Wow, super fast shipping. I ordered this on the 11th, they shipped on the 12th, and received it today, 13th. But then again they are in Montana and that is just a stone's throw from me in MN. I know this isn't a Christmas set, but those are on my list. I wanted to get 1 set for now to try.

I ordered from Hello Bluebird again. A Christmas set and a fall set. The best thing about having orders sent to my work is I can get my hands on them right away. The bad thing about having orders set to my work is I can get my hands on them right away, but can't play until I get home. LOL

Thanks for posting about Hello Bluebird... they have cute stuff! It's going to be between 102-108 degrees for the next 10 days here in Northern California so I may start my cards early. I usually don't start until a few weeks before Christmas. I only send out about 20 or so but I am going to start early this year to avoid the freak out because I waited until the last minute!

The only thing I colored was the critters. The paper is from Hobby Lobby. Must be my lighting (Ott desk lamp). I didn't add anything to the leaves.

Sunday afternoon I made 39 Christmas cards. I used up a whole 6x6 paper pad. That's fantastic! I love turning a paper pad into a big stack of cards. (note to self: I really need to do that again sometime soon.) Love the big scripty joyful You don't need much more when you have such lovely sentiments. The other day I put all of my cards I've made so far into a box, tucked it away until its time to sort them and send them to the caring hearts card drive. I think I had 110 or so done, but the box looks very empty, so I want to keep going. It's fun trying out different ideas and seeing which ones I enjoy making. I think I have some designs I haven't shared here yet. I'll have to look back and see. I recently finished some cute snowmen and bears peeking out from frame die cuts that I think will be fun to make more of.

joblackford Those are beautiful!! So elegant. Great job. Aw, thanks I think that bold scripty sentiment set is my new favorite. And I'm enjoying the non-traditional colors (they're intended for winter greetings to all kind of people, not strictly Christmas). The die is a also new one I don't think I shared here yet (sorry if I repeat myself!). Very Pacific NW, which is where I am. I might have bought a few new winter/Christmas stamps on sale at Joann.com yesterday...

Thanks dald222 I love the sound of your white birch and cardinals card - really looking forward to seeing that. I love birch trees. (I accidentally typed "bird trees" at first! haha. I like bird trees too.) The pink tree sounds cool too. Retro chic! This weekend I think I'm going to die cut panels from store bought cards I've received to turn into new cards. I hope it looks OK. I haven't really tried that before, even though it's a classic thrifty strategy. I've cut them up for pocket scrapbooking, which is also fun.

I do not really stamp anymore I did for many years & loved every part but one day I stared to hate it so I got rid of most of my stamps which I never thought I would say. I did not keep many...some kids, abc.

I'm not sure if you guys are reading the Christmas in August thread but I posted the results of my recycled cards there. They came out better than expected! Hopefully this link will work: link to threadI bought a couple of wood mounted stamps that were marked down at Joann's the other day. They should make lovely simple winter/Xmas cards - more like woodblock prints. I've stamped them on white card panels but now I need to decide whether to fancy them up on colorful backgrounds or just leave them very simple on small notecards. Once I figure that out I'll post them here. (If I tell you I'm doing something then I'm more likely to go and do it right away!)

Sigh. My boss better get back here soon, so I can go back to work. Instead of shopping online for craft stuff. Found a 'new to me' stamp company last night on YouTube. Went to their website just now and looks like they are brand new. Besides the set I saw last night that I have to have, I saw a cute nativity set that I have to have too. And a deer set. And I have only glanced at the first 4 stamp sets. Hello Bluebird StampsI think my wallet just ran away. I discovered this stamp company recently, I haven’t ordered yet, but they are just adorable. I do plan on getting some things probably next month.

joblackford love your cards! I've finally made a start on mine and did a whole lot of embossing and stamping last weekend. Still have some to do but that's the bulk of the work apart from doing the card bases and stamping inside sentiments. Will post a pic when I'm done.

I really need to get moving on my Christmas cards, I'm hoping to sit down and do some tomorrow. Too bad every time I sit at my desk I get distracted at the mess, start cleaning up, get bored cleaning and then go do something else

We'd love to see what you're making. And the CARDtober challenges on the board might be good inspiration this month if you don't have all your designs decided.

The caring hearts drive cards are a simple design but effective. I will take a pic tonite and figure out how to post it. My special scrappy friend cards. Well last year I used the Tim Holtz Christmas car set and built a card. Lots of small pieces. It was well recieved. This year. I'm thinking Tim Holtz snow globe die set. Or the lawn Fawn wheel die. For the faculty where my dad lives. I will use the 3*4 journal cards from various Christmas lines. Last year 2 other friends Nd me designed 10 cards from a 12*12 sheet of journal cards. Was really fun and they were fantastic. This year's cards for me to send. Well I don't know. I may do journal cards or may just do same format at caring hearts . Last year took a foil card base and used a winter scene embossing folder. It looked really cool. The two peas card exchange we shall see.

I'm not at home right now, but I think I've got 85 Christmas cards completed so far!! Last year I ran out of time and did not get them all sent to everyone in the card exchange So this year I feel much better.
I just keep making them until I run out of time. I think we send out about 20-30 to friends/family. I make the cards and dh addresses and mails them for me so I have no idea how many we actually send. But I like that I do the fun part and he does the other part
I make mine in batches, used to be sets of about 10 or so. But this year I'm trying to do closer to 20 per design. But by design I mean lift of other people's designs. I'm not creative enough to come up with my own designs! I do usually make about 5 or 6 special cards. Those are for parents, in-laws, etc. My husbands aunt and uncle and my sister's in-laws are both very religious, so they get special cards each year.
I'm excited for Cardtober and all the challenges I'm looking forward to getting a lot done this month!!

I need to stop buying and start creating. But I can't help it. Received these sets from the UK today, ordered them on September 26th. VERY fast shipping. They are SO CUTE!!! (Lili of the Valley stamps in the UK) I have two different 2-day crops coming up that I plan to make Christmas cards at, so I should get quite a few done by mid November.
