I don’t have the technical abilities to bring a copy of trump’s letter over here but CNBC provided some excerpts. Oh yes the Dow fell 150:points as soon as they heard.
“President Donald Trump has canceled his historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un next month.
The meeting, which would have marked the first face-to-face encounter between a sitting U.S. president and a North Korean leader, was set for June 12 in the southeastern Asian island city state.
"Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting," Trump wrote in a letter to Kim, which was released Thursday morning.
The news came as North Korea made a show of dismantling a nuclear test site, but also on the heels of some sharp words from the North Korean government about American demands regarding denuclearization.
While much of the letter was written in conciliatory terms, Trump appeared to issue a threat that conjured memories of his war of words with Kim last year.
"You talk about your nuclear capabilities, but ours are so massive and powerful that I pray to God they will never have to be used," Trump wrote in the letter.”

What frightens me most of all is the blind devotion of his followers. I can tell you that if I voted for someone who proceeded to act this way, I would do everything possible to make sure they never held office again.

I just turned on CNN and caught just a small part of Pompeo reading the message from Trump to KJU. OMG, it sounded like a middle school letter. I don't know how he kept a straight face.

And if the truth was known it was probably KJU that called it off first....whatever anyone thinks of KJU and I'm certainly not a fan of him but no one would agree to meeting anyone when they've been threatened, not once but twice, with what happened to another leader, actually two leaders, when they didn't tow the line.

South Korea said Nobel Peace Prize, not the U.S. And Trump said from the very beginning "we'll see" if this summit goes forward. The left for now will take a short time to celebrate the summit falling apart, and then begin rebuilding their bomb shelters all the while crying for another democrat to get back in office to "save" us.  |

Now they will bluster, and then make more advances, and maybe an inspection, and we will give some such bullshit in return, and then they will storm off, and and and here will be again as we have for the past 15 years since they got the capability. They ain’t giving it up. You aren’t going to negotiate that. You dont want a war, and neither do they, so here we all sit and everyone knows that you morons.
It’s a good old fashioned stalemate and we aren’t diplomacy-ing our way out, particularly as we have no decent diplomats (see the Qaddafi statement for an example) or even an ambassador to South Korea.
But sure, it’s all Obama’s fault🙄

I have no glee that the talks have been cancelled. It is unfortunate that they cannot grow up, BOTH of them, and get the job done. I did not expect a lot, because normally there are many many low level talks before the leaders meet.

I simply said that I wasn't surprised (and I believe that is what others are saying as well). If you read the conservative thread a few weeks ago, we were berated for not giving Trump props and acknowledging his greatness and diplomacy efforts. People were cautious and said that nothing had really happened yet, and it was too early to speculate what would happen, positive or negative. And here we are. The meeting is cancelled and we will see what happens. |

The only thing I'm gleeful about is that Trump supporters are once again being forced to see that their guy is not the big savior they think he is. Hopefully one or two of them will see the light.
