This brings up that age-old debate we have here about what defines a vacation.
I answered two because I usually have at least two week-long or longer "vacations" that are purely for pleasure and travel each year.
But that doesn't include girls' weekends, family trips, business trips combined with pleasure, and so forth.
I love travel and will pack a bag to go just about any where at any time.

We have a small condo at the beach so we do at least once a month weekend there during the school year and almost every weekend in the summer, with an added full week or two thrown in.
It is too hard to be here for Christmas so the past 2 years we went to Puerto Rico and Paris.
My best friend turns 50 this year and we are going to Punta Cana together in August (7 of us) so our Christmas trip may be low key and maybe to Vegas/Grand Canyon.

We usually do just one big trip (7-10 days) a year. Often to western states (California, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, South Dakota, Colorado...) This year we are headed to Maine for 8 days and very much looking forward to it. I have summers off, but DH doesn't get much vacation time. Since we only go once a year, we try to treat ourselves to nice accomodations and good food.
My dream and hope for retirement is more travel.

We almost exclusively RV now for our vacations, and that means two week-to-10-day trips per year with a few long weekends thrown in from spring to fall.

I don't count visiting the grandchildren in Montana, DH's family in Texas, and MIL in Arizona as vacation. DH does. We don't agree on what "vacation" is, LOL. He doesn't realize those trips are a lot of work for me.
Because I use a lot of my vacation time caregiving, we have not had what I consider a proper vacation in ten years. I admit, I am getting jealous of all the trips my friends and family have been taking!

Depends. Some years we go 2-3 times; some years we go only once. Lately DH and I have started taking long weekends away without the kids (MIL comes to stay with them). That's the best vacation, I think. I love my kids but they are not the best travelers.

We always do a week somewhere each summer, unless we’re saving up for something else big. Other than that, we do a weekend away now and then.
This year’s vacation is a week in August at a place in Missouri called Big Cedar Lodge.

It really varies for me. I get 3 weeks a year, but usually 1-2 weeks I take days off here and there to do appointments, take a long weekend etc.
I try to take one week a year away, but I was a single mom for a long time and didn't always have the money to travel a lot. I always made an effort to take my son places at least every other year (I live in NY and we drove to Boston, North Carolina, etc) all places not to terribly far to drive.
Now I'm traveling more mostly because of my boyfriend. We took our kids down to Virginia Beach for a week to visit his family a couple months ago. Monday the two of us are flying to Maui for a week!
I'd love to travel more though if funds allow.

We are on the go on weekends a lot, and I do count weekend trips as vacation. We go to our lake house almost every weekend in the summer, and generally once a month in the winter. It’s convenient that we can take our dogs with us!
During college football season, we generally go two away games, which turn into long weekends away. Our son goes to law school in another state and we go two or three weekends a year to see him.
I usually go on one or two girls’ weekend trips a year and my husband goes on a couple of trips with his friends as well.
We try and go on a one week vacation once a year.
I didn’t realize how often we are gone on the weekends until I wrote this reply!

Maybe once at spring break and a long trip during the summer to the coast. Sometimes, we go at winter break, but that doesn’t always happen.

We usually go to SoCal at least once a year, somewhere else (or SoCal again) for a second vacation, and then a long weekend or 2 or 3, within driving distance, i.e. Banff.

It really varies and depends on the definition of a vacation. We usually take at least one longer family trip a year and a couple of long weekends, either with or without the kids. DH and I will also tag along on business trips with one another and add a day or two for fun.
Traveling was not something that either DH or I did as kids. We both love to travel and want to expose our kids to experience we didn't have until well into adulthood. I wish we had the time and easier access to other countries that Europeans enjoy!

Other - typically three to five times a year. We do at least one international trip with the boys (typically to dive), at least one international trip with just DH (either to dive or Europe), and typically a weekend trip or two domestically. The boys also travel to visit either my family, or DH's.
I swear I work for the sole purpose of being able to afford to travel.

As often as I can! Last year, we had one big trip. This year, it will be 4 smaller trips (3 are long weekends) by the time we are done.

We go to the IL’s home in the NC mountains once a year... May I ask where & when? Our paths may cross! Sure! It’s in Franklin, usually right around Memorial Day. And, since both DH’s parents and his sister’s family live in NC (Greensboro), we are planning on retiring somewhere near Asheville, though not any time soon.

We go somewhere warm in the winter, for spring break, usually 9 days. Then a summer vacation of 9-12 days. Then some years it depends. We usually get to the mountains once or twice sometimes for a 3 day weekend, which are 5 hours from here. Sometimes we've gone on another 5-6 day trip. Sometimes I've gone for the weekend for a friend. I had gone on a few scraping weekends in the past.
I count anything out of your house a a vacation. Anything that is a break from routine. Anything that rejouvnvates you or relaxes you. It all counts.

