Would you? And what would you take?
I'd love to go to pastry school or to train to be a CSI. Two polar opposites 😂

Yes. I would either go get my PhD in applied behavior analysis (my current field), or, go for the long held dream of becoming a pediatrician.

I'd love to get my PhD, but probably not. I am planning on getting my pilot's license within the next year, so does flight school count?

I have two bachelor's degrees, one in political science and one in philosophy. I have an MBA in accounting. If I won the lottery, I would go back to school and work on a PhD in philosophy with the intent of maybe teaching one class a semester. I love philosophy but accounting is much more practical.

I would never go just for fun. I don't enjoy it that much.
I completed my ADN (RN) 20 years ago and am going to finally finish my BSN this year. I'm toying with the idea of getting my MSN and becoming a clinical nurse specialist, but I just don't know if I want to do that to myself.
Deciding to become an RN is probably one of the really sound decisions I've ever made in my life. I wouldn't pursue another career at this point because there is nothing I'd rather do.

I always wanted to go to art school but never made it. Marriage and children became the priority. DH and I both started that path but realized we weren't the types to be able to support ourselves that way unless we wanted to teach, which we don't. Instead I became a nurse and he became an engineer. Things can change so much when you're young!

I went to college after my kids were in school. I was 40 or so and first got my ADN degree, then got a job, and continued for my BSN. It took "awhile" as I was a part-time student, and part-time worker, and full-time wife and mom! But it was a goal I always wanted to do, and I'm happy I did it.
So, you ladies that would like to be a nurse, you can still do it!! Go for it! It's a great profession!

Radiology tech. I actually was going to go thus year and chickened out. We own our own business and my husband was being very wishy washy last year about going to work...for months. And our business pays me to do his paperwork. If he doesn’t work, there’s no work for me. He got his shit together around December so for now I’m doing office work again. No way could do it without me now, and I don’t know if I have the energy to carry a full course load and deal with him, I mean our business. I work better when I devote my full attention to something. But I do have a plan should this not work out, and a 2 year degree is not too crazy.

For fun I would love to go through a culinary baking program. However, I really want to finish my college degree. I think about going back online if I ever get to the point where I'm able to do so. My state schools offer online degrees and I'm thisclose to being done.

My old self wishes that my young self would have found a way to go to college and become a nurse. Can I just say that as an old nurse, I wish I had chosen another profession. Lots of reasons, but the number one is that it's very hard on the body. At least we can get a drink when we need to where I work now. My old hospital made it darn near impossible to hydrate often.

Funny you should ask....just recently, like the last 48 hours, I have considered a Pharmacy Tech class. I am 57 and not sure if I have the cajonés to try!

I was in school & had to drop out last fall due to a hell of a flare of the fatigue from Fibro.
My initial degree was going to be OT. However, my husband would temporarily move to a central location (his work and the uni. that I would need to finish). So, I had just began situating my classes to the BSN track.

I used to wish I could study gemology, but now my vision is deteriorating so much that I'm really glad I did not do that.
Music Therapy is a field that interests me more and more.
I'm also interested enough in the relationship between music learning and other academic learning that it just might inspire me to go back for another graduate degree. But not now. LOL

I have a Master's in Social Work, but have always regretted that I didn't go to law school as I had really wanted.
If I went back now though (in my late 50's), I would become a certified professional organizer.

My answer is completely the opposite of the question posed, but the question made me think. I did exactly what I wanted to do with school and career and then family. If I were to dream about doing it differently, I wish I would have had the guts to graduate high school and just head off to a mission field somewhere - work in an orphanage or a refugee camp somewhere, or in a fair trade co-op in Swaziland, etc. - something Peace Corp-ish. In my dreams I am helping women in other countries to have sustainable income and support their families and communities.

I would love to be a Recreational Therapist or get my masters and become a media specialist. However, now that I am in my 50s I don't know if it is worth it to invest so much money o to a career I wouldn't have for very long.
