Not that you know of.
But do carry on being proud of telling people they're idiots or assholes. What makes you think I have to tell them? If I tell my son over and over that he will trip over his clothes if he doesn't pick them up, and he ignores that and trips, I certainly don't need to say anything. He knows he's an idiot. If someone chooses to play around with knives and then gets cut, I don't need to tell them they're an idiot... they know. Whether they admit it or not. But do carry on telling me how I'm the problem. Those poor Trump voters, dealing with all this disdain. Fucking snowflakes.

What I don't get is how can Trump not realize that by meeting with Putin completely alone, with no one to back up what he says they talked about in their meeting, that he is only fueling the fire and ensuring that people continue to think he colluded with the Russians? On practically a daily basis, he calls the investigation a witch hunt, says repeatedly there was NO collusion, etc. Wouldn't you think he would want to have his meeting with Putin be transparent so there wouldn't be the questions and worries there are now? Or to have some kind of "proof" that there is no collusion?
And I think someone else already mentioned this, but isn't there anyone who could have said, "Oh hell NO you aren't meeting with him by yourself!" and gone with him? Isn't that typically the Secretary of State's JOB?
I'm not very well educated about politics but my hunch is given the fact that he fires staff at will, those who want to stay there value not making him mad over doing what is best for the country.

I just woke up here in Helsinki and read news and Twitter. What happened yesterday wasn't really a suprise, but I was suprised to see so many people still defending him.
I've never been happier to be a Finn. As a citizen of this small country that shares a long border with Russia you never can close your eyes from politics. You can't hide in your own bubble and believe that if things are great in your country, nothing else matters.
I'm hoping that yesterday did open some eyes in the US.

Putin is a short little dictator, isn't he? I'm sure there is some psy-ops reason he does that.

Europe has gotten the message, loud and clear: The US is not our ally anymore. Dear Europe, Most of us like and value you. We really do. But we have a problem. His name is Donald Trump, and unfortunately for ALL of us, he is one of the most ignorant, uninformed Presidents in our history. Yes, we know, he’s just awful. How do you think that WE feel? We have to wake up day after day wondering what he will do next. Adding to the difficulty is the fact that he has some very powerful allies in the media, along with a particularly inept Congress. It is a very difficult time to be an American. Eventually he will be out of office, probably in disgrace. The sky will clear, the birds will sing once more, and we will be able to hold our heads up high. So please don’t give up on us just yet. Love, The US

A political commentator in the UK said Trump would, without any doubt, get a second term. It's threads like this and others that give me hope that he won't. (The commentator didn't illustrate it with the hat, that came from FB)

It’s going to be hard to find someone who can win against Trump and his Russian assistants.

(The commentator didn't illustrate it with the hat, that came from FB) It wouldn't surprise me in the least that he had a second term if I'm honest. There are still many many people burying their heads in the sand in exactly the same way that they did in letting him get to the position he's in now. When Russia has finished jack booting into countries in Eastern Europe and beyond.,in the same way as they did Crimea and attempted to do in Ukraine, I would be keeping a close eye on Alaska if I was the US. After all it's only a short water jump from Siberia. Putin has made it his mission to restore Russia to the power it used to have. Nothing or no one will get in his way and Trump has fallen for it hook line and sinker by becoming his right hand man.Undermine Europe, dismiss the importance of NATO, trash trade and the rest, what more could Putin ask of him?. Except it isn't Trump that has gained the power it's Putin.

