Good for her! I wish her the best. I'd love to know her reasoning other than "divine direction," but that's me being nosy and wondering if she just got fed up with Becky's nonsense.

I can't stop looking at her eyelashes in the video message. Dayum, she gave her curler a workout. Those lashes look like they've been curled inwards, like back to the centre of her face.

I'd love to know her reasoning other than "divine direction," Isn't it cool how their "divine direction" usually aligns w/"what I want to do"?

She's still at it with this "accidental" price nonsense. Today's email is titled "6+ hours of content for $37?? Guess I’m officially crazy!" You can read it here. My favorite part is this: My translation? "I have NO idea what I'm doing or how to plan for what I'm going to say! I just have people ask me things and I wing it. Isn't that worth $37?" You also aren't paying for a class you can go back to until the end of time, you're paying for Q&As that you'll only be able to access through May. Sounds like a great investment, Becky.

Catching up here. Have taken a break from Beggy. So…nothing’s changed? Same old, same old. She’s not providing a “class”. Not even a “seminar” that typically has structure. It’s more like a talk. And I got tired of hearing her talk years ago. I don’t understand how anyone finds her relatable.

She recently sent out an email blast about how she's using the emails her son sends from his coloni--- sorry, mission trip in Argentina to document his time there. He was surprised that Argentinian Spanish is different from the Spanish he learned before setting off. I guess they learned about dialects?

Latin Spanish is different than the Spanish we know. My friend in Argentina has been a great help in helping me differentiate the two.

I broke up with Becky but just went and looked...of course she's now an expert on this. Does she ever just listen...absorb information?

Here's the thing. It is all LDS/Mormon centered support. It's about keeping kids in the church. Keeping the family together for eternity. I'm sure most love their children and will do anything for them. Except their kids will NEVER be accepted as they are according to church doctrine. They have to be celibate for the rest of their lives. No partners, no marriage, no children. When they die the only way for them to enter the highest degree of heaven is to be married and only a heterosexual marriage. They live their entire lives adhering to doctrine that brings so much loneliness and when they die this is their reward.
There is no use staying in the church. Their lives will be infinitely much more fulfilling if they leave. That is a fact. It's hard to explain when that's how you were raised, what you are taught, and they truly think this is being an "ally". There is no room for discussion in these groups. If you have a dissenting voice, they will block you (yes I was). I can't imagine what it is like at meetings if someone were to stand up and say this isn't right. Our kids are miserable, they are depressed, as a group they have more suicidal ideation. We need to do what is best for them, PERIOD!

Oh my goodness yes. Latin Spanish is different than the Spanish we know. My friend in Argentina has been a great help in helping me differentiate the two. Membership and missionary service has dropped drastically in the last few years. I know some MTCs (Missionary Training Centers) have either closed or there are a lot less missions (especially in Europe) that have ceased to exist or have been combined from a few areas to one or two. I wouldn't be surprised if the Spanish lessons aren't as good as they once were.
ETA: It's been a while since I've said I love most of the members, but hate the doctrine. I have a niece serving a mission right now.
Oh and one of her videos is set to music by David Archuleta. A Mormon who served a mission and came out as gay. I think he's trying to stay in the church, but not sure. Actually he probably is or she would use someone else for music.

There is no use staying in the church. Their lives will be infinitely much more fulfilling if they leave. I read the exmormon reddit from time to time. The stories are so sad (the ones remembering what it was like inside) and so uplifting (the ones getting out). I just read one yesterday about an older couple who got out. So great to hear their minds were open enough to look beyond their "tradition" and get out and spend the last decades free of the nonsense and hefty tithing.

Here is a similar story from a mainstream site: In 2008, my husband and I lived in the LDS community in Eastern Idaho. We were asked to tithe 10% to the church, but I disagreed with the church's views on gay marriage and refused. The backlash came with financial repercussions, but we were eventually able to leave LDS altogether. This essay is part of Strings Attached, a series about people leaving insulated communities and their relationships with money www.businessinsider.com/personal-finance/withheld-tithe-mormon-church-backlash-2022-3

I just read one yesterday about an older couple who got out. So great to hear their minds were open enough to look beyond their "tradition" and get out and spend the last decades free of the nonsense and hefty tithing. I go on there occasionally when I need someone to relate to. I consider myself lucky really. I had a fairly normal upbringing. Looking, back there were some messed up lessons, doctrine, and certain people who screwed me up in some areas of my life. Still, some of those stories especially of abuse and worse leaders are hard to read. And the missionary stories! Ugh, the poverty and hard situations so many lived through!
I honestly believe there are plenty of members who are just fine and this way of life works for them. Three of my siblings are thriving in the church. I wonder about one of them. I don't know. We all get along and I didn't get too many weird looks at my niece's luncheon after her missionary farewell when I yelled SHIT!!!! after I couldn't stop my son from throwing a bottle of Mountain Dew (mine) in the air. I'm not sure they know I'm no longer a member. If they do, we are good at just keeping it neutral.
My husband's family? It's a mixed bag. I feel like I could write a novel. No, a series.
My journey (I kind of hate that word because it can sound so pretentious) had to do with doctrine and life issues. That led to inactivity, better mental health, much needed self care, and time to learn actual church history. Then I was done.
I didn't want to sin and do bad things like drink coffee, watch R-rated movies, and give men boners by baring my porn shoulders. Please not the sarcasm in the above sentence.

Anyone know why the Higgins’ brand new home is for sale? I saw that! I don’t know why it is being sold but I did see it listed as sale pending so I’m assuming it’s now under contract?

Anyone know why the Higgins’ brand new home is for sale? Because selling notebooks doesn't pay as well as she thought? Off to see if I can find the listing...
