Hello 100 Dayers! I thought I would split our chatting up into ten day blocks, and give us a place to share comments &/or what we have done for this project in this time frame. Participants: BSideCrafter catseatcheese Charwee christinec68 DawnMcD ecvnj58 freeatlast grammadee hockeyfan06 JaneB joblackford julie5 justjac lasteve1 Linda LisaDV marie mrssch oaksong paperamy scrapcat sleepingbootySnoopyFan teacherlisa wendifful woodysbetty I did some playing with paints and inks today; pulled out some stencils, did a bit of free hand lettering. Finding it hard to focus, b/c I keep thinking about the end result and how I will actually USE what I am creating. I think this is because I have been scrapbooking and card making almost every day this year and my thought process starts with what I want the result to be, then goes to how to get that result. I want what I am doing for 100 Days to be different, starting with "What if???" I think it is good for me to get away from the product mindset, but I think it will take awhile. So to appease both halves of my brain, I have a plan to use my painty/inky pieces for a full page for my 100 days project book. Maybe I just need to get my toes wet before I can swim the English Chanel. How are you doing on your first steps on this journey?

Good idea to break it down into 10 day chunks. I was thinking about just posting 10 day updates on my Instagram, rather than every day. I will probably update daily to Flickr here, though, mostly for my own review. At this point, it might be a little boring for every one to see letter/stroke drills.
I just printed off my ABC sheets for practicing/tracing lettering on vellum, which I'll work on when I get home tonight.
I'm resisting the urge to buy just the right pens and papers for my new project! It's about the process, not the product, right?

I'm in the brainstorming stage of my project which is a thematic succinct biographical album. I'm writing down the themes and trying to group them together to create pages that echo each other and allow to journal (and illustrate) more coherently. Right now I've got: feminist // humanist from the city // from the sea winter baby // summer woman French // Mediterranean realism // optimism seeing // listening extra // intro (on being an ambivert) soul // body baroque // surrealism left wing // apolitical literature // philosophy healthy // gourmet writer // listener private // open move // meditate epicurean // stoic nonconformist // in plain sight red // green devil's advocate // empathetic minimalist // clutterer stargazer // rooted Hope everyone's having fun on their first day! I'm happy I jumped on board at the last minute. Let's see if I can actually turn this into a finished project I'll be holding in my hands in three months' time... grammadee I'm all for letting go of expectations that you ought to have a "finished" product in your hands you'll be able to "use." We often forget that practice is both empowerment and a form of meditation. That is greatly beneficial and useful to us as people, as individuals.

I finally decided on a project - I've been doing genealogy for 35 years now and for the past 10-ish I used a genealogy program which has since been discontinued. I finally found another program but transferring data from one to the other wasn't very successful so I'm starting from scratch with data entry - which (silver lining) is enabling me to look over some of my research and do a better job documenting sources.
Which brings me to my 100 days...I'm going to do at least some work on it every day.

I'm delaying my start because I'm away from home and we'll be flying across the Pacific later tonight. I'm planning to get started on my first day back home, April 5th, even if it's something very quick and small. I doubt I'll be able to convince myself to make some token marks in my journal on the night we get home (around midnight April 4th) but you never know. Maybe I just count these couple of days as planning days so I can finish on day 100 with everyone else (and not have to figure out which day I'm up to as the project goes along).

Safe journey home, joblackford! I wouldn't worry about #DayOne #DayTwo and all that. You can brainstorm and plan the project without guilt or shame.

I brought my camera to work with me but forgot my memory card so no day 1 for me. I took a picture yesterday of a flower and will maybe use that. I’m off to a bad start already.

One of my projects is putting back my studio. It was torn apart and used as a catch-all after Hurricane Harvey last year. We are still having work done on other parts of the house, but I need to reclaim my creative space.
Right now, I'm in my space pulling products for a creative/junk journal.
My instagram hashtag is #100dayproject_byfawn.

I pulled out my gratitude journal that I hadn't touched since last summer and wrote down three things that I'm thankful for today. I've had so much going on in the past nine months. It's easy to forget that there's so much good in my life, so many blessings. I also started a Positivity Journal. Every day I will write down one thing that I accomplished that day and one thing that I'm looking forward to the next day. Kaye's 100 Days on Instagram

I've been waffling on using DawnMcD 's pinterest inspiration or my original just do something creative every day. I ended up feeling poorly in the afternoon yesterday. So I didn't even make it into my craft room. So I decided cooking was creative enough and doing something creative everyday was the way to go to use that. Mainly because I didn't give 100days another thought after morning. And, I was already laying in bed when it dawned on me. I started day 1 with a post of trying to make a low fodmap egg salad for dd12. I thought I was successful and then because low fodmap is about portion sizes for many fruits and vegetables, I realized that I put too much celery in. Good thing I found out before attempting a low fodmap etoufee styled dish today. I will check each ingredient I want to add today.

