Anyone know why the Higgins’ brand new home is for sale? Thank you for your service to 2PR. This is juicy and fresh! And thank you for getting us the listing. Well done!

I hate that kitchen. It's such a poor and ugly design. Every time I see it, I physically shake my head. Whoever's buying this house will be redoing it for sure. A 2.6 million house with, I quote, "BEAUTIFUL USE OF WOOD TEXTURES and COLORS" (can't tell me this hyper capitalised text isn't Becky's) but all flooring is concrete and vinyl? Another reason to hire an architect instead of doing your own design. They'll help you budget and figure out a flow with materials that leads up to use of hardwood flooring in a key space. You need to inhabit the luxury feels you're projecting all the way, baby. Also, this barely qualifies as soft contemporary. It's so bric-a-brac-ish. I'd have thought some of the furniture would have changed since they moved in but nope. The proportions are off in so many rooms, too. I can't believe they bought so many pieces new. It really looks like they did their best with whatever they had instead. And don't get me started on the bathroom with a light greige tile (so it leans a bit warm) with the concrete flooring also leaning warm but cool grey cabinets. It clashes terribly. Hard to believe BH comes from a professional graphic and colour-obsessed craft background. Also, because it's this thread's mascot, the $2000 piano room light fixture (that is not even a well-known brand with investment value) that will never be forgotten : Are we speculating why they're selling? Moving for his job (surely not hers )? Could they still owe money on their previous property (I don't know what US banks can do to sue them for any lost money on that foreclosed house) and they're liquidating their main asset to make payment?

That is the smallest, most poorly-designed kitchen I’ve ever seen, and it’s in a $2.7 million dollar home… there’s no counter space!
Also, she really needed to hire a decorator with rooms that big. The full-size couch sitting at the end of a bed in an otherwise empty room looks so sad.

This house reminds me of going to DD’s orthodontist’s office.

sleepingbooty the second I saw those concrete floors, I had the same thought. ETA: Looks like they’ve already moved out. Wonder if they’ve bought a new home already.

One would have to assume that the circumstances regarding the move are not the happiest since she has not posted a play by play of her life regarding the move. What’s really crazy is not only did they just build the house, this is land they owned for 14 years before they built. This was supposed to be their dream home. A very small part of me feels bad for her getting rid of it already, but it really has me curious.

I am so confused by the location description. Could that be a typo? I lived in AZ for almost 5 years, and I know lots of peas do too. I have never seen an island in the Valley, "You will be on the most desirable street of this county island location, but within minutes to Peoria's desirable schools, as well as the acclaimed BASIS, Glendale Prep, and Candeo schools*" and I looked it up on google maps, and while there is a river, I don't see how it's an island, like the description states. Very confused. Also, AZ with no pool? Maybe I missed it, but for that kind of money I would want a beautifully landscaped oasis type back yard with a pool, hot tub, outdoor living space, the works. If they had done that, I would think there would be photos. Good grief, what a cold, ugly house. Sad. Asking azcrafty what they think...

So many weird things about that house that are already mentioned. Did y'all notice that there are back to back kitchens in the house? One that is outward facing (and appears more for show) with nicer appliances, etc. One directly behind it that appears to be the actual workhorse. That could have been one heck of a kitchen if they had been combined.
I'll also add, I have never, in all my years, seen a high end house where the description is 1/2+ in caps. I see a heavy hand by the seller in that description, rather than that of a professional RE agent.
OTOH, it is pending, so someone(s) really liked it all.....

IG post—photo of notebook (duh!) and pen. “Carved out” (add that to my list of overused, tired, trite phrases of hers) 20 minutes to write down all the things I’m navigating. It’s a “cool” way to process things, she says. Says she’s focusing on family but not to worry—behind the scene things are humming along.
Part of me feels bad that she seems to need to sell their dream home. Curious about the reason(s). But who exactly needs 7,000+ sq ft home? It always looked cold and sterile. And the kitchen is a real puzzle. Even accounting for the big pantry, the kitchen itself is so small, lacking in adequate workspace.
Her mom sends hugs in the comments.

