I’m usually quite private here about family situations but my father could use all of the prayers and thoughts he can get. He is 86. Last week he was having chest pains so he went to the ER. After several hours he was admitted and a nuclear stress test was done the next day. The machine to read the test wasn’t working so the hospitalist sent him home.
The next evening his family doctor called and said get him back to the ER stat. She was going to have him transferred by ambulance to a hospital in a larger city an hour and a half away where his cardiologist practices. We took him to the ER but it took 16 hours for them to get him transported.
Once he was at the new hospital they did a cath and found he had 90% blockage in one artery and significant blockage in 2 others which precluded having stents so he is scheduled for a triple bypass Friday morning.
He will be hospitalized for at least a week and then either sent to rehab or home. My mother is 83 and not too steady on her feet. She is taking this very hard and worried about caring for him. As all of my siblings work full time and I am retired, I will move home for the foreseeable future (I live an hour away) and help care for him.
Please pray that he makes it through the surgery. After that we will all work together and do whatever needs done to care for him. I am 60 and not ready to live without my amazing Daddy in my life.

That's quite an ordeal.  I hope everything goes smoothly, starting with his surgery. My mom had a bypass the other year and it did take her a bit to recover, but she's on vacation in the Virgin Islands now, so she's good. I'll keep your family in my thoughts. |

Oh my goodness!!! I can't believe a hospital sent your dad home because a machine wasn't working. That's so irresponsible!!!! And to wait 16 hours to be transported!! That's frustrating. Your poor mama. Lots of cyber hugs and great thoughts headed your way. I hope good things happen quickly.
