It’s insulting to healthcare workers who will have to care for you or those you expose to the virus. It’s unbelievable that she does all this and her husband is in the medical field. Does he ever put his foot down or is he the same?!? Thanks for the welcome! I’ve wondered if I’m the only one who looks at BH like the train wreck she seems to have become. I don’t see “kind” challenging comments on her posts. Maybe she deletes all negative comments? I’m guessing the majority of her fan girls are Mormon. Who else is buying those stickers other than Mormons. Her voice drives me nuts, her facial expressions are over the top. I think she fancies herself as a Joanna Gaines wannabe. Anyway, glad I’m not alone in seeing through the bs. |

Just found this thread. Lurked to read through some of the posts. I’ve wondered if I were the only one irritated by BH. Back in the day I thought she had good inspiration, which is what I look for on many IG accounts focused on paper crafts, memory keeping, sewing, cooking, etc. a couple months before her anxiety breakdown I DM’d her, rather than posting on her public blog. I prefaced my comment by saying I know she does not like “unkind” comments and I in no way meant to be unkind. Rather I was giving constructive feedback. I asked if she was having a mid-life crisis. She seems manic, stressed, flailing, unfocused. I suggested that perhaps a focus on what her business IS would help. Speaking for myself I told her I did not need her to be a therapist, a counselor, a mentor, a mother, a friend. Not interested in buying dresses, wrapping paper, jewelry, purses, random crafts, etc. Can’t even remember everything. She now seems focused on notebooks—does anyone have a problem finding a notebook anywhere? Anyway, I suggested she take a break and really consider her life and the purpose of her business. I said I was just looking for inspiration, which I guess doesn’t generate $$$ ? I did get a response from her but I felt as if she didn’t get the point. It was not long after that when she had her anxiety crisis. I though—how privileged are you! I check her account every now and then but it seems worse than ever. I find pushing religion (ANY religion) off-putting. I don’t care how many hikes she takes or what makeup she likes. I feel like she’s trying to make the mortgage payment for the new house. And I agree with those who think she’s tone deaf about covid protocols. It seems irresponsible to fly off to Hawaii or go on trips. She seems to have a narrow appeal. Maybe that’s enough to sustain her but count me out. Welcome to the dark side!
I don't pop into this thread very often anymore because she's not worth my time, but it does bring me great joy to bring other people into the fold who aren't under her spell any longer.
Honestly, I am beginning to feel like this is the new era of influencer. Constant complaining about how hard you have it while living a totally privileged life seems to be the way of the world for many and the fact that they're still out there doing it shows that there are people way too invested in their lives to allow them to continue to profit off the behavior. It's reality TV (which I hate) on a 24/7 scale.
If it's not influencers looking for sympathy, it's nobodies looking for their viral moment to cash in on their 15 minutes. While social media has a lot of good to offer and is at the very least creating so much conversation around many social justice issues, people like her and lizzy are prime examples of the pitfalls and that's just at the surface of the negatives.

They were sharing a house with people they'd never met before. Madness. This is absolutely not the case of a poor, long-term suffering husband, captive of his wife à la Daphne du Maurier novel. Once again because it bears repeating: David Higgins is an anaesthesiologist. He is among the most exposed in the Covid-19 battle. He has no reason not to know better. |

So I’ve been enjoying this thread from afar for a while so had to make an account to share this: Becky blocked me. For telling her to put a mask on and social distance (On her “personal” Instagram) on a post of her in Maryland surrounded basically cheek to cheek with about 10 people.
My sass got the better of me (very rarely happens but she must have caught me in a moment of patience worn thin) but all the blocking really did was reinforce to me why her comments all seem to be positive and cult-like....She actually can’t take any sort of criticism, hey? What was interesting was that when I commented on her business page (on a post inviting us to follow her elsewhere saying I would but I’d been blocked) that that was also deleted BUT I didn’t get blocked from that account.. so she wants to clean it up but keep the followers? Not sure what the logic is there if anyone has any ideas?
Pretty sure I’ve never been blocked before so I’m quite proud of myself. I’m so sick of the cult like following and so glad I found this thread!

It’s still shocking to see people traveling and interacting as if we are not experiencing a pandemic. If nothing else, wearing a mask, avoiding unnecessary travel/interactions feels like a show of respect for those who have been sickened and those who have died. We will look back upon this one day as a great tragedy, a tragedy some seem to be willfully ignoring. I had been such a devoted fan of Becky’s, but it’s so disappointing to see her overall behavior (the brand, the cluelessness). I need to stop reading her posts, they only bring frustration.

I, too, am relatively new to this site. So glad I’m not alone in wondering what the appeal of BH is. Back in the day I did find her memory keeping info helpful. Now it’s like she’s the expert in all.the.things. Ignoring covid is the worst for me. She must not know anyone who has died of it or suffered hospitalization from covid. She could influence a lot of folks if she’d just wear a mask. Do the mormons think they have a protective cloak? I haven’t listened to her podcasts other than snippets on her IG that I quickly skip through. Cannot stand the preachy voice. Does ANYONE understand the appeal of her notebooks? I just don’t understand who buys these. Places like Target have plenty and they’re cheaper. Glad to have a place to vent.

Jen converted to Islam after finding out about the Church of LDS' racist history. Lisa who owns liquor companies (not against LDS rules anyway) is of Jewish heritage and alleges to be a practicing LDS "in her own way" and does not have a temple recommendation. And erm, frankly, can't remember more of the cast members. My trash panda ways are occupied by the absolute trash telly that is TLC's 90 Day Fiancé franchise (in the name of Joseph Smith, it's even worse than Real Housewives - I should be ashamed). The Mormon mommy influencers were PISSED when the show premiered. They were spouting about it left and right on social media. It was "fake news!!!1!!11!!!" galore in those IG stories and feeds...  Deseret News, the local newspaper run by the Church of LDS, also wrote an article recommending against watching it. Blasphemy, all of it, pure blasphemy! *clutches pearls* |
