallery. I have had fun looking through it. You guys are scrapping addicts! I love it. LisaDV, it sounds like you have been burning the candle at both ends. No wonder you fell asleep. I hope you are now well rested. Did you end up getting piggies? grammadee, your visit with the grands sounds wonderful. I'm glad you are home safe and sound. I agree that if scrapbooking feels like work, it's not worth it. Without this hobby I think I'd need therapy. Your pages of your little cutie are great. I left love in the gallery. scrapincin, thanks for your comments at SB.com. Don't feel obligated. I am posting a few that I wanted Angie to be able to see. I wanted to tell you that I really was freaked out when Lyssie dyed her hair. Her mom took her to a salon to have it done. I just couldn't imagine changing the color of her beautiful hair. Her mom said it's just hair and will grow out and it can only be for summer because of school rules. I did get used to it and liked it. BTW, I found the Blow dryer, comb and scissors cut file in the Silhouette Design store. We had snow over the weekend but it looks like Spring today. We are expecting snow again on the weekend. I am ready for SPRING! Have a great week! I'll be back later to chat.

I was watching Jen Schow on youtube..she had a suggestion to pick out something and use it or lose it from your stash. She did a great layout using buttons in a circle in rainbow order to help her decide if buttons should stay in her stash. So I followed her suggestion, a lot more randomly and trying to not obsess, I just used the buttons that were on my desk. Whatever was there got stuck down...I had no idea what I was going to use the page for, I just wanted to see if I could do "random". Then that crazy Nor'easter hit and the pics from that seemed appropriate because the pics were random too. It felt great to use up stuff, fun not to worry about perfection, and interesting trying to make it all work. There may be hope that my stash will dwindle...and I think I can safely let go of buttons now!!

Hello everybody! Just checking in and update on my situation! Saw the allergist this morning. He decided my allergy med was not working for me anymore. He changed some of my meds, and added an antibiotic due to what he was hearing in my lungs. Also thinks I have some bronchitis. So we will make the changes and see how it goes. It was fun to get to see some of the people I worked with. There are only 5 left everyone else is new. woodysbetty loving that page. I love how you used buttons making a great border. I visited a museum not long ago of trains with moving parts. The gentleman's wife collected buttons and then made pictures and designs with and everyone was sewed on! nylene- Loved seeing all of your layouts! You do such good journaling! grammadee- Those pages you did about your dgs he's so cute! will leave you some love fir the new ones you have added! ok gonna get off and hopefully will post something

This challenge inspires me to actually get things done, so thank you so very much!! grammadee your little hockey stars are adorable!! scrapincin the pinks on your page are just stunning as is that photo..., so glad the Doc is fxing you up and you got a visit in as well!! Happy Friday Eve! grammadee, Your dgs is adorable and your pages showcase him perfectly. nylene, I'm ready for spring too. Although we've been snow free for over 2 weeks, we still have snow on the ground in spots. We haven't gotten piggies yet, I'm still trying to convince Don. He now has the idea to build out a movable chicken run and put that in the back garden as the chickens will take the grass off the ground. So I may be fighting a losing battle. woodysbetty, I LOVE your page. It's so fun. scrapincin, I hope the new meds work and glad you got a visit in. Yuck to bronchitis. I hope the antibiotics clears it away lickety split. I'm 20 layouts short of my CB goal. I'm hoping to get at least a couple of half days sometime this week to work on getting more finished. Otherwise life is just rolling along in my neck of the woods. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

Happy weekend! It is supposed to be officially spring, but we had a snowfall warning for today. Didn't add up to much here, but enough to cause quite a bit of drifting because the winds were so strong. Hope justjac got to work and home safely. LisaDV, you are burning up the road in Calvinball! Awesome progress toward your goal! Quite a few of the neighbours around here are getting sheep this spring: they are GREAT lawnmowers! woodysbetty, I love how you used all those buttons! I have a lot of them hanging around here. This makes me want to put some of them to work! Hope the new meds have you feeling a bit better, scrapincin. Thanks for all the positive comments in the Gallery. We went to dh's Seniors' Club for a pancake supper and card games last night, but today and the rest of the weekend looks pretty quiet. I finished a couple of pages today, and hope to get two more done this weekend. Then I need to get to work on some other things around here, and maybe get started on my tax paperwork.

