Still really bad headache. It’s actually spreading. Vision is bad when I wake up but gets better during the day. I don’t normally wear glssses except to drive at night but they’ve been helping. Get to the ER... I spoke to the nurse this morning who has been treating me. She said she would not go st this point so I’m following her judgement. She’s going to call back tonight and check in..

I'm sorry you're dealing with this, it must be a bit scary as well as frustrating for you obviously. I hope you are really taking the advice seriously and I hope you're fully recovered soon.

Unless someone is typing and reading for you, GET OFF THE COMPUTER/TABLET/PHONE.
Seriously. We will be here when you get back.
And for the Peas posting here, don’t ask for an update, let Dani come back when she’s medically cleared.

Feel better soon Dani. Maybe moving in with Mom isn’t such a bad idea now. Please don’t respond to anything until you have the ok to do so. We love you very much.

Dani-Don't read this! Have someone read it to you! I'm so sorry this happened to you especially with the recent death of your Papa. Please follow the medical advice you've been given and stay off the computer, your phone and all other screens including the TV. You've got to give your brain a chance to heal. I hope someone is there with you reading this for you. If not please get off the computer (phone/device and read this later when you are cleared to). As other Peas have mentioned you wouldn't advise a person with a broken leg to go for a long hike the same week she broke it. You need lots of brain rest right now.
Again I'm so sorry this happened to you and I'm not trying to lecture you-I just want what's best for you because I care about you. I'm sending you big hugs and will be praying for you. If symptoms get any worse (I personally think that a spreading headache and worsening vision qualify) go to the ER. What's the worse that can happen? You're fine and they'll send you home. But if it's something else-you'll get the treatment you need right away and you'll be glad you went. I personally wouldn't take the advice of someone (anyone-nurse or doctor) who couldn't examine me over the phone when it came to something this serious.

You suffered a serious head injury & should be seeking an appointment ASAP with a neurologist &/or concussion specialist. Search for highly acclaimed/reputable concussion specialists in your area. When my teen suffered the first head injury teen was unconscious for ten minutes. Recovery was grueling, along with weeks of therapy. Almost a year to the day later another head injury/concussion was suffered. There are permanent effects as a result of two back-to-back head injuries.
My advice ...seek a close friend (one who is a Dr or RN will be vital) to help find the specialist & plead the necessity to see you ASAP. NO Stimulation ... NO electronics, computers, phones, TV, reading, bright lights or sounds. You need full & complete brain rest! It sucks, and far from easy, but your brain suffered a traumatic injury.
Don't hesitate to seek medical/ER attention ASAP should your symptoms get worse. Take this injury serious! You should also not be alone.
ETA: I don't wish to sound like Debby Downer, but sharing our experience. You might feel A LOT worse before you feel better. Teen's first injury recovery was brutal. We went through many stages, that the concussion specialist said were all "normal". The specialist would even forewarn us about what stages to expect next. At first teen was lethargic, tired, overwhelmed and very out of sorts. That stage quickly turned into having little to no impulse control or filter. That stage was scary! Teen doesn't even remember the first week after the injury. After the impulse/filter stage, teen experienced a depression. Life didn't stop for anyone else. Friends were still playing sports, going out together, having fun. Teen had to keep all stimulation to a minimum, along with reduced school hours (if requested), no homework, no tests, no end-of-year finals, rest during the school day whenever teen requested. Throughout recovery there was still no TV, computers, electronics, movies, stimulation, sports/spectator sports allowed.
After that stage came the anger stage. That was not pleasant! Teen was angry that life continued & teen was not recovered and cleared to play. The last stage was anger mixed with acceptance. Teen knew the ramifications if released too soon and another brain injury happened. Unfortunately, another head injury occurred a year to the date later. Teen has suffered permanent effects as a result.
Your work is doing a favor by protecting you & not allowing you to return to work.
Another thought ... should you need ER assistance, please have your friend/family member take you to a facility known for head injuries. Not all ER's are the same! Teen's first injury was at a smaller community, so that's where the ambulance took him (nearest hospital). Unfortunately, that was a mistake. Release directions gave no restrictions, which was not correct!

Dani, so sorry about this and so much great advice already.
Just to add how much more they know and how serious head injuries are taken now verses a few years ago, my son got a goose on his head last Sunday, was evaluated on the field for 30 minutes, evaluated Monday for 40 minutes, then again on Wednesday by a trainer and his Doctor, then seen on Friday by a specialist.
Hope your resting and you might be feeling better but a lot of times it gets worse a couple of days later.

Plus falling over the stool because you forgot it was there....You can't afford a fall, which could result in a second head injury. I hope someone has taken you to the ER for further medical attention.

Concussions build on each other. It doesn't sound like you are doing as well as you think. Listen to what they tell you to do!
