The federal judge overseeing the case against President Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, on Thursday appointed a former federal judge to review the documents seized in a raid of his office and hotel room, according to multiple reports. Judge Kimba Wood of the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York appointed Barbara Jones — who served a 16-year term on the Manhattan’s federal court and is now a partner at law firm Bracewell — to serve as the “special master" and decide which of Cohen's materials are protected by attorney-client privilege and what can be reviewed by federal prosecutors, the The New York Post reported. awww, you mean Trump won't get to review them himself to decide, like he wanted to?? I know right? He has no freaking idea about anything. He is a figurehead with no knowledge. He couldn't run a lego City. I laughed when I saw that video.

Merge Farnhold? Is that his name? Your governor wants him to pay for the a special election this summer!! He has not repaid US, the taxpayers. Blake Farenthold. Yes, Abbott thinks he should pay for the special election in addition to paying back the American taxpayers. It may be one of the sanest things Abbott’s ever said. Of course, it’s all just wind because Farenthold doesn’t have the money to pay either one.

The funny thing about the 'dandruff' is this: Macron is a smart dude. A really, really smart dude. I don't know why exactly he decided to come over now, or what his goal is. But I know - without a doubt - that Macron has something in mind that he wants out of Trump. And he's got a plan to get it. He's going to play the game, flattering the fool and letting him think he's getting a 'deal' of some sort, because he's such a great dealmaker. Trump is getting played and he has no idea that he's the rube. Macron is intelligent, and Trump is Trump. I fully expect to see a Tweet after Macron leaves: "Screwy Macron just agreed to buy back the Louisiana purchase for $30 million, more than twice what we paid for it. What a sucker. SAD!" Maybe parts of the US could be put into "foster care" with their former owners until this Trump mess is over. He's clearly an unfit parent. England can take the original 13 colonies, Spain can have Florida, France the Louisiana Purchase territories, Mexico can take Texas and most of the southwest ... just until things settle down and a responsible adult is in charge again. You'll have to sort out Massachusetts though because we're not having our tea thrown away again! You can't do that to a Brit, it's cruel

Time to start new thread. But first, the below quote is not how I see this thread. “ I haven’t necessarily abandoned this thread, but, obviously, there are a few from the opposing side of the fence who can’t seem to respect this thread as a place for us to talk amongst ourselves. I can’t see the liberal catch-all thread unless I log out, but have conservatives or Trump supporters invaded that thread? Is there some sort of ‘payback’ going on that I can’t see?”
This thread was started and continues to be a thread that all are welcome to post their thoughts about the subjects in the title. That’s deal when you post on a public message board, all are welcome. If one wants to limit who posts on “their” thread then maybe they should look into starting a private group, members only, someplace where it’s allowed. From what I understand that can be done. Are there certain folks I wish would not post on threads I start? Absolutely. That can be said about anyone who starts a thread. But again this is a public message board and they have the right to post on whatever thread catches their fancy. It’s called choice. You know, it’s a thing us liberals like. Choice. 😀 If those who post on the thread do so with the intent to disrupt they will be called on it. I personally like to read other’s views/opinions about something. I may not agree with their opinion and may sit and grumble about it but I appreciate the fact they shared. It. Even if I am grumbling. But I will no longer be tolerant of those who try and push what they believe as facts with nothing to back it up. Yesterday I started reading a study that all that misinformation pushed by the Russian bots and other third parties did have an affect on 2016 election. The question was how much. But when you think trump won the electoral college by roughly 100,000 votes spread across three states one has to wonder was it enough so that trump won. So facts matter. There be will be little spats and there will be big spats I’m sure and I wish that wasn’t the case. But that’s what happens when people from different parts of the country and the world, with different backgrounds and beliefs engage. Especially when it comes to politics. But in all that back and forth, sometimes somewhat testy, one just might learn something. And when you get to be my age learning something new is a good thing. That is why I personally will never put up the “you aren’t welcome” sign on any thread I start. Ok, I’m officially off my soapbox on this subject. This bears repeating and being read again...so I quoted. Thanks @fred Did something happen on another thread that I missed?