A political commentator in the UK said Trump would, without any doubt, get a second term. It's threads like this and others that give me hope that he won't. (The commentator didn't illustrate it with the hat, that came from FB) Heh. I live with a guy who has - daily and bitterly - predicted that for 20 months now. And he predicted 2016 even though every single person he knew scoffed at him. But he is a political junkie who freebases voter data and trends. And there’s still a good chance he’ll get it wrong. This is is complicated by so many things: the strength of the other party’s candidate...congressional voting district gerrymandering...electoral college weirdness...typically abysmal voter turnout... which people suddenly get mad enough to vote...voter age trends...a strong third party candidate (Bill Clinton would not have won absent Ross Perot) or anger engendered within a political party during primaries (Bernie Sanders voters who sat out the election or, inexplicably, voted for Trump)...CAMPAIGN FINANCE and our sinfully long election campaigns...domestic and world events near election time...the internet, propaganda, social media, partisan media, imaginary scandals. Hell, yesterday there were already Republicans braying about election fraud (from our REAL enemy, Mexican immigrants), so who knows what voter accessibility nonsense is coming. tl;dr: Basically, a presidential election here ain’t a popularity contest. Well, yes, quite literally because of the electoral college, but my point is the election result isn’t necessarily the will of the people who live here. So anybody making predictions needs to understand that. Which doesn’t mean the guy you heard doesn’t understand; it just means this is all increasingly - and bizarrely - complicated. (Speaking of complicated, that hat is equal parts frightening and brilliant.)

I am struggling to be optimistic and believe that people with good sense will realize that Trump is a menace and vote accordingly. Or that he will decide that he doesn’t want a second term. One thing is very clear to me. The electoral college must be changed or abolished. Lightly populated states have too much sway in our elections.

The electoral college isn't going anywhere. Changing the Constitution requires a vote of 3/4ths of the states after getting through the House and Senate. There is no way the Congressmen and Senators and then the voters of 38 states are going to agree to completely disenfranchise themselves from the presidential election process and give all the power to New York, California, Texas and Florida. No way.

I have a FB friend who does not support Trump, but he has some very vocal friends who do. Here's a sample from what they had to say:
"Not even no matter what president Donald Trump does the people that didn't like him didn't vote for him are always going to have a fucking problem and say he should have done the opposite if he was a cure cancer they be like you shouldn't have cured cancer because now there's not going to be enough people dying and will be overpopulated over to fuck knows what really. Here's the truth has Donald Trump been tougher on Russia than Barack Hussein Obama hell yes he has he's been Army in Crimea he put the missile defenses in Poland that wrote that fucking piece of shit Obama didn't put in there I'm put tougher sanctions on Russia. So whatever"
"Most people will never know the the horror show Trump had saved us from. Trump is a brilliant businessman and negotiator...it's funny how these brainless speed readers think they can hold a candle to the guy...😂"
Etc.
So yeah, while it pains me to say it, a second term would not shock me - particularly since I haven't yet seen a Democratic possibility with strong general appeal.

I saw someone on one of the Sunday news shows recently who said that the Democrats are focused on the midterms first, then 2020. I hope that they are just waiting to come out with a great candidate, and that there will be one. Part of me wants to know who it will be now, so that I can have hope. But another part of me understands that it may be best to wait until closer to the election. For one thing, to give Trump less time to disparage and berate his opponent. For another, we still have a long time until 2020 and a lot can and will happen between now and then. Who knows what condition our state or the world will be in another year.

Personally I think it’s better that the Democrats wait until closer to 2020 to start the Presidential campaign. Firstly, it gives Trump more rope and secondly, whomever runs will be subject to an enormous amount of slander and namecalling. I’m all for giving that less time to stick. And as someone currently in remission from Leukemia, if Trump cured cancer I’d give him a big fat kiss on the cheek. However, that doesn’t counteract everything else he’s ALREADY done and make him fit to be President.

Yes, I see so much of this in the comments sections (that I know I shouldn't read, but I can't help it) of articles. They love to put in President Obama's middle name because you know it's a Muslim name which makes him suspect. And how they can say things that just completely go against the truth...! I know it's truth as they see it, fueled by the likes of Fox News, Hannity, etc., but even when trump is ON VIDEO saying whatever it is they still deny it.

Lot of voters base their vote on how things are going in the few months leading up to the election. They forget stuff that happened a year or two earlier. So if the economy is good and there seems to be relative peace in the world 4-6 months ahead of an election, the sitting President gets re-elected. It also doesn’t seem like the Democrats have a good candidate yet. I am hoping for a miracle!