I've decided to do a scrapbook page a day. Working on a fun trip TN, catching up on PL, and regular layouts I'm attempting not to buy any scrapbook supplies during this time too outside of my normal subs (Ali, Elle's, Hero Arts)
I got the first page of my travel TN done, but the lighting wasn't great to photograph it. Working on day 2 today.
I ordered the 100 days of promises book from Dayspring recently and I'm going to work through that as well.

I really like how everyone is doing something different and creative! I like many different styles and subjects such as clean and simple, shabby chic, multi media to creating home decor, junk journals and mini albums. I want to try everything once. If I like it then I will try to create more of the same. For example I saw these embellishment boxes on youtube and I tried it once. I liked it so much I'm on my third one. I have posted 2 already on my instagram for this 100 day project. My instagram is www.instagram.com/scrapperdw It's awesome we can share ideas

Day2: still not feeling well. With no mojo for any kind of normal crafting, I turn to my kitchen creations because unfortunately the family still needs to eat. Today was pizza. The left side has all low FODMAP portions while the right is for ds with pepporoni and lots more cheese.

day 1. I’m using a pic from the day before because I forgot my memory card Day 2 shows exactly why I’m doing this project. I need practice. I’m blurry. Still not horrible though.

I am loving all the stories and glimpses into your lives. Here is how I used one of the pieces from today's play. I stamped with StazOn, then heat embossed with clear ep before blending TH Oxides for the background. I did this with a couple of different stamps and a couple of different colour combos. Decided I could turn this panel into a card with a few added elements (the greeting and the butterfly) and then decided to add a little Deco foil. inked Thinking of You by Gramma Dee, on Flickr The other pieces are drying after being lightly misted with water, and will be tucked into my 100 Days box until I figure out what to do with them in my book in there: may just cut pieces to fit into pockets; may attach to a page of some sort. For now, just collecting...

Jumping in to share... since I haven't had much success with 100 day project in past, I'm doing something simple. I have been able to do the post a day for a month/30 days practices, so I am extending that to the 100 day project.
I decided to use it to work on photography, and really seeing again, as well as for creative inspiration. Instagram is kinda a drag to me anymore, so hoping it refuels some creativity where that is concerned.
Anyhoo, I created a new instagram account for my 100 day project @birdpaperflower to share photos of birds, paper and flowers. More details there.
Once I figure out how to link here to there, I will give it a try.
Love reading about everyone's ideas, very interesting perspectives.

Hello Everyone. I am doing a photo a day. Using my still "fairly new" camera that I bought in the summer of 2017 and my older camera as well. I have kept up thus far and I am posting the photos on my instagram.

ecvnj58, that was me yesterday! I love seeing everyone’s creativity! I’m feeling better today but still have yet to make it in the craft room. So today’s post was 2 new recipes. A chicken, rice florentine with curry which was lunch and a chicken & bacon frittata muffin for dinner.

I stuck down a copy of part of an article I read in my journal and added some lines and notes around it. I already had some other stuff on the page so I was just filling in the gap under the Black Panther photo. The article was about A Wrinkle in Time, which was on the right hand page, but it referenced Black Panther too, so it was perfect. The copying was less than perfect but I didn't fuss about that. Trying to keep things simple and fun. I also experimented on another page and discovered that a grey mildliner pen makes a line I can see to write on that almost disappears after writing on it in white. I'm having fun with my black pages! link

I played with alcohol inks on acetate today. I am always pretty heavy handed, but a little tipping and dripping plus some blending solution helped out with the final result. I cut up the 8 1/2" sheet of transparency and then ended up using a couple of the pieces in a card, to encase the shaker elements. This photo was one of those that is difficult to take. While the colours are bright to the eye, the camera doesn't seem to pick that up. I think it is the relflection of the acetate on top that fools the camera? Anyway, I stuck my Ott spot light inside the card to get this photo. Still looks dark, but you can see the colours in the window. shaker bd by Gramma Dee, on Flickr might be on the road tomorrow, so need to pack up a small simple art kit to take with me: will have some time in the evening in the hotel room to sketch or something...

I love that you are documenting little pieces of the process, rather than simply what you created.
