3 times a year. But two times are to my in-laws' cabin in the mountains for a long weekend, so it's free. We try to go once a year for a week to somewhere out of state (usually San Diego).

What counts as a vacation? Does just one night away in a hotel count? A long weekend at a resort? A few days staying with family on the beach?

We go away for at least a week at least twice a year. Several shorter trips - long weekends, etc - as well.

I love to travel and wish we could go away somewhere every year but we don’t. Most of our down time is spent at our lake cabin and some years we don’t even get a full straight week off to go there. The nice thing is that it’s close enough to go for just the day or for a weekend. The expense of the taxes and upkeep for a second home is easily what most people would spend on a nice family vacation away every year, so it’s the trade off we make. The last “real” family vacation we went on was in 2015. We have no vacations planned for the rest of this year but we have two big trips planned for next year. That’s unusual for us but we’re celebrating our 30th so we’re splurging a little.

We mostly do long weekends and those are usually in the RV. We usually take it out 6-7 times a year. Last year was the first vacation dh and I have taken just the two of us. Now that dd is an adult we will be doing more of those Next year we are going to San Diego for a week.

We go on one 7 to 10 day vacation every year, but we take weekend trips about every 3 months. I love my home, but also love getting away and experiencing other places.

We go to the IL’s home in the NC mountains once a year, free of charge, and usually to Orlando Area for another week. About every 3 to 4 years, we take a big trip (Hawaii, Ireland, etc.) So, twice a year guaranteed with Sometimes a third.

We work 4 on 4 off... so 4 days off we will do a long weekend to dallas austin or san antonio...
We try to go somewhere each month but they are not week long trips like the beach trips..

An actual vacation in a destination so far from home that you can't drive there and back in one day? About once every 7-10 years. I average a day trip somewhere about once a year.

It depends for me. Every 2 years we do a big vacation. This year we did a Baltic Cruise in May. I go to S. Cali for Christmas every year. And this year I'm going for a long weekend to Anaheim. So, 3 this year.

Other. we have a vacation home in another country that we have to fly to - so we go about 4-5 times a year if we can, usually for 2 weeks at a time. Plus camping trips & weekend getaways to other places. My dh is self-employed & at the stage where he can take a bunch of time off & work around it. I'm still on medical leave so I've had the freedom to go a bunch, and I'm liking it so much I may end up quitting my job at the end of this year

Nothing beats sleeping in my own bed and not wondering if my dogs are ok. Now that MIL has moved away, we will have to board our dogs when we go on vacation and I can't bring myself to do that. We went to London a couple of years ago and back east last year. I think I'm good for now. DH disagrees. He wants a vacation soon. That will be an interesting discussion.

3-4 times a year if you count long weekends. But twice a year it’s to see family in MN, so it’s not that exciting. But I have to send the dog to camp, sleep in beds with horrible mattresses, pack, and it costs a fortune. So I count it all.

We never really went on real vacations until a couple of years ago. Our daughters are both adults now and I have felt a little guilt over it, but we’ve been on 4 cruises in the past 2 years. However, this year, we hosted a wedding and have decided to remodel the bathroom, so most likely no vacation this year. Crossing my fingers that the cruises start up again next year!

We go away two or three times a year. DH gets 6 weeks vacation time, and we are lucky enough to be living in Europe at the moment, so we are making the most of it. Last night we booked vacation #2 for the year - a week on Santorini. That will probably be it for couple trips this year, but my sisters are visiting from Australia later in the year and I will be travelling with them a fair bit.

We do 3 week long trips during the school holidays, and in summer ds and dh do a 2.5 week mountain biking trip and I take ds to Indiana to see my family for two weeks. Plus weekends here and there.

Depends on what you consider a vacation. We go to the in-laws, about 4.5 hours away, anywhere from 3-7 times a year. And with his side of the family (sisters, cousins, friends of family) we go "camping" at least once a year. By camping we mean cabins with electricity, bathroom and kitchen. Or Schlitterbahn in hotels. Or short girly trips in close resorts with the women from his family. DH and his mom do half-marathons so we travel for those and will stay in a hotel. And now, DH is doing triathlons and in preperation for his first half-ironman we are traveling once a month for various races, staying a night or two in a hotel and making a week-end getaway out of it. All in state this year, though it's a darn big state. But for me, these are all "trips," not vacations.
Next year we are hoping to go to Canada and St. Louis for a half-ironman and ironman, respectively. We plan to be gone at least a week for each of them. Those, I will consider vacations. And while we used to go on several a year, we drastically cut down once we started our infertility journey in 2010.

The pets are a big concern, and I love my own bed. I’ve visited many of the places I wanted to see. Three days seems to be my limit for being away before I start getting antsy to go home. My husband does not seem to feel the same way, so I mostly go for his sake. I’ve never shared my feelings with him about this because I want him to enjoy his vacation. We have usually gone once a year, sometimes twice, for 1-2 weeks.

As often as we can, so to me, not liking traveling does seem unusual We usually go to southern Portugal with family (DDs, their partners, grandson and MIL/SIL) to somewhere that's home from home as we've been going to the area for more than 30 years and love it. Then we usually go somewhere new to explore on our own. Often there's a few weekends/city breaks fitted in to the year too if we can. Being in Europe makes traveling to more countries very do-able and there's so many places I want to see

At least three times a year.
We rent a cabin in the mountains every easter for ten days. Ten days of skiing, board games and family meals with our big, extended family.
We do a two week summer vacation to a warmer destination, usually near the Mediterranean.
I take one of my children to a destination of their choice once a year rotating between the two of them. My mother comes along and it’s been such an amazing memory-building adventure. This year we took my 14 year old too cool for school son to Rome. He was loving it and even willingly participated in frequent photosessions 😁
Two years during fall we’ve done a family road trip through parts of Europe. The end destination has been Essen spiel, which is the larges board game trade fair in the world (I think).
We love to travel as a family!

Twice a year to go skiing (DH and DD will go skiing, I'm in a comfy chair in the cabin reading a book and eating chocolate.) and abroad once in summer. My back hates sleeping anywhere else but at home, so if it was up to me, I would never leave my home over night.
