Welcome, Annie! I agree - a physical release would have been a GREAT move for her. People are stuck at home, give them something to touch and play with! Something tangible!

I have greatly enjoyed lurking. Finally posting today to see if anyone saw what I perceived as a subtle clapback from Ali in her stories. She randomly goes into detail about the Just Write prompt system and how it helps people tell their stories, even if they don't scrapbook them. This delighted me in some terrible way. I find Becky's recent "discovery" of journaling and telling personal stories so absolutely absurd--and obviously an attempt to take back some of the spotlight from folks who've had success building on the Project Life system she has abandoned. Welcome to the board! I posted this same questions in the AE thread, wondering if I was being petty. LOL Glad to see I wasn't alone in my perception.

Welcome scrappieannieWell, kiera you know Becky, she knows what’s best for all of us and you can’t tell her any differently. People have been asking for physical product for years and she’s all but called them stupid for asking. She lost me during one of those rants. I mean, there’s always someone who’ll gladly take my money I don’t need to try so hard to spend it with Becky

Oh I fully agree with you. It would still be a logical step because there are others who still drool over everything she does... but she doesn't listen, so they won't be created.

I heard someone doing a TM haul talking about how they skipped the Project Life rejects at TM because they hate the rounded corners. I feel the same. If only Becky Higgins had listened way back when people were begging for square corners (you can always round a square, you can't square a round). But Becky knows best and refused. Now her stuff isn't even purchased for 20% of the original price.

I didn't mind the rounded corners but I was with you all being so mad about it. We can all round corners. A corner rounder is one of our first purchases when we start this hobby. I couldn't get over how stubborn she was about not providing square cards. Remember when she said it would ruin the aesthetics on how they looked in the box, lol. She is more concerned about how things look than running a successful business. This is a legitimate question. Why does she have so many multiples of the cards? I never understood that. I posted that question a long time ago at the old Pea's board and her fangirl's roasted me. I really wanted to know. I was trying to understand her system. Back then we had classes being taught how to use Project Life. That roasting was the point I knew there was something fishy about the way BH's runs her business. If you get roasted for asking a simple question when you are trying to learn a new scrapbooking system that is a huge red flag. I was being roasted by her own instructor's that she had trained. It showed to me she did not want questions. Side note- I was not personally affronted about this roasting. I didn't take it to heart. You know how you walk into a business, get bad service and walk right out knowing you won't go there. It was that kind of thing why I never fully got into Project Life. Like I have said numerous times I am grateful she brought Pocket scrapbooking back into vogue during that time. I was able to make my own system. I honestly never really understood how to use her kits. They were really confusing. On the note of journaling. I know I have mentioned this a lot. Journaler's love journaling cards. We are snagging up her cards at TM & DT. Lot of these women in the journaling community don't know who she is. They just like her cards. I making an order right now and I am ordering journaling cards from other companies. I adore them. I love my collection. I use them ALL the time in my journals whether it's a junk journal or written journal. She wants to keep hawking journaling as the next "NEW" thing. She has a popular product that is used in the journaling community and she is backing away from it. IMO that is pure utter stupidity! She could have made such a good career for herself if she just evolved, listened, taught and been kind.

I was another one who needed a flame retardant suit after asking that same question. I was told that it was so you had to make less decisions for quicker pages. I replied back that if that was the case then why did she come out with so many kits if it wasn't about the decoration and I got flamed to high heaven.

I think the Project Life core kits have so many cards because it was originally a photo a day type project. So you had two Design A page protectors per week with a title card & seven 4x6 photos, then eight 3x4 cards to journal about each day. It came with 60 page protectors, just enough to fit in one album for one year & enough cards for the year with duplicates for cohesion. And the original plan was for only one or two new kits each year. I had the original Project 365 that she made through CK & Project Life came after that.

I wonder how many of us got flamed for asking questions. I remember I asked nicely. I know it was something like "Why does she have so many multiples of the cards and how do you use the multiples with Project Life?" I know it was super simple. Her instructor's and fan girls lost it. It was surreal. I remember quite clearly one of her instructor's told me that Becky has a way she wants you to use her system. I remember that so well because I thought- Ok, I don't even know how she wants us to use her system and in her particular way! I remember I asked again politely "How does Becky want us to use this system." I remember quite clearly somebody said "Was I questioning Becky on her own product?" Um, Yes! ROFL. Isn't that what we are supposed to do? I am not surprised by all these stories coming out about Becky being so particular about things, never wanting feedback and doesn't like you questioning her when you have legitimate simple non-critical questions.
Honestly Becky's PL was like getting a new WRMK tool and you have to figure it out yourself. Least WRMK doesn't tell you that your not using their tool in their specific way when you don't know what that way is.
nettiel Thank you so much. That does make sense. I could have understood that and then been able to ask follow up questions.

Ok, which one of you left a comment to Becky that her new logo looks like an elderly makeup palette? *dying laughing*
It’s true though. When my app updated, I had this visceral ‘ew’ reaction. I’m more drawn to saturated colors and a cool color palette (or at least a balance), though.