Cynthia Nixon.. “This video was just sent to me from Syracuse showing Customs and Border Patrol intimidating people as they get on their buses and trains. On my way right now to Syracuse to talk about this.” So I watched the video. And this dude walking up and down the line of people waiting to get on the bus. Looking them over very carefully. He stopped by one woman who was not a “blue eyed blonde” and asked to see something. He walked up to the person taking the video, real close, and stared. Then walked away. The guy was dressed a lot like the Navy seals on TV last night. Only thing missing was the rifle. Last time I checked Syracuse was not at the Southern Border of this country. This guy was really trying to intimidate these folks. So we have come to this now under trump? Really? 🚫 #MAGA. I watched the video and found his behavior to be polite and professional. He asked everyone the same question and if they said yes, he didn't ask to see any papers/proof. He asked if they were a citizen and presumably the first woman said no and he confirms she is a Resident Alien and looks at her green card. He was polite when he talked to the woman taping, and didn't just stare at her. Border Patrol agents don't just work at the border. Maybe living in San Diego we see this more than other parts of the country, but I regularly go through border check points northbound on the I5, I15 and CA86 and westbound on the I8. All of these checkpoints are 50-70 miles from a border crossing.

Cohen told associates he expected to be Trump’s first chief of staff: report BY JULIA MANCHESTER - 04/26/18 04:38 PM EDT President Trump's longtime personal attorney Michael Cohen reportedly told friends during the 2016 presidential race that he expected to be chosen as Trump's White House chief of staff, a position that eventually went to Reince Priebus. The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that Cohen also believed he would be tapped to be Trump's campaign chief, but the role was handed to Breitbart News executive Stephen Bannon. The details in the report, which explores the relationship between Trump and his longtime personal fixer, comes one day after Cohen asserted his Fifth Amendment rights in a lawsuit filed against him by adult-film star Stormy Daniels. ** Trump and Cohen have a long history of working together, with Cohen serving as Trump's personal lawyer and fixer for more than a decade. Cohen has also worked as an executive at the Trump Organization on various business deals More at link: thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/385074-cohen-told-associates-he-expected-to-be-trumps-first-chief-ofPoor me Cohen, he had his bigly dreams dashed! And to have been 'replaced'in is head by Bannon? yuck!

A Jesuit priest appointed by Boehner, who makes a factual, Christian observation in a prayer, is “partisan.” Ok.
They have no decency. None.

I despise SHS, and am not sure how she sleeps at night, but I don't like it when they make fun of her looks. She is appropriately dressed and takes care with her appearance. Her actions and words give us a million ways to rib her, I just don't think this should be one of them.

I mean she’s a beloved character, so would I have a problem if some staffer with some characteristics was being portrayed as Kermit or Beaker? Is Miss Piggy a sexist character to begin with? She always seems to be presented as a strong, sensual “woman” in my mind who knows what she wants and goes after it, yet it’s not a flattering association. But there is something about the characterization that is uncomfortable. Or am I the one projecting weight and looks here?

While watching Rachel I got to listen trump’s rant this morning on Fox & Friends. I got the part about McCabe’s wife getting $700,000 and how he is staying out of the DOJ but that might change and the hosts of Fox News all but hung up on him when it was clear he really was ranting and yelling. It was quite a show.
This is the guy that is going to “negotiate” for this country.

I just don't like mocking people based on their looks, and for better or for worse, Miss Piggy is associated with fat girls. (I may be a little hyper-sensitive on this particular subject.) Add in the eye issue that she clearly can't help and it's just plain mean. As dewryce said, I don't blame anyone here. I do object to the people who created the meme in the first place. But ya know, everyone has different things that set them off.

I agree with lucyg, it's the weight and the eye issue that bother me. While Miss Piggy is a strong woman and has good characteristics, that's not the comparison they're trying to draw. I have zero problems with the digs against Trump simply because he is a pig who has publically denigrated so many people based on looks. So I will admit I do sometimes find those cartoons funny. In general though, I don't.
