DS (19) went to grab toothpaste at Target this afternoon and came back with an armload of Easter candy, coffee beans, kind bars and nuts and said “these are for my Easter basket.” I’m not sure if he was nervous the bunny would forget him or what. His sisters still get baskets and they’re 26.

We got Easter backers in my family well into our 20s. And we hunted for eggs until we had kids of our own because grandma put cash in them. My neighbors do that. The grandpa put $50 bills in a few of the eggs and then made them really hard to find. The rest just had $1's, 5's and 10's. I'd go searching too. I do the same ...one egg with $50 and one with $5.....ALL the adults and all the little ones LOVE it!

My MIL gives the 8 grandchildren (ages 9-24) baskets of candy and small things plus a bigger gift worth around $100. She gives her adult children and spouses (ages 36-52) baskets of candy and an egg with $25. I was just at her house and her dining room table and floor were covered with gifts as she was trying to sort and prepare everything. She is just the type that loves to give and uses any holiday as a chance to do so.

My kids are little - 7, 5, 2, newborn - I've been picking up little things for their baskets for a couple weeks now. It's hard because we have birthdays March 17, 23, & 25. So I held back some small presents. And I did a big Sees candy run today. I decided less candy, but higher quality! A couple years ago target had bags of eggs by color. I got pink for oldest dd, green for oldest ds, blue for little ds, little dd just arrived a week ago so I have a year to find eggs for her, I'll probably look for purple for her. That way they have the same number of eggs and I can put specific things in their eggs because they know to just look for their color (at least with the older two).

Your son’s Easter basket sounds great. I love all the thought everyone puts towards finding just the right gifts. Your kids should do Mom baskets.

We did solid colors of eggs for one boy and mixed colors for the other boy. The dogs are colorblind so they went for all of them.

This is my first year with an adult child. I'll give him the usual stuff. I don't think he's excited. I'll stop once he's in a committed relationship. That's what we've always done in my family. They can start their own traditions.

I got DS an aero press and a reusable filter for it. Some coffee for it and a Dunkin’ GC. DD is studying abroad so the Easter bunny will make a deposit in her account. Those European Easter bunnies are nice like that 😉

DH asked if the Easter bunny was leaving him a basket this year because he didn’t leave one last year. He was very clear about wanting one. So I’m making baskets for DH and DS (27) this week.

Anyone who is in my house on Easter will get a basket. Including me, for the record. My parents spend last Easter with us, and the bunny left them baskets, too.

My 19 and 21 year olds still get baskets. My dd plans her Easter around getting her basket! LOL
Last year was my and DH’s first Easter together and he was shocked when he got a basket. I didn’t get one last year, but I know he was shopping for stuff this week.
I give my kids candy, gas cards, and a few small trinkets.

My kids are both grown and married with kids of their own, so no more baskets! I don't do baskets for my grand kids either. They get enough candy and other stuff from their parents and school celebrations. I do host dinner and we do fill plastic eggs with candy and have an egg hunt. We put quarters in some of the eggs and a special 4 have 1.00 in them! I also give each of them a card with $10.00.

My girls have birthdays in a few weeks. They will turn 22 and 18.
I do a simple basket for each. They're just not huge candy people. I'm the one who eats all the candy, so I try to keep it simple. We do color eggs, still. That's about it. Easter is super low-key here.

DD (32) moved away a few years ago and will be moving back next year. I've already bought a few things for her basket next year (as well as her husband.) They get non-candy things as well as candy. A couple years ago, they were home for Easter and we had their best friends over for dinner as well. Everyone got an Easter basket. The friends were super excited (all 4 are super healthy, paleo, crossfit people) and they devoured their candy in no time.
Doesn't matter how old you are, if you are at our house for Easter, you will get some sort of basket. Candy, funny stuff, useful stuff, you name it.
DD still wants a stuffed animal (small these days) because it is tradition.

I’ve always given Easter gift bags to my kids (then I can add the bags to my gift bag stock and don’t have any annoying Easter baskets cluttering up their rooms ). My youngest is 12 and last year was the first year he and his slightly-older sister didn’t want to color eggs. Bittersweet, but I didn’t miss the mess from that either. I’ve been giving my kids, even the adult ones, some Sees Easter candy and an iTunes gift card for Easter for the past several years, plus whatever little things I find I think they might like. That and Easter dinner is about all I have the energy for anymore .

