Current home = 34.5 years.
My first husband liked to move (apparently). We moved about every 6 months....grass was always greener for him.

23 years...and we plan(unless we win the lottery) to stay until Hubby retires 15-19 more years.

We were in our first home from 1986 to 2010. We then became empty nesters and the house across the street became available...so we moved there and have been there for the last 8 years with no plans to move any time soon. I grew up on a corner house - and one of the corner houses moved to another corner house. It was interesting to see them move all of their household contents with just one wheelbarrow and one dolly (quite a few trips). I lived in my childhood home (26 years) until I got married. My parents are still there and will never move. I've been in my married home for 21 years, and have no plans to move. I love my home, but not the location (neighbors are good). The idea of early retirement is more appealing than having a home in a better location.

I think my current house is the longest. I moved in the Saturday before Mothers day in 2009. From birth to 18 I lived in three houses (two different towns) Then my husband at the time moved several times while starting a career in teaching but that didn't pan out (1980s oil went bust and schools closed their music programs) so he joined the army which is not known for being a "live here forever" life. I stayed in Hawaii the longest but lived at 5 different addresses. I've now been in this town longer than I lived in Hawaii but I moved once.
We recently moved my grandma to assisted living. She had been in her house since sometime in the 1950. Over 60 years in one house.

FWIW--Hurricane Harvey is forcing my sister to leave her home (built in 1965). I figured it out--she is age 82 and has lived on that street her entire life, less about 10 years. She was born at home. Later she and DH built a home about 1/2 mile away on the same rural road. ...It is going to be strange for her to live in a different neighborhood. She is afraid of another flood so the new home will be away from any creek/stream.

I have lived here 34 yrs and don't plan on moving. since property taxes are based on sales price.. little incentive to move anywhere.

Since I left my parent's home? 5 years was the longest in one place. Dh was military, so we moved a lot. He has retired and we have now been in what is supposed to be our "forever home" for 2 years. But I'm not feeling it. We've put a lot of work into the house and it's gonna be an awesome house when we are done, but, Dh isn't very happy with his company and I'm not super excited about our location, so, I don't think this will be our last house.
My parents have been in their home for 38 years. It is really time for them to downsize, it's a 5 bedroom, 3 floor house and it's just the 2 of them with all the kids living close by. They don't need the space and it's becoming too much for them.

We had a home built in a subdivision in 1992 and we still live here. I never ever thought we would still be here. Prior to that the longest I lived anywhere was like 6 years.

But, large family and she is oldest daughter.........I'm much younger. She is a young age 82--is out in the yard planting/mowing or ?? all the time. No grass growing under her feet!

52 years!
I live in the house I grew up in.
We moved into it when I was 2; I moved out when I got married at age 20; then after my Mum died when I was 30 my DH, 2 children, and I, moved back into the house and my Dad moved into the little apartment that had been built onto the side of it for my grandparents to live in (Mum and Dad had renters in there after my grandparents died). So, I am 64 and have lived elsewhere a total of only 12 years.
My children went to the same schools that I did, and my younger son even taught at one of them after he qualified as a teacher.
Why no, our family isn’t known for moving far; why did you ask? 😄

My mom still lives in the house my parents bought, their first, in 1962. It still looks much as it did then.
DH and I live in the house we bought in 1990. We did a reno and added almost 900 sq feet in 2000. Plan to be here for a lot longer, health permitting!

My first husband and I lived in our house together for 7 years.
Next longest is my current home, almost 4 years.
I haven’t had the most stable life.

We moved into our house in 1990 a few months after our first anniversary and with a newborn in tow. We've had 3 additional kids, along with 2 additions to the house. Adult kiddos are saving for their own homes currently. House will be too darn big when they're gone so we talk about the fact that we need a new plan in a few years, but so far i'm not sure what the plan is.
Parent still in the home they bought in 1972 I believe.

I've lived in 9 places. Some were the same (moved back home). The longest outside of living with my parents was our last apartment. We were there for 6 years. We bought our house 4 years ago this coming July and don't plan on moving again.

My parents and I moved to my current home in 1982. When my father passed in 1986, even though there was no mortgage, there was no way my mom could afford the home by herself so I stayed and started to pay all the bills. When my husband and I married in 1996, luckily he loved my mom and we continued to stay. My mom passed in 2005 and the house became ours.
Sooooo, I’ve been in my home 36 years. LOVE it and my neighbors !

I lived in one home growing up for about 20 years. I’ve lived in my current house for 13 years and expect to be here another 20 or so. Certainly no plans to move until I need to downsize when the garden gets too big to manage.

It is hard for me to say exactly. I live in a certain house with my parents for 16 years. Then I got my own place and lived there fore a few years, but they retired and moved to FL and I bought their house from them and have been living there now for 24 years so I have lived in the same house for 40 years (with a few years break in the middle).

Bought our current house June of 1989 so just shy of 29 years. We originally thought we'd live there a while and then build our dream home, but after remodeling most of the inside and doing so many projects outside, we realized this IS our dream home. Lots of land, at the end of a dead-end road so no traffic and quiet neighborhood. We are empty nesters so the home is really too big for us now, but I think we'll stay a bit longer...

My parents bought their home in the late 70's and are still living in it. It was originally built in the 50's, but in the mid90's they did a major gut and remodel and essentially redid the entire house. I don't see them leaving any time soon. It is their retirement...they paid about $100,000 for it and it is now worth $3-4 million.
I lived there till college, then married dh right after college and we lived in a condo for 2 years. Then moved into our first home - which at the time we thought it would be where we would be for the long term. 10 years to the day that we closed on it we moved into our current home. I think that we will do some remodeling at some point - there is an unfinished basement that we could turn into 1 or 2 more floors if we wanted to - the house is built on a hillside. After that, I don't see us moving any time in the near future. My parents are 20 minutes away, my inlaws are 12 minutes away, my sister and her dh just moved back to the area as well. So there is no draw to go anywhere else. We are in a fantastic school district, we have great neighbors, we have 5 acres (which is very rare in the Bay Area), and if we wanted to move closer to either set of parents we would lose at least half of our square footage and be on less than a half acre and probably have to spend another million or two to get something close to what we have now. Plus the move is still fresh (and I was 30 weeks pregnant) and I don't want to do that again any time soon!

Between military life and a lot of other life changes, I have literally lost count of the number of times we have moved. The longest we stayed in one house was 4 years. I'm so used to moving that I get the itch to move every year or two. Someday I'll find my forever home. It had better be at the beach!

One month from today we will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. The majority of those years, almost 38 to be exact, we've lived here in the same house. Sometimes I wish we were in a one story but after all these good years I couldn't bear to leave this place.

I have lived in this house since I was 10. I was going to move out when I was in my 20's but my mom got sick so I stayed to help her. When she passed away I inherited the house. I've been here for almost 35 years. Before that we moved twice.
