sleepingbooty I get it, that's the reason I said gently. It can be an awkward conversation when writing not speaking. I forgot to mention US tribes are quick to act with legal action or public comments if someone is using their name or heritage improperly. I missed the Costa Rico posts, and don't understand the comments about mail. Did they go there near the end of her summer camp? Mail from there arrives in days, less than a week IME. It's not like it's carried by donkey or something - unless she took a more adventurous trip than I'd expect of her.

I just don’t get it. Having cake to celebrate the return of your daughter who most likely was forced to attend a camp that would change her personal identity, thinking and beliefs because mom and dad don’t like the young woman she has become. I know a lot of judgy comments there but, good grief. I feel for Claire.

How about talking about her "hard thing" INSTEAD of going on and onnnn about how God made sure you had the exact amount of change for your fast food? Or.... how about a poem or an inspirational quote for others who are also going through "hard things?"
Oh wait...that wouldn't be clever, catchy, or attention-getting like a handful of money? I admit, I'm overly sensitive because I'm very worried / praying for a dear friend's hubby who is battling severe Covid (she was vaxxed, he refused ). He's probably going to need one of the biggest hospitals here which currently has NO AVAILABLE BEDS, and not enough nurses. It's just so. so. bad! https://www.instagram.com/p/CShZd2Glgox

Did she not have a debit card with her? Imagine thinking that the possibility of a working woman being able to purchase some fast food exists because of divine intervention. She is wild.
I hope that your friend's husband gets better soon - and that he accepts the vaccine when he is able to!

Did she not have a debit card with her? Imagine thinking that the possibility of a working woman being able to purchase some fast food exists because of divine intervention. She is wild. And then she took a photo of it for the gram before paying. Social media for God! Man, how about that time the card payment system was down when I recharged my public transportation card and had, I swear, just enough coins to pay for it? Or that time someone jumped in to complete my cash payment for groceries when I realised I was missing a few cents and thought I'd had to pay by card instead? And that time I really, really needed to have a letter posted and stamped with the day's date on it for legal reasons but didn't think I'd make it home in time to get a stamp before they picked up the mail and boom, I found an old stamp that was good for any letter under a certain weight (no money value attached) in my wallet? Wow wow wow, I'm so blessed by Zeus and company in life! You know what these people don't talk about? All the times they didn't have enough cash to pay for fast food or a quick grocery and had to pull out their card instead. All the times there wasn't an accidental "alignment of stars". Confirmation bias and apophenia, classics of the belief-related cognitive biases.

I've said it before on this thread, but PEAS!!! This is some kind of clique in the LDS Church. The hustlers, the instagrammers.... and most members don't know them.

Becky’s newest Instagram post about her dying (now deceased) brother-in-law, complete with moments-before-death photos, is appalling. The man died, leaving a wife and four children. Have some common f&$?%#g decency and stop posting every damn thing in your life all over social media and respect the privacy of those around you. Not everything you do is a teaching moment or an excuse to preach at your followers.
Put. Down. Your. Phone. And. Grieve.
I have unfollowed her.
This level of obliviousness is beyond reprehensible and I won’t support her by following her anymore.

Put. Down. Your. Phone. And. Grieve. I don't follow her and refuse to give her the hits by going to check out this post, but this is just so far beyond my line of what is acceptable, and I already thought she'd overstepped all the boundaries possible. I have no problem with the family taking photos to help them remember the person and help them grieve but they don't have to be shared publicly. Although the more I think about it the more annoyed it makes me and I kind of want to go and call her out even though she'd only delete anything I have to say.

Geez! Why not post a nice picture of the man?
Is that an LDS thing? Over the years I’ve seen a number of photos, some professionally shot, of people on their death beds or of the entire funeral from LDS Instagram influencers.

Geez! Why not post a nice picture of the man? Because it would not fit her narrative to pull at her followers' sympathy to donate via Venmo to his family.