I don't have the app, but from some screen shots, it does look like 80's make up and decor colors - all peachy.

I don’t like the colors either, but my assumption was that she was going with desert colors. She’s so very pro-Arizona and the nature aspect of it so that’s where my mind went. (Not that there is anything wrong being pro-Arizona.)

You all made me go look at the app logo. I am not hating on the app. I know as a consumer I would probably not notice the app if I was just browsing. It wouldn't catch my eye. There is nothing there to draw your eye to it when browsing. She really doesn't want anybody to notice her brand does she? That's a shame because it seems to have some nice features.
The app itself looks nice. I have seen in my journal/snail mail groups the girls make the cutest printables from the PL app. Are there apps that are similar to this that don't have a scrapbook name associated to it?
Side note- I could never take a bath with that many mirrors. Remember the days ladies when we were younger with super model bodies and a booty you could bounce a quarter off of. Even then I couldn't take a bath with that many mirrors, lol.

I replied back that if that was the case then why did she come out with so many kits if it wasn't about the decoration and I got flamed to high heaven. The first PL core kits had loads of duplicate cards. I had Clementine & Elise Cripe’s sets. There were like 8 4x6 designs, and 12 3x4 designs and just tons of each. Those did feel very repetitive. Especially Elise’s, all her designs looked the same so the whole box had no variety. But I think the later PL editions were different. I picked up a big set on clearance at JoAnne’s in December or so (it was $1.00!!!!) and there are lots of designs with only 6 duplicates of each. Also, square corners. 🤷🏻♀️ I wondered when the change took place. I would get pulled away from scrapbooking for big chunks of time over the last several years, so I remained very out of the loop.

Dollar Tree had some PL card packs today, I didn’t buy them, but I was super surprised to see them there. My, how Becky has fallen. I wonder if she will sneak in and autograph them?

I'll have to check it out! On a more serious note, her "worthy" instagram post made my blood boil. Sixty five percent of you said you don't feel worthy to scrap about yourselves in the poll we took! THAT is why me and Becky made this audio course! Feeling depressed about your life, pay me money and then I'll fix it!

I don't want to reinstall the app just to look at the logo. Does somebody have a screenshot?
It sounds like Becky is, yet again, behind the trends. The all-neutral, earthy tones and peach, was the rage in 2017-2018. I can see her thinking she's down with the cool kids and on it...

If I had to guess what that app icon represented, it'd be makeup palettes. Sort of an odd choice. What did the previous one look like?

It's totally what I imaged it being: 2017 earthy tone palette. Ah, reminds me of Naked Heat coming out and everybody in the makeup sphere crying that it was overkill and there were too many brown with a hint of honey and peach palettes on the market... Becky's late on the trend, again. And that doesn't even matter because PL is absolutely not associated with those hues anyway. It's amateur branding hour!

Wow that's.... well it's an icon? Sad to say the new one is actually an improvement in ease of recognition. Still doesn't really depict the product well, but at least it's not crammed with super-tiny font and a weird random "Simon Says" circle.
Oh! I just recognized it's supposed to be a camera. I thought it was a weird folder at first.

I’m a bit surprised that she didn’t keep the same brand colors for the new icon. I don’t completely hate the design, in that I do recognize it as looking like a PL template, but are those her new brand colors? Oh man, I just looked at her site and they sort of are... Two peachy blobs and her name in another shade of desert... shrug. Ok.

I guess i didn't realize how much anger? I was holding onto until I word vomited all over my bff yesterday after she made a comment after she bought the editorial pages "The more I buy, the more money can go towards Android development"
Although at this rate I've just resorted to being the red headed step child and need to get an iPad -my layouts don't rotate in landscape mode -i don't have a favorites section -i for sure dont have this last update At this rate I'd be happy with either of the two previous features or just the editorial pages but no search function. Bitter Betty? Just a little this morning lol Yes I understand its different but if she had spent money on a developer instead of wrapping paper....
Oh but yes please raise our kit prices for less features and no new kits
Hold on maybe im not done (and this is for iOs too) how does she/the developer not know when an update will come out? Is Devin a family friend doing this on the side in his free time?
Just thought I'd take you guys along on my little outburst.

Because it's amateur hour and there are no deadlines. AC need to cut ties with her for their digitals too. The AC Digitials website is a hot mess that hasn't been updated in forever and it's in Becky's incompetent hands.

I thought you meant the new logo on her website when you said makeup palette because it looks like 2 smudges of foundation. It won't let me add an image....Error: This forum has exceeded its attachment space limit. Your file cannot be uploaded. Anyway, you can see it on her website: www.beckyhiggins.com/

Y'all. You can go to Shine Cosmetics and get lip glosses created by Becky Squared. One is called Cultivate and one is called Good Life. I kid you not.

I don't understand how she's years late to trends. Everybody consults trend books and they are 2 years early to help you prepare products. How can you be 4 years late? Is she that cheap that she won't spring for a basic access flat fee for a month?

It’s not that she’s late, she’s early for the next round of trends-by about 15 years when it comes back in style. Lol