Good Sunday evening, Pokeys. Hope you all had a restful weekend. The snow storm didn't really deliver what was threatened, and it has been melting for the last couple of days, so maybe spring will actually arrive. Still a couple of feet of snow in the yard, but maybe... I have been playing with a new set of paints I picked up last week: Prima Opal Magic paints. I have one set: three colours. They are a pearlescent creamy paint that takes on different colours on different surfaces. I prefer how they look on plain white cardstock. Yesterday I used them on a piece of scrap cs, then used the cs to create a couple of cards: garland greeting by Gramma Dee, on Flickr birdie greeting by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Today I used them again on a page for stinkerbelle's challenge to spell CALVINBALL. I like the way the pattern shows through the swipes of paint. time with Dad 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Hope you get to finish those pages you had planned, LisaDV. I see that justjac has been busy scrapping this weekend as well. This next week I have some non crafty things to do, so I don't think I will be creating much for a little while. The only points I will be getting will be for commenting on other people's creations. I had started cleaning up my scraproom yesterday morning, but I don't think it looks much better. The problem is that I keep finding stuff I would rather play with than put away...

scrapincin, how have you done on the antibiotics? Are you getting rid of the cough yet? I hope this helps and you can be cured! I am still working on birthday cards for my friend. My problem is that after making a card I think, why not make 8 more and have them done for card club. I am now ahead by 5 months of cards. LOL woodysbetty, that is a great layout. I love the use of a variety of patterned paper circles. I love the title and journaling on more big circles. Very clever. You are really using up your stash. Great idea. grammadee, justjac, LisaDV, and maribeth, I read through the CB rules and was totally confused. You guys are die-hard scrappers, that's for sure. @elaynef and msliz, are you involved in CB too? kellyr21, I hope you are getting nicer weather than we are. It looks like you are getting lots of rain. We are getting one little snow storm after another. Our plans have changed and Ashley's surgery has been postponed, so we are heading to CA this weekend over Spring Break. With the snow we are getting we may have to chain up to go over Donner's Pass, but we have done that before. It will just be Em and her kids and me. DH is going to stay here, and Em's DH will keep him company. I look forward to seeing the CA grands and the beautiful palm trees. I will check in before I leave and start the April thread a couple of days early.

grammadee, WOW! Those cards are gorgeous. I just bought Nuvo drops last month because of you and kiwigirl. Now, you're showing off these gorgeous colors. woodysbetty, I love how you used circles to reinforce the eclipse theme and how the colors pop against the black. nylene, I'm so glad you'll be going to see the CA grands. I know you were saddened by the idea of not going. I hope you have great weather for the travel and the stay. scrapincin, how's the new meds and antibiotics working out? I finally got my washer/dryer ordered. Don was suppose to do it a couple of weeks ago. With his Home Depot card he had a free financing thing. Well, when he went he forgot the free financing ticket and his card was saying it wasn't activated. So he left with just the tile for the area. Today, he made me go with him, but it's all done and will be delivered April 6th. The plus side is it was 10% off this week. Don also had a meeting cancel the first week of April which means he has 2 extra days to get the tiling down. We also picked up a new bathroom faucet, as DS came up last night after we were in bed and said the faucet broke spraying water everywhere in the bathroom. He cleaned it up, but now Don and DS have that to do this evening. I will be cleaning the area, mudding at the ceiling wall joint (as our first contractor didn't do that), then painting this week. I'm just doing the little 4'x 4' nook though and not the whole hall. All that to say I may not reach my CB goal. Of course, sometimes, I get more done when I'm really busy as I need the break, so only time will tell. I hope everyone has a great week. Waving hi to kellyr21, msliz, justjac, @elaynef, and maribeth.

Here's an update on my health. We have come to the conclusion that I have a sinus infection and bronchitis. They put me om an antibiotic but it was hard on my stomach. So we changed it today. I LOVE that page using the circles, woodysbetty ! They go perfectly with your eclipse theme, but I might have to lift this for some other topic. What a cool idea to use up some of the smaller scraps! I spent the day doing organizing in various parts of the house. Got a bit done in here, some in the bedroom, and some in the basement. I didn't finish any of the projects I started, but I didn't leave any of those places in a bigger mess than they started, so I guess it was not a total fail. Of course since I had decided NOT to scrap today, my mind is full of ideas for pages and cards. I did set up a couple of design screens on Silhouette for some pages I want to make next month. No idea about colour yet, so I didn't cut anything, but I guess having it planned out is a start. Thanks for the love in the 2Peas Gallery and over at GIS. nylene , the Calvinball rules are easy to understand once your realize that you can apply none, one, many, or ALL of them to any project. The more that apply, the higher the point value! I have them printed off and read them over quickly before starting a set of pages or cards. Sometimes I have a plan for how to get points, but most of the time I just go ahead and scrap and then maybe add some details later to add on points. It helps that the participants can suggest rules, so once I got them to accept torn edges and letter stickers, I was good for at least 2 extra points for most pages. scrapincin , I hope the new meds will help whatever it is that ails you. Be sure to get some rest. Glad your dgk's are enjoying their trip. And I am glad you are going on a road trip to see your California dgk's, nylene . And glad your dh has some company at home if he is not able to go. LisaDV , you are always so BUSY!!! I can't imagine taking on all that you do. BTW, is anyone else interested in signing up for stinkerbelle's TEAM challenge for April? Just a way to create a few pages, have some fun and some friendly competition. Not sure of all the rules yet, but we will be starting with the usual monthly challenges, with a few extras thrown in.