Is that an LDS thing? Over the years I’ve seen a number of photos, some professionally shot, of people on their death beds or of the entire funeral from LDS Instagram influencers. It's normal to have have open casket viewings the night before the funeral and an hour before the funeral. Mormons often take photos of their deceased loved ones. I think when you grow up in that culture, you don't realize how weird that is to a lot of people. I have seen open casket pictures posted on Facebook.
Photos of them near death and posted for all to see? That isn't something I've seen often. My MIL has ALS and she has specifically asked us to not post photos of her. It just doesn't seem right especially when they are in the last stages of living and they are unable to communicate.
I've learned the hard way, the LDS church does not teach how to grieve in an appropriate way. It's the "everything happens for a reason". Basically, find the silver lining. God is great. I had enough cash to buy fast food. Tender mercies! It's okay to be sad BUT families are forever!
This is what Becky said
"The thing that sucks about terminal illness is watching your loved one suffer. The blessing, of course, is the TIME that everyone has. Time to get affairs in order. Time to express and share love. Time to minister." He fought cancer for ***12*** years!
My MIL cannot go up and down stairs. She has to have someone lift her left foot. She will be in a wheelchair soon. She is losing her ability to speak. My dad died in his sleep at the age of sixty three. It SUCKS no matter what.

So sorry refugeepea I lost my dad to ALS 11 years ago. It’s a horrific disease. Its too hard to even look at pictures of him taken during that time.

Hello everyone… I’ve spent the last week reading through all 187 pages…
Let me back up… And confess a little I’ve always been a huge Becky Higgins fan over the last several years there have been things that haven’t sit right with me but I haven’t really sat down and connected all the dots
I totally missed the incident with NSD … I didn’t see her post because she had already removed it and so I never really understood what happened with that.. Until now!
over the last few weeks the situation with her daughter has a really starting to piss me off the way she sharing about it… If it’s so super private just stop sharing about it and nobody would know!!
I finally decided that I must not be the only one and I started digging… Came across the group and can I just say it has been devastating to connect all the dots and understand what a truly Horrible person she is
It has been completely sad to really see the truth and then also connect the dots.
I wanted to add about the rebranding what it seems like happened to me.
It seems like when she got rid of project life to AC she then wasn’t allowed to produce any more product with the project life branding on it because of whatever deal she made with AC
I feel like she took this opportunity to lie and say that sales were down and she wasn’t going to make any more physical product…
I totally agree that the reason physical product sales were down we’re simply for her I see plenty of other companies thriving using these types of products
Basically I feel like she lied and said she couldn’t produce any more product because it wasn’t selling when really she couldn’t produce any more because she didn’t have a brand
She then re-branded and then started selling physical product again… Totally acting like she just heard what everybody wanted and she wanted to supply everybody with the essentials because she cares oh so much for all of us and our documents he needs.
I thought it was strange when the new products came with the new branding but just chalked it up to her rebrand.
I also felt it was weird when she change the color of the grey album but now looking back at it really feels like it was all a lie and instead of just saying she sold projects live or whatever it was she said to AC And maybe she wasn’t sure how she was going to go forward and then later decided to rebrand and sell the product… She just totally lied about it all.
I don’t know maybe that is a far stretch… It’s a little weird to be looking back and connecting the dots and seeing how it was unfolding being able to know what we know now.
The last thing I will add is I was actually gifted her audio course by Becky herself. I took the course and was very glad I didn’t spend the $250 on it because it was bullshit!!! It had nothing really to do about documenting … really except for a call to of course document your life. It was a lot of mumbo-jumbo about your fearless childhood self and on and on and on
There was also a zoom call where there was about 45 people including both Becky’s… Everybody who took the audio course was invited to be a part of this zoom call… I’m sure not everybody could show up at that time but I was very surprised at how little the turnout was.
I personally come from a very broken childhood so I asked the question that was basically about the fearless childhood self and said I had a very broken childhood and really just was always in survival mode and how could I relate to that moment through that… And they basically said it really didn’t matter that I had a broken childhood that you can always get out whatever you put into something and if I put into it more I would get something out of it… It was very odd and very disheartening.

Pretty much the same here. I was never a fan girl but I thought she came up with some good ideas, a product that could help many get their photos in books.
I find her so annoying now. Actually offensive. I feel like she’s talking down to her audience. She should like she’s trying to impress folks—“let me articulate whatever,,,”. Who talks like this! I’m sick of her overuse of trite phrases—soak it all in, that’s my jam, diving into, etc
And don’t get me started on over sharing personal experiences—her daughter, her brother/in-law, etc. She sort of seems to be bragging that she does all this best. Maybe it’s a Mormon thing but I find it all so off-putting and I feel for the people’s whose stories are not hers to tell the world about.
I think she must be realizing that there are different viewpoints that don’t fit her sheltered narrative snd she doesn’t know how to handle it.
She seems to fancy herself all things—counselor, coach, teacher, guru—and her response to you was insulting. Very dismissive.

