I really dislike the way President Trump is going after an America company, in this case Amazon. They are not breaking any laws. If they are, let the legal system handle it. I just heard him mention they are taking away businesses from mom and pop stores and Main Street is closing up. So, will he go after Wal-Mart next?? I don't know why he's so worried about the mom and pop stores when he couldn't care a damn about someone's home when he wanted to build his golf course in Scotland. Whilst I agree with the principle of what he is saying, he isn't the one to be saying it...hypocrite! He's fixated with Amazon because he can't bear the thought that Jeff Bezos has been far more successful than he has.

Here's a question for you... If one did not vote for Trump but supports everything/defends him on a daily basis, would you consider that person a Trump supporter or not? Interested to see the answers. Also, I can't understand the people who state that there is NO PROOF of Trump's wrongdoings or that he has no compassion. Umm what rock are they living under? The idiot mocked a DISABLED MAN on live tv for Pete’s sake! If that doesn't prove it, I don't know how to respond anymore. Yes, I would say if it oinks like a pig, it’s probably a pig. People who state that there is no proof of trumps wrong doings either have never turned on a tv, or have their head buried in the sand on purpose for their own agenda. Trumps twitter feed alone is proof of his offensive actions.

There can be words that come out of his mouth that, at face value, I would agree with. Problem is, as he has shown time and time again, they are subject to change in an instant for his own self-interest. And the rules do not apply to him, in his mind. I don't trust anything coming out of his mouth, good or bad, for that reason. (and others)

Was this woman rude in what she said to Cruz? Maybe. But Cruz’s bill does not show either respect or civility to folks in her condition. Quite the opposite. She spoke clearing and directly, I did not think she was rude. He smiled but still looked a bit uncomfortable.

Oh, I expect the Waltons are worth far more (as a family) than the Trumps.

Seriously, our president is going on a personal vendetta against a public company because of the CEO, trying to manipulate their stock prices. And acting gleeful about it.
What kind of country have we turned into, that anyone thinks that's okay?

Oh, I expect the Waltons are worth far more (as a family) than the Trumps. On the 2018 Forbes list there are seven different members of the Walton family all ranked within the top 300. Trump was #766 eta: here is the kink for anyone who is curious about the list. www.forbes.com/billionaires/list/#version:static

What kind of country have we turned into, that anyone thinks that's okay? Oh, they’re willing to concede that it’s not OK. They didn’t vote for Trump! Almost no one admits to having voted for the guy. But then they say they couldn’t possibly have voted for Hillary, either, so what can you do? 🤷🏻♀️ Totally not their fault that they couldn’t make an informed decision between an idiot, racist, misogynist wanna-be dictator and a highly educated, eminently qualified (but flawed) candidate. It was an impossible choice, obviously. No one could blame the folks who just sat it out. 😡

Time to start new thread. But first, the below quote is not how I see this thread. “ I haven’t necessarily abandoned this thread, but, obviously, there are a few from the opposing side of the fence who can’t seem to respect this thread as a place for us to talk amongst ourselves. I can’t see the liberal catch-all thread unless I log out, but have conservatives or Trump supporters invaded that thread? Is there some sort of ‘payback’ going on that I can’t see?”That's just their persecution complex. The liberals are after them.

McCarthy joins Trump at private dinnerBY BRETT SAMUELS - 04/04/18 08:18 PM EDT McCarthy joined Trump a day after multiple reports indicated the two are discussing ways to cut some of the funding in the recently passed $1.3 trillion omnibus bill. The move comes after conservatives criticized the bill for including the largest federal spending increase in years, despite Republican pledges to show financial restraint. In order for the spending to be slashed, Congress would need to sign off on the request, which could be a challenge for Trump. thehill.com/homenews/administration/381723-mccarthy-joins-trump-at-private-dinnerThey are planning on cutting some of the things for the budget that were supposedly put in just for the democrats. They can do it but it must be voted on by both Houses of Congress. McCarthy is the one who did the red and pink Starbursts for dt on Air Force One.... He is trying to make it to Ryan's Speaker position!

ETA - oops should have kept reading as AmandaA made the same point and actually counted all the Waltons, instead of just taking the top 3 like me.

This from CNN....
“BREAKING: The White House announces that President Donald Trump has signed the presidential memorandum for sending National Guard troops on assignment to the southern border. Here is the full memorandum. cnn.it/2GwYQtP”
Prompted this response from Ted Lieu...
“Proclamation by @realdonaldtrump doesn't actually send National Guard troops to the border. Because @potus is using Title 32 authority--instead of federalizing the Guard under Title 10--this is a REQUEST for state Governors to send troops.
That means @jerrybrowngov can say no.”
I’m pretty sure of two things.
1. Governor Brown will say no.
2. trump is flat out nuts.

ABC News...
“DHS Sec. Nielsen says replacing current sections of border wall would count as "new wall": "To us, it's all new wall...This is the Trump border wall." abcn.ws/2GyQVMD”
I believe this called pandering to a little boy.

We can’t afford to pay teachers a living wages, and we can’t protect our children in school, but we can afford to send all these troops to guard a border. It’s outrageous.

The Hill...
“Mexican senators unanimously approve resolution to halt cooperation with US after Trump attacks: hill.cm/REwEVkR”
From the article...
“Mexican senators are calling on Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto to halt the nation's cooperation with the U.S. on various issues after President Trump went on the attack against the country.
Mexico senators unanimously approved a non-binding statement Wednesday that says the government should suspend joint efforts "in the fight against transnational organized crime" until Trump exhibits "civility and respect that the people of Mexico deserve," the Associated Press reported.
The statement from the Mexican senators also rails against Trump for his "baseless and offensive comments about Mexico and Mexicans."
It calls for the U.S. Congress to demand that Trump treat Mexico with "respect" and opposes the move by Trump to deploy the National Guard to the country's southern border.”
What we have here is an example of what not to do to “make friends and influence people.”

before and after tuesday's election here... "Blue Wave" Hits Wisconsin
ETA I just read (somewhere-no link) that 4,000,000, that's FOUR MILLION, 4 with six zeroes, people will turn 18 and be eligible to vote before the Nov 2016 election. Hope they all exercise it.... My kids turned 18 last year. Instead of being “meh” about voting, they have voted in every election since. We just voted in the AZ-08 special election and DS was very excited when his early ballot arrived. He told me yesterday that he can’t wait to vote in November as well. There are some very angry young’uns Out there.

This by trump...
“The Caravan is largely broken up thanks to the strong immigration laws of Mexico and their willingness to use them so as not to cause a giant scene at our Border. Because of the Trump Administrations actions, Border crossings are at a still UNACCEPTABLE 46 year low. Stop drugs!”
Prompted this response by Josh Dawsey...
“Trump's message on the border has been at times, seemingly contradictory. 1) Border crossings are dropping and at record lows. 2) Urgent action - including sending troops and building a wall immediately - is needed more than ever.”
Which prompted this response by Bill Kristol...
“Trump's contradictory messages are not a bug but a feature of a demagogue in power. He wants to say both, "I've done great things for you--and only I could have gotten these things done," and "Threats remain everywhere, and I'm the only one who's willing to stand up to them."
Bottom line, trump is nuts.

Quick comment about Pruitt from a defender! “This is a man who is absolutely unassuming and austere in his personal habits,” Rivkin told NPR. He also dismissed concerns about Pruitt’s first-class travel. “The notion that flying these days whether in coach or first class is somehow pleasant, that you do it for personal enjoyment, is just silly," he said. www.politico.com/story/2018/04/04/scott-pruitt-trump-epa-job-456900Austere? Sure loves spending the taxpayer dollars!
