Languages. I would love to be multilingual. Don't know how I forgot that. I would love to speak at least 2 but as many languages as possible. How fabulous that would be! I would love it. I'm always impressed by people who can speak fluently enough for a conversation at least in other languages. Have some French and a smattering of German but not enough. It's something I've promised myself I'll do when I retire

Funny, I just had a dream about this last night! I was back at my alma mater enrolling in the commercial pilot single-engine course. In real life, I received my private pilot's license through Embry-Riddle and started the commercial portion, but my instructor was a total !@#$%& and squashed my self-esteem and confidence in my piloting skills. I changed my degree. If I could do it all again, I'd stand up for myself, demand another instructor and muscle my way through the tough spots. I'm a different person now, I'd tell my 18 year old self to push through all the crap and don't stop until you achieved your dreams. Fast forwarding to now: I earned more than half the credits needed for a masters degree in aeronautical science. In fact, I've had to stop and restart the degree program three times due to military moves, so I probably over the years completed enough to be awarded several masters lol. It wearies me to think about starting yet again, and I'm in my 50s, who would hire me? (Plus it's REALLY expensive nowadays!) My other love is art. In high school, I was leaning toward becoming a commercial artist and applying to Parson's School of Design or Pratt Institute in NYC. Then aviation called.... Maybe it's time to revisit the world of art

Funny you should ask....just recently, like the last 48 hours, I have considered a Pharmacy Tech class. I am 57 and not sure if I have the cajonés to try! You should look into it. We're friends with one of the pharmacists at our local Walgreens and she was telling me the techs are in high demand, and Walgreens is always looking to hire more "mature" (her words ) candidates. Something else she told us is Walgreens likes to hire younger candidates (high school), especially those interested in becoming a pharmacist. My ds was considering pharmacy for a while and she said to apply and let her know if he did (which he decided not to do). Thank you for your input and insight. It is not out of the question!

Oh yes. If I won the lottery somehow, I'd go to University and get a philosophy degree.

I’m not sure I would go back at this point. Maybe if money wasn’t an issue...I have a BA in English and Journalism but have worked in a totally unrelated field for 30+ years. I’d love to work in the medical field but not as a nurse. I guess I’d have to think a long time before I could make a decision.

At this point in my life, no, I really don't have any interest in going back to school. I've been teaching for 40 years, I have a Master's degree and thirty hours beyond that.
I'm looking forward to retirement. And one of the best things about retirement will be the freedom from schedules and requirements of so many types. I have no desire to be involved in any formal education. And even though I think about what it might have been like to have a second career in a different field, I don't want to do that now.
Would I consider a 'fun' type of course? Yes, maybe, if it was short-term and something that really interested me.

If I could go back I'd get the architecture degree I should have gone for in the first place. Either that or fashion design.
I won't though. I don't live near a school that has a program for either option and my husband wants a BA in business. If we ever had the funds he'd get his chance. I have a BA already.

Would you? And what would you take? I'd love to go to pastry school or to train to be a CSI. Two polar opposites 😂 If I had unlimited time and energy, I’d go back to school and become a doctor.

To formally get another degree? No. But I'd love to audit some courses. Would like to learn Spanish.

Radiology tech. I actually was going to go thus year and chickened out. We own our own business and my husband was being very wishy washy last year about going to work...for months. And our business pays me to do his paperwork. If he doesn’t work, there’s no work for me. He got his shit together around December so for now I’m doing office work again. No way could do it without me now, and I don’t know if I have the energy to carry a full course load and deal with him, I mean our business. I work better when I devote my full attention to something. But I do have a plan should this not work out, and a 2 year degree is not too crazy. I considered this after my chemo/radiation treatment. But the pay was comparable to what I was making and I would be adding student loans and starting at the bottom again. I was in my 40s at the time.

Not for my career but one of my retirement goals is to go back to school just for enjoyment and learning. I would study Philosophy, political science, sociology, art history, literature, maybe even a pinch of theology - all the stuff I didn’t have time for before because I had to be sensible.
Equally, when done my MBA I hope I never have to take another course in Finance, Marketing, strategy - oh, and no more leadership courses or motivating your team courses. Sorry for the rant , got a little off course there.

Funny, DH and I was just discussing this earlier. My mother wouldn't "let" me go to college, just business school. Colleges were just FULL of druggies... yeah right, my younger sister because a drug addict and alcoholic stealing alcohol and probably drugs from our POS stepfather. Our father died when we were barely 8 and she was 4.
If I'd gone back then, I probably would have done computer science. RIght now, for the small mountain town I live in, I wish I'd gone to be an elementary and/or art and music teacher.

I would be a perpetual student if I could afford it. I want to be librarian in my parallel life. If I could go back and do my career over, I'd be a corporate trainer or something else in adult education like a college instructor. I'd also learn more languages and how to sew.

I even interviewed at our medical examiner's office but I was making more money at my job at they time and they practically told me it would be foolish to take an entry level position with them.

Not school as such but I would love to do a floristry course. Both beginners and advance courses but it's so expensive.

I wouldn't go back to school. I'd instead take more time for myself when I was younger.

I always wanted to go to college and become a teacher. Unfortunately without any support from my parents or even the school district at the time, I just couldn't figure out how to make that happen. Now that I'm a bit older, I do wish I had a college degree and some sort of career, but don't think teacher is for me now. I wouldn't even know where to start to figure out what I would want to do with my life now.

I would go back and actually get my chemistry degree, I was only 3 or 4 classes away from a BS. Then I would get a PhD in organic chemistry which I loved.

I would love to go back and take some social work classes. I work in Social Services but on the admin/finance side. I would love to get some education in the services side. I think it would give me a greater understanding on what our staff deals with and how I can support them.
