I'm not sure if you guys are reading the Christmas in August thread but I posted the results of my recycled cards there. They came out better than expected! Hopefully this link will work: link to threadI bought a couple of wood mounted stamps that were marked down at Joann's the other day. They should make lovely simple winter/Xmas cards - more like woodblock prints. I've stamped them on white card panels but now I need to decide whether to fancy them up on colorful backgrounds or just leave them very simple on small notecards. Once I figure that out I'll post them here. (If I tell you I'm doing something then I'm more likely to go and do it right away!) I love all those cards, what a great idea!!

Glad to hear he is feeling better than he was, but it must be hard to craft with all that going on. Glad you have your embossing folder out. Hope you can share what you create. Here is a link to some Christmas cards I made a few months ago using one of those folders. I inked it before embossing.

Wow, it's almost the end of October, about a month out from Thanksgiving, and now it doesn't seem crazy at all to be working on holiday cards! How is everyone doing? I think I'm ready to call it good on donation cards and start thinking seriously about my own cards for the Pea swap and for my friends and family. I'm going to try to keep it simple this year with only one design for everyone. I spent a lot of time and energy last year trying to match the card to the right person... Do you know what I mean? I'd have 4 that would be perfect for friend x but then friend y might like this one but then what will I have for friend z?! I've been able to play and use my make-do creative energy for all my donation cards, so I think designing a simple digital card for the Peas, and another one for the family will be fine. Do you have a plan? How goes it?

Do you have a plan? How goes it? My plan is to knock out as many as I can this weekend. I'm going to a crafty retreat up in the mountains and I'm planning to just work on holiday cards.

Do you have a plan? How goes it? I’m really happy with my progress so far this year!! For friends and family I do pick out specific cards for a few people. Dh does all our addressing and mailing so I just put a sticky note on the cards I want going to specific people. I try to make sure each of my siblings gets a different design. And I have a couple people that are religious, so I make them a religious style card.

I'm going to a crafty weekend this coming weekend too. Not in the mountains though, that would be cool. I made my friends and family Christmas cards back in August. I used up a whole 6x6 paper pad at one sitting and got about 45 cards done. Most are different so there will be a variety for everyone. So this coming weekend I will be working on Christmas Cards to donate. I plan to get tons done.

I just discovered I only have 2 weeks to get my Caring Hearts drive cards in the mail. And when I discovered that they were limiting the drive donations to 100 cards per person this year I emailed a local care facility and found out they would like donated cards too. So I need to get on that! I've been busy making random Cardtober challenge cards so I haven't stamped the insides or written messages yet. That might be a good task for this weekend.
I got a new computer so I'm still in software transition/learning curve mode rather than getting on with designing cards.

Last Friday and Saturday I was at a crop and got 95 Christmas cards done. I'm kind of tried of Christmas cards right now. I have to finish a few things on them, but happy with how many I got done. Sorry, no pictures. "What happens at Craft Retreat, stays at Craft Retreat". LOL

I'm kind of tried of Christmas cards right now. Yeah, I hear you!! Well done for getting so many cards made. You've made a ton! I'm going to work on my friends and family cards and 2P swap cards next. I mailed my Caring Hearts cards last week and I'm delivering my local nursing home a box for their residents this week. The stamping and signing for each of those took a lot of effort - basically a whole afternoon for each, even with Tiny Tim helping me out with the stamping. I'm pretty sick of Christmas cards right now too. But maybe once I pull out some different supplies I'll get my mojo back. Maybe one day I'll learn to stamp the insides as I go!

Turn up the Christmas music. Makin' cards with justjac and my niece today. We are starting with some PhotoPlay kits that just require cutting and gluing. That should warm up the creative muscles. I want to do some layering, stamping, diecutting, and... Glitter. Lots of glitter. I LOVE snow. When it is warm and inside and pretty. The kits are in traditional red/green. I also have an iris case of red/green/gold supplies I had sorted out earlier and want to use with the kits. I want to move on to my blue/silver kit I made up before our crop and never used. Most of my cards today will be fairly simple. Also want to take some time to diecut some things with the dies justjac is bringing so I can assemble some more intricate cards later.

After starting mine in August I FINALLY finished them last night. They're all addressed and most of them have even been written, stamped, sealed and are ready to go! What a relief! I didn't think I'd ever get them done!
