I still will never understand people who say “but I didn't voteforTrump” who come here and argue and deflect, accuse and call the left names. If you did NOT vote for him, are you just arguing because you hate the Dems so much that you can't help it? If so, then you are no better than the people on the left you are bitching about day after day. Sometimes I think it's just getting jollies at this point. “ I didn't vote for the guy, I think he's disgraceful, but ai'm going to defend and support him just to sit back and laugh.” That's what it looks like. That's pathetic. bolded = winner winner chicken dinner

Look, the president went and did this right after twelve people were indicted for election shenanigans and it really doesn’t matter who you voted for or how you feel about the people who didn’t vote for Trump. Things are bad and Congress has abandoned oversight. Demand Congress exercise its constitutional oversight and vote out anyone in it who will not do so. Exactly.

My husband is neither an idiot nor an asshole, so, luckily, he didn't vote for Trump, and our conversations are fine. It's funny how that works out. Ah, yet some of your vocal right-hating friends here have found themselves in quite a predicament. They find themselves dating, or even worse, having married an "idiot or asshole" (as you put it) that ended up voting for Trump, lol. Those are the conversations I'm curious about. I can only imagine:
"Traitor, put some more steaks on the grill."
"Hey racist, pass the potatoes."
I do wonder what your friends that are dating or married to a Trump voter think of you and others referring to them as assholes and idiots. Not husband, but the rest of my immediate family voted for that evil, evil man. Even though our relationships have been strained over these interminable months of the evil one's presidency, we have actually managed to maintain cordial relations. The silence from their side in the ensuing months has been deafening though, LOL, and no one has attempted to "educate me" in quite a long time. I they are all feeling rather sheepish that the economic benefits have not manifested, as they had hoped.

I am flabbergasted. Russia and NK are friends and the EU is a foe? And this is ok with GOP? When will we put country over party? ? At this point I have no doubt that half the GOP leadership is in on this. It defies belief almost, but what other explanation could there be, given their actions/inactions.

Putin and Trump were scheduled to meet alone without any US representatives in attendance. Did that happen according to plan? Please tell me they weren't alone for hours? Apart from translators, yes they were. Who normally attends these? My husband doesn’t find the fact that they are alone shocking, I am shocked he isn’t shocked!

You yourself admit that what Trump is doing is a disgrace, yet all you keep ranting about is how you're curious about is how dinner conversations go? Stop! This isn't you or them, it's an US issue. The USA is under attack, yo. Get your priorities straight. On November 9, 2016 the collective left woke up and declared war on Trump voters. Trump voters have been classified as racists, bigots, Nazis, traitors, and every other slur and insult one can think of. There are people from other countries calling Trump voters traitors now. Yes, Trump's behavior is a disgrace. Now we have the disgraceful behavior of the collective left. This behavior towards the right is over the top, whether you see it, or will admit to it, or not.
In what way is it disgraceful to speak out against traitorous behavior? I think you mean patriotism.

That's nice. Unless and until the house starts impeachment proceedings against him, it might as well be "thoughts and prayers." I'm actually watching Fox News right now (egads!!) to see where they stand today. This Tucker Carlson mouthbreather, with his over the top girlish intonation is driving me mad! How is it that Fox (entertainment) "News" gets these empty-headed mouth breathers to head their shows??? This douche is trying desperately to drive home that Russia is NOT the enemy (like China should be). It's downright scary!!
As a sidenote, DH, who stupidly voted for Trump in this election (he's been very liberal in his thinking his entire life!) because "there was no choice with HRC" for all of the reasons Fox and other dopes pushed. So many elderly men fell for this crap (even though I tried to pull up ALL real info on Trump dating back to the 1980's). NOW, today he's saying that HRC would have been a "much better choice". Really??? He's FINALLY admitting that his vote was a huge mistake. Too little too late. Wondering how many people who fell for Trump's faux-American schpeal, are feeling a little stupid and regretful tonight??

I hope they are, because that means there is a chance for them to try and make it right. To vote for people in the midterms who will not sit passively by and let this happen, or worse be an active part in it. I truly believe that while people make mistakes, what matters is how they deal with them. Personally, while I question the critical thinking and research skills of anyone who voted for Trump, I didn't judge them nearly as harshly as I do those who are still supporting him. When they voted for him I didn't assume, for example, that they shared his hatred and scorn towards many groups of people, I was more likely to assume they listened to the wrong media and their excuses for his behavior and were hoodwinked. Now though? There is no way they can still be clueless as to how he was covered (or not) by the media and what he is really about and so if they still support him? You want to sit there today and tell me you're glad you voted for him because your 401K has grown and you like some of his policies...all the while ignoring his devisive racist/sexist/xenophobic attitude, immigration policies, flat out dishonesty, isolating us on a world stage and everything else he and his administration has done...while the rest of the GOP does nothing? Damn straight I will judge you.

So what DO you think about the news conference? I think it's a disgrace. But we'll survive.
This week the world is ending because of Putin/Russia. Last week the world was ending because of Kavanaugh. The week before, the border? I can't even keep up.
Th point is each week it's something literally worse than the week before.

Today he saw the truth and it scared him. He actually said that he could see Putin and Trump taking over America, which would be frightening (it's already scary!). As far as his next vote, and the possibility that many people who made the mistake of believing this salesman's crap might vote more rationally, I'm pretty scared about our entire election process for November. NOTHING has been done to safeguard it. I don't have too much faith right now unless every single State has a way to safeguard it.

It has taken a while, and pulling up lots and lots of different sources for him to finally see how the wool was pulled over his eyes, and it's been hard for him. I get that. And I agree about the next election, at this point the public at least isn't even aware of the entire scope of what the Russian hackers did. Was it just gathering date? What did they do with all of those voter records? Did they mess with the software? And I remember reading something within the last 6 months stating that there was a budget set up to fight the interference and it hadn't been touched, and that Trump wasn't involved/interested in the process. Very scary.

I feel sick. I finally got home to see some of this media coverage. And I feel sick to my stomach.
Just out of curiosity, I turned on hannity. I can't believe that anyone wants to defend this.
And please don't take the bait that samiam is throwing to derail this thread.

And now they are talking about how we finance NATO and the EU doesn't do enough and kills us in trade. He actually said he has great relationships with the European leaders. @@

Not all conservatives, Republicans and/or Evangelicals are bigots, racists, Nazis, etc.. But we know some are. Some are honest hard working citizens, hoping and voting for their best outcome. They are not responsible for everything that is wrong in the country, nor am I...
We all need to remember that it does no good to vote for someone on one issue, you need to vote the whole person. Know who you are voting for and what they truly believe. Where they have come from and their past history.
The present person has drawn out the worst of the worst and I do think that many have been blindsided by the results. Trump has been the leader of name calling, he has been abusive to his Cabinet members as well as Congress, reporters, the public, Veterans, the list is not so short... There is just no reason for any of it. It is beneath the position of President.

Remember when the Dixie Chicks went to London and told concert goers that they were ashamed that the President of the United States was from Texas… Yeah… I was thinking about this today as well. I can’t believe it is the same people who made such a big deal about the Dixie Chicks that are now ok with the president taking sides with Russia over our own intelligence. And that didn’t just happen today. He has been saying that since day one.

Just imagine or Obama saying what Trump said. What would you be doing or saying? Don’t lie to yourself. I am sure you criticized Obama’s “apology” tour. Yah, you did didn’t you. What do you call what Trump said today? The US is to blame?