My children are 27 21 and 18. They will all get baskets along with 2 spouses. My middle child has moved to Florida and works in day care. She seems to constantly have a cold. So she received cold meds, sun screen, vitamins and s small amount of chocolate. My oldest is going to visit her sister for East so she received sunscreen, dry shampoo car snacks that I gave her early and an water/sand resistant blanket. My 18 is a boy do he gets more candy than his sisters as he still eats it. But he will get a steam gift card. We hunted eggs for years but gave that up about 2 years ago. Will start again when grandchildren arrive. I kept the plastic eggs.

I mailed some Easter candy to DS (26 Navy overseas).
Our policy (because my kids are so far apart in age) is that once you turn 18, you no longer participate in the kid-group for holiday traditions -Santa doesn't come to you nor does the Easter Bunny or the Birthday Faery and mum is no longer responsible for your Hallowe'en costume). BUT you are now in the adult group - which means mum does buy you some Easter Candy and your stocking is filled with wrapped gifts from other adults etc....in other words - you're not really missing out but mum isn't hiding eggs etc...

My dd(18) who is away at university sent me that same meme yesterday. She will be home for a quick visit Easter weekend Both her and her 15 yr old brother get a basket. This year it has a giant costco bag of mini eggs, iTunes gift card, case of their favourite pop, bag of fritos for him and Chicago mix popcorn for her, Cadbury easter cream eggs and then I hide about 100 of those cheap little foil wrapped eggs. I always get DH a lindor bunny and he always gets me 3 Cadbury caramel eggs, my favourite!

My family's love language is gifts. My mother decided it and we perpetuate it. Easter is next weekend and I need to get something for DS and my DDIL. I have no idea what to get them. They just moved into their own apartment so should I get them a lamp maybe? New towels? Chocolate? Ideas? Your son got married?

I wish there were adult Easter egg hunts — I’d be happy with nothing inside and just a chance to win something if I collect a lot of eggs haha.
Can you tell I was deprived of egg hunts as a child? I think I’ve only done one in my life. But looking for hidden eggs sounds fun to me for some reason. Like a scavenger hunt.

Everyone who comes to our house for Easter gets an Easter basket, regardless of age. Great, so I see that I need to arrive about noon, what can I bring? We got Easter baskets until we moved out, which was within a week of high school graduation for all 5 of us. I made Easter baskets for dh and myself until ds came along and then I just made them for him. Ds doesn't like eggs, so we never coloured any. Most of the time we were traveling during Easter, so the bunny came to where ever we were with little fanfare. A couple of times he was invited to hunt eggs with other vacationing families. Ds will likely get baskets until he gets married.

I think I will give them money and let them buy something at IKEA. They got their dining table and chairs and computer table and chairs there. That sounds good, eh? They are good for appliances as DS lived on his own going to school where he lives now. He has a nice rice maker, toaster oven, hot water pot (it's a perpetually hot kettle), and the apartment comes with a dishwasher. I will get them some ice trays, too. I don't think they have any. DS likes ice and DDIL doesn't.

Adults drink wine and look for eggs filled with candy. hahaha. I have never been, but I have a few FB friends that go every yr. if you have a local winery, You might check and see if they offer anything like that.

So.... I am 43, My sister is 40. We are both Married, with multiple children and my mom still makes us an Easter Basket. She uses the same baskets we had when we were kids. She fills them with some candy for us and our DH's and we all get a GC to buy a summer outfit and then usually something little for just me and sis. Like a cute kitchen towels, one yr we got flower clocks and one other yr we got one of those spiny things for the garden ( looks kind of like a small decorative windmill on a pole)
She also gets baskets with candy, trinkets & GC's for all of our kids.
I have 3 kids, 22, 18 & 15. We do an egg hunt every Easter morning & they still get a basket with some candy and smaller stuff and then usually 1 bigger thing that they need ( the boys are getting new bike helmets this yr & DD is getting a flat Iron so she will stop taking mine!) My plan is to stop the egg hunts when our youngest goes off to college. But they will still get baskets. And I will do a basket or combined basket like my mom does once any of them are in a serious relationship. I also make up a bowl of candy for DH and I. He LOVES Reese's So I try and get a few bags when I can get them on sale and then he eats them over the course of a few weeks then he is good until the next holiday. lol