Hello everyone… I’ve spent the last week reading through all 187 pages… Hi and welcome. May I ask, what part of the 187 pages stands out most to you. Since I've been on to Becky from the start, I can't look at her and her antics objectively. But as someone new to the whole shmear (and there are a few other threads on her insanity here) what stands out most on seeing it all at once? Thanks.

Glad you found us. 😊 A quick precision: Becky never sold Project Life the brand to AC. She negotiated an exclusive partnership with them for X amount of time for physical releases but AC never owned PL. They traded designs and the likes but Becky and her team were very much in charge. As a matter of fact, Becky still has the registered PL brand, uses it (including for the app) and never really full-on rebranded (there was never a proper plan in place to implement a series of strategic changes to change how her audience was perceiving the PL and/or BH brands from what I can tell). Much of the stuff she sells on her website now are AC warehouse leftovers from the PL glory days (or, rather, the fall of those glory days). It's just reheating old stuff and barely holding on. Very sad state. She has most definitely lied, stretched and deformed the truth to suit her ever-changing narrative but Project Life is hers, remains hers and she sunk it right to bed of the scrappy ocean with her rigid views and refusal to adapt to suit the market. Her doing and her undoing.

@zingermack Any news on what happened to the abandoned house? It didn't sell at auction and I don't know how to navigate the US public records system well enough to hunt for the info myself (at least not without wasting a significant chunk of time).

There are actually two things that I felt pretty devastated about overall… The foreclosure on her old house song is really disheartening… I have always thought she wasn’t great at business but I believe she was a decent person The other thing is the way the rebranding went down are you really believe them that whatever situation she went through with a C regarding Project Life She was unable to create product probably for legal reasons and then she lied to everybody you using the excuse that people weren’t buying it so she couldn’t make it… And then boom as soon as she was able to pull off the rebrand she started creating those projects and pretended like she was doing some great service to her customers by listening to them and bringing back the essentials… I think it was her plan all along!!!!

Thank you for the clarification as I read through all the pages when I try to keep everything straight Even if there was no legal reason regarding Project life … Regarding the rebrand I still feel like she totally lied about the product not selling when really it just came down to her wanting to rebrand … I feel like it’s very clear that people will purchase some projects life related scrapbooking related / memory keeping related If she would produce it the way customers want it on

One of the first rules if you plan to go into business is to have a business plan. I’m not convinced she ever had a real business plan. She likes to brag about starting her “little business” in her home, which many people do. But it always seemed like hobby-level to me. Even more so when she got an office outside her home, hired girlfriends, sold totally unrelated merchandise. I found much of her behavior so unprofessional. Kind of a Martha Stewart wannabe or Joanna Gaines wannabe. That whole episode surrounding Joanna Gaines was so cringe-y.
It’s been interesting to read some of the back story here. I don’t remember when I “caught on” to her shenanigans, but I thought I was alone because her comments seemed favorable. I suppose she scrubs those.
So thanks for the updates.

When it comes to her business feeling I really think it comes down to one thing… She wants things her way and she’s always right. Regardless of me having had been a fan of hers I totally fell annoyed always by her saying over and over that people weren’t scrapbooking that way anymore, when she started acting like scrapbooking was some kind of nasty word!!!
Of all of the crafting people in this business and having stayed in this business for so long she is the only one that basically tells people there wrong for wanting to do this hobby… I get evolving and documenting differently but to me somebody who truly loves documenting as much as she says she does has more love for the hobby than she ever shows are all!!!
If she would have simply listen to what customer wanted, an actually promoted and showed the projects she could’ve stayed in business.
I don’t think she loves documenting or wants to document in the way a lot of people are.

I don’t think she loves documenting or wants to document in the way a lot of people are. She does it because she has been told by her religion that she must do it and she should love to do it for her family. It is an obligation for her.

I think she really needs the attention/flattery/head pats for the documenting. And, as you said, validation from her religious leaders.
