given how the family feels, it seems like a no brainer, he goes with you. Especially since you want him buried with you. YOU need to keep track of him.

I think you will feel better if you take the cremains with you. Hugs to you. I hope you enjoy Houston. We lived there for ten years and loved it. Thank you. I love Houston. I lived there for 13 years - and all my kids were born there. Cindy Good for you for making this move for yourself! I'm excited to hear more about your adventure, and how your job search goes!

Our sons ashes are in the urn and buried in a small vault at the cemetery. I did not want to keep the ashes at home, and this seemed at the time to be the most common thing to do. We have the whole plot so our other son and DH and I will all be buried there with him.

I love this idea. You don't have to put all the ashes there; you can leave some with you. I'm sorry about this difficult decision, but I'm happy you're ready to start your life. Take your son with you to your new life, too! This is only a nice idea if you know that future owners of the house will keep the tree. When we sold our first house, the new owners cut down 3 of our trees. One of those trees was very special to us so it was a hard thing to accept. When we bought our current home, we cut several trees down as well. Many trees in our neighborhood are taken down as new owners move in and don't want as much shade or like the leaves dropping, etc.
Just a thought that trees aren't always forever.

If it were my child, and knowing your h doesn’t care, they would go wherever I went.

I would like Zack to be buried with me someday.
Cindy
ETA: That would be his punishment for leaving me to start with. J/K (kinda)
This made me cry. Please take him with you. His home is with you. xx

Yeah Cindy, how ARE you doing? FB memories popped up today with a pic from the Houston Pea Gathering that you were at - SIX years ago! It's been way too long!

Yeah Cindy, how ARE you doing? FB memories popped up today with a pic from the Houston Pea Gathering that you were at - SIX years ago! It's been way too long! I'm doing good. I moved into my apartment last week. Its been fun decorating and getting things just how I want it. Still lots to do. My scrapbook room furniture and supplies will be delivered in a few days - unpacking 25 boxes of scrapbook supplies should keep me busy for awhile. And I can't wait to get back to crafting!
Although I'm the kind of person that enjoys my alone time - I need to get out there and meet people - getting kind of bored and lonely. I hope we can have another Pea dinner soon! Can't wait to see you again!
Cindy

This is is what I was going to say. Home isn’t necessarily a stationary location and it seems clear that your son’s is with you, wherever you might be.

Take them with you. His home is with you. I agree. There are two graves of close family members that I don’t visit really because I don’t travel to those states. I wouldn’t want to bury them in a location that is far from me. I’d take them.