The term county island is not a literal island, but an unincorporated area of the county. So, her address is legally part of Maricopa county but within (or boarded by) the city of Peoria.

LOL, thank you!!! That totally makes more sense. Where I live now, I know a couple people who live "on island" (a for real island lol) and people who work "on island" so I was thinking, whaaaaatt...anyway, I still stand by the backyard comment.

Omg. So many thoughts looking at those pictures.
First off the overall vibe is upscale prison.
Second, someone needs to learn to make a bed.
Third. That kitchen is just basic bitch boring and looks completely unfunctional. Why does the pantry appear to be larger then the actual kitchen? The weathered wood with the dark grey countertop and brown chairs and weird green cabinets are all competing and hurting my head.
Fourth, that dilapidated couch is just all sorts of wrong at the end of a bed. Bench or nothing people. You can’t stick a couch with saggy cushions at the end of the bed and call it good enough.
And finally I hate every single one of the light fixtures. And that sad little bedroom with the 3 stack of bunk beds is like something out of a cartoon.

Is the white second kitchen in the 2-bedroom guest house? Are her in-laws still living with them?
Do the beds have beddy beds? Where is Becky P after all this time? Does she still have a podcast? I never tuned in—her voice/preaching is just too much. Hope her kids are ok.
The whole house design/aesthetic is so confusing. I think this could be her mid-life crisis design. Her other house was so dramatically different. I know people’s tastes can change/mature but this “prison vibe” (so accurate Skellinton!) is very strange.
Something is going on…

I think the second kitchen pictured is in the guest house. The doorway you can see in the kitchen is to what they call a scullery or “dirty kitchen.” It’s a trend right now in high-end homes, but generally the main kitchen is a bit more. Grand, fancy, bigger, has a “wow” factor… just more.

It's pretty clear that Becky's inspiration was contemporary coastal (she'd been travelling back and forth to Cali regularly when they were building this). But she lacks general knowledge (let alone specialist knowledge) so it ended up being this weird mish-mash with furniture completely out of proportion for the large rooms to fill, bad colour schemes, mismatched finishes and everything else that looks wrong. Here's a look at a contemporary coastal California home. While it may not be everyone's taste, at least it looks cohesive and makes sense. Proportions are right, finishes match, consistent repetition of materials used for continuinity. You can't just Pinterest yourself through this kind of grand project.

I think Becky fancies herself as a Joanna Gaines of all things. I imagine they have a lot of money tied up in that place!

Her sudden house listing and cryptic family post makes me think something big happened. It sounds like she actually stepped back from the business for a second to take care of whatever's going on in her family - I feel like we don't often see that, generally she'll use her family as props to push the business instead.
As annoying as she is, I do hope everything's alright... though the petty side of me loves a good mystery.

That house is the antithesis of what I would consider a beautiful, luxury house. And yes, I would expect a pool at that price point in Arizona - I've lived in Arizona...even the really low-end apartment complexes have pools.

I don’t follow her anymore and just check in occasionally out of curiosity. I did bookmark her new home lot on Zillow, so when the pending sale popped up it was a surprise. Prior to this there didn’t seem to be much activity on her account other than LDS stickers and notebooks. That and her LGBQT awareness.

I wonder if she is getting a divorce and that is why she is being so vague. I imagine divorce is pretty frowned upon in Mormon churches? I know we didn't ever hear much about Lisa Bearnson getting a divorce, although she doesn't radiate obnoxiousness like BH so we just may not be keeping as close tabs on her.
I don't wish bad things on her, but I am a busy nose and would love to know what is happening.

I am not a fan girl but I have followed her life for long enough that I hope she and the kids are ok.

Was this the house with the INTENTIONAL house numbers? I did like those. She gets points for cool house numbers.
The rest of it was not my jam. I am not a fan of grey though, so that didn't help. I hope the room with the two computers was an office. The walls in that room frightened me a bit.

I very much doubt there is a divorce in the works. Ladies, BH is an excellent vaguebooker. It's her speciality. Don't go rushing and feeling bad for her too quickly. I'm still thinking the house was either an investment for them to make money or need to liquidate it due to past financial issues (foreclosure) catching up.
