When the press starts to speculate within an hour of this shooting that it was because of Trump, it's importance to our democracy is diminished. Each and every story they cover that's smothered in their opinions makes them even less credible as true journalists, and nothing more than entertainment outlets. The left wing news outlets are nothing more than media activists for the left. It's disgusting. Take your blinders off. And what do you think Foxnews is ... your blinders are a darker shade then mine ps Hannity should apologize to Maxine Walters Sean Hannity isn't a journalist, he's entertainment t.v. I'm not impressed with entertainers that take it too far. Unlike the left that applauds the over the top directed towards anyone on the right. So no, I wasn't laughing at Sean Hannity.
Mid-day news on CNN and MSNBC, and their "journalists," started in on the Trump theories almost immediately.

You mean like this? www.thedailybeast.com/sean-hannity-immediately-blames-maxine-waters-for-capitol-gazette-shootingETA: I consider the Daily Beast a rag but it’s an audio clip straight from the horses mouth. Wolf Blitzer (CNN) and Ali Velshi (MSNBC) are supposed journalists. Their jobs are to be impartial, fair and balanced. Right off the bat both of them started in on the "is Trump to blame for this shooting?" I was watching it live, and switching between all of the channels. Only CNN and MSNBC went down that road.
A Reuters editor said Trump "had blood on his hands." He later apologized for jumping to conclusions and removed his original comments. Reuters can't even be trusted to state the facts?
Sean Hannity is a conservative political commentator, talk show host, NOT a journalist. Rachel Maddow is MSNBC's liberal counterpart.
See the difference?
I'm not amused with Sean Hannity, but I'm also not amused with Jim Acosta. He has put himself on the same level as Hannity. I would expect Sean Hannity to receive as warm a welcome at a DNC event that Jim Acosta received at Trump's event.

Conservative Twitter is freaking out that his last name is Ramos but he’s being listed as a white male. Inconceivable! Trumpers have apparently never heard of Spain.

Hannity will say or do anything to please the president and I believe that history will not be kind to either of them .

I'm also not amused nor impressed with Samantha Bee or Bill Maher. I'm smart enough to know it's OPINION, though apparently not everybody is. However the way "journalists" have turned in their press credentials for entertainment passes is showing how this country, and it's fair NEWS coverage (or lack thereof) is quickly disappearing.
I watched CNN and MSNBC myself yesterday. I heard the coverage. It was almost like CNN and MSNBC got the same memo from the DNC. It was absolutely biased, slanted, and had an agenda. It's sickening.
edited: Also, the way you continue to criticize Hannity, while ignoring the behavior of actual journalists, shows who you are. Go figure.

Oh well, to each their own. Nicolle Wallace is a former WH Communications Director for a Republican administration. She's a Berkeley grad and has a master's degree in journalism from one of the best journalism schools in the country. Sean Hannity is a college dropout and former radio talk show host. Guess which one our president calls for advice. I don't like TV news. I think the constant need for high ratings impels hosts to think in terms of pithy soundbites and sensationalism rather than deep and thoughtful coverage. Of course, it doesn't reflect well on us as a country that soundbites and sensationalism are what keeps us watching. But I also don't think you can remotely put Sean Hannity in the same league as Nicolle Wallace. ETA: I think Fox viewers have become so used to their constant slavering over the president that they view any negative coverage of him as "slanted" and "fake news." I can't imagine where they got that idea.

Nicolle Wallace's show is ALL opinion. I don't care where her degree is from, she's nothing more than yet another opinion contributor. She might have worked under Bush, she's absolutely a liberal now. And her show is all liberals, all the time.
I can see B.S. opinion contributors for what they are, no matter what network. Only the left criticizes Fox yet applauds their own left-wing heros.

(Also, what do you mean by your first comment?) I took it to mean that she was pointing out that a pea had posted something without realizing that it outed them. As in, they slipped up. Well, this is a pickle. I regretted the speculative comment, and your inference is correct, but it’s just not in me to resist the lure of explaining a metaphor:

And what do you think Foxnews is ... your blinders are a darker shade then mine ps Hannity should apologize to Maxine Walters Maxine Waters should apologize to the American public! This is what she said :Let's make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere. We've got to get the children connected to their parents," Waters said at the Wilshire Federal Building, according to video of the event. I think it’s a very pale in comparison to what this president has said on multiple occasions

and a tweet from SHS
Press Secretary Sarah Sanders added in a tweet: "Strongly condemn the evil act of senseless violence in Annapolis, MD. A violent attack on innocent journalists doing their job is an attack on every American. Our prayers are with the victims and their friends and families."
Again
"A violent attack on innocent journalists doing their job is an attack on every American."
The irony!
An attack can be physical or verbal.
Hey Sarah 'Tell your boss'.

You are gross for posting this. It's totally irrelevant to mass shootings. It isn't irrelevant, it shows that people will use what they have to do evil.

I'll be honest here, the first time I read this I was thinking finally they got something right. But then I reread it. An attack on innocent journalists? Why the distinction? If she and her boss didn't hold them all with such contempt and didn't typically make disparaging comments about them I wouldn't have blinked twice. But words matter, and as it's her job to twist individual words and their meanings around to suit her purposes, she knows this.

You mean anti-media rhetoric or did I miss something? I mean anti-American, because the press is an important part of democracy. And people keep forgetting that to denigrate and threaten the press is to do damage to a foundational principal of our government. We have a constitutional republic...

I’m just pointing out that one of those parties has an actual background in national politics and an awareness of the expectations for journalistic integrity. The other ... does not.

Jeez, the ignorance! 🙄 Motivated ignorance is what they proudly call it, right? My last name is Pakistani. My husband and I are the whitest people to ever white. There are many ways to obtain a last name. People are just butt hurt that they can't blame the shooting on a person of color after they got their hopes up based on his last name.

Shame that they don’t have a brain to think for themselves, and keep up with the rhetoric that liberals never, ever, do/speak out/say anything and it’s all bad bad bad.

I have a Spanish last name. I am whiter-than-white and Ashkenazi Jewish.
My kids have a Spanish last name. They are pretty much whiter-than-white and half-Jewish.
My grandson has a Spanish last name. He is half-Asian and looks Asian. According to the right wing, I guess that less-than-one-fourth Mexican DNA he carries makes him Mexican. The 21st-century version of the one-drop rule?