Once a year we take a week vacation. Until about five years ago it was more like a 3-4 day vacation as that was all we could handle budget wise, sometimes not even that.
Now we take a week plus a day or two travel time each summer. We may also take a couple of in state weekend trips.
I love to travel. I wish we had a larger budget for it AND that I didn't have a fear of flying. I can do it, but I really really do not like it and have only flown a few times in my life, only once as an adult.
ETA: This year we may take a second vacation. We are still deciding.

I voted other. I don’t consider a one or two day trip a vacation.
The last time we went on a real vacation was in January 2012. We were gone for about nine days. We kenneled our two dogs and the older dog got a really bad case of kennel cough. She died about a week after we picked her up from the kennel.
We currently have three dogs that I refuse to kennel for more than a day or two. I just won’t risk it. My DH loves to fish, so he goes on 7-10 fly-in fishing trips to remote Canadian fishing resorts with his brother or our son-in-law. Fine by me!
Plus, we are retired and on SS. Our investment counselor really frowns on us using our funds for anything frivolous like vacations. It’s very foolish financially. Fine if you have the recommended $2 million each saved by retirement, but sadly we don’t. It’s a really good thing that I don’t like to travel anyway. Flying terrifies me!

We usually do one week at an all-inclusive and a couple of days in Vegas for sure. Other ones might pop up here and there. Now that we are both retired and works doesn't dictate when we can go on vacation, it is much easier (and cheaper).

I have never loved vacation and usually can’t wait to come back home. This year,we aren’t going anywhere for the summer. Am I unusual? I love to just stay home too. I had thought it was because we moved so often and saw so much in the course of my younger life that staying home just feels good. My summer vacation this year is to my parents (two hours) to visit them. My dd and her family will come so I'll visit them too.

I find traveling to be exhausting though usually enjoyable. I don’t expect to travel every year but I am going to make it my mission to take the time off work that I earn, just for the mental break.
However, when I do travel I do not hesitate to take ‘down time’ while there. I do not schedule every day because I’m fine taking some time reading or jst wandering. I also do not schedule every minute of the days I do loosely schedule. Sometimes you jst want to relax. And that’s just fine. I’m never going to see everything another place has to offer so I decided not to even try. To just go and be present and soak things in.
Nothing explained to me how much I recharge during down time as having to work required overtime weekends last summer. Geez that was exhausting.
So no I don’t travel every year but I’m also going to use my days before I loose them every year.
So as long as your finding time to be yourself and recharge no I don’t think you are weird.

Not that often. Some years I do a long weekend away to visit a friend in the South Island, every few years I travel to Europe to visit family and friends. I do still love travel, but not nearly as much as I used to. Nowadays I'm a real homebody.

We're retired so we go whenever the spirit moves us. So far this year we've been on 2 cruises (with one more booked for Oct.), gone to TN for our son's graduation (PhD, finally!) and I did a girls trip (with 49 other women, what a blast). We're going back to TN in a couple of weeks for a concert and visit friends. We have done a couple of short trips around the state (FL), just a night or 2 away, so does that count as a 'vacation'? I'm always ready to pack.

I do not like traveling but I like being on vacation, if that makes sense. Unfortunately we just can’t afford it and husband only gets 10 days of vacation/sick time so he has to use it prudently. Sadly we’ve only had 2 vacations in the last 20 years. One week at the beach for a family wedding and a long weekend at the beach a couple of years ago. Sometimes I worry the lack of vacation may send my poor husband to an early grave. He needs to get away!

"Other". We tend to go away on a trip of more than just a day or two every other year. There are exceptions, of course. A few times we took those trips on back to back years, and sometimes, two years have gone by between trips. On the no-trip years, we do day trips and perhaps a weekend trip here or there. This summer we have many day trips and one long weekend trip planned so far. No long trip. Last year was the same. But we're planning actual trips for both 2019 and 2020 right now.
ETA: With both kids being school age now, and having classes & sports outside of school, our actual vacations have to be planned around the kids more than anything. When they are out of school, I think DH & I would likely try for at least one trip a year. For instance, we were originally supposed to go to the beach this year, but by the time January was over we realized that our kids would still be in school when we were planning to go, and we didn't have a good alternate time available this year with our other plans and their plans already in place.

We are a two income family with busy kids so getting away during the school year is hard. We use school breaks to relax at home and we are lucky to have lots of good things to see within day trip distances. I get a summer break and try to take a two week vacation or staycation during that time. Often that is just a trip to a friend’s lake house or to the beach and sometimes it’s a trip further afield. Usually I go to one professional conference a year, last year was Orlando, this year is New Orleans, we build some tourist time around those sometimes too.

For us every year is different.
Last year we did 2 7 day cruises. This year I did a week long bucket list trip with my mom in April & in November were going on a cruise.
Previously we have done month long road trips trying to hit as many theme parks as possible. Last year I changed jobs & couldn't take a whole month off.
