New from the makers of Project Life comes Beggy Higgin's Crazy Because I am Full Of Joy Eye Drops. Generic name She gone cray cray." neither staying your Jewish nor swearing will discourage a Jehovas Witness. Trust me I used to live right by one of thier centers and they came almost weekly. Swearing will just make them pray for you right in your porch. Then again she did also have the balls to stick her foot in my door as I closed it after saying a polite ‘no thank you’. Her foot in my door got me swearing and she then just began praying for my ‘damned’ soul. The next week I had learned my lesson & didn’t open the door Oddly enough, I had some older people knock on my door not that long ago. I'm uber polite, so I hate to slam doors in people's faces (plus the concern that it will anger people and encourage vandalism or a break in) but it has happened enough that I really don't care anymore. I have a no soliciting sign on my door (which to me should by default include religion) and people ignore it constantly...most start off by saying they aren't selling anything, it's free (you know, alarm companies give you devices and install at no charge but you pay a monthly fee for the service and have to be in a contract for so many years...which IS IN FACT, contrary to what they believe, solicitation). Anyway, these older people trying to sell me on their religion knocked on the door....I say older because they were probably in their 40's or 50's and I'm used to young kids...the woman was front and center and completely in charge. The guy who was with her stood several steps behind her and said nothing. I told her I was an atheist, proud of it and had no interest in religion whatsoever. The guy behind her just nodded in an uncomfortable 'let's get out of here before she beats us up' kind of way while the lady continued to talk thinking I would stand there and listen. As soon as I said my piece of not being interested, I closed the door in her face. I'm gonna guess that finding new recruits to gain tithes from isn't what the man behind her was suited for and was placed somewhere else in the church, lol.
I've had some other assholes knocking on my door, too...just not religious people. One guy who was donating part of his proceeds to a military charity knocked on the door insisting I needed to drop everything and pay him right that minute to paint my house number on the curb. He acted like I was the rude one for politely declining his services and got really pissed off at me as he escalated his pitch. Felt no guilt slamming the door on that guy's face, that's for sure. Something tells me he doesn't handle being turned down at the bar for a one night stand really well, either.
ETA: I have a security door and I never open it...so fortunately, no one can stop me from slamming the door on them.
There’s no rule that I have to answer my door. So I don’t, unless I know who it is. Just like my phone. 😉

We had them stop by during a garage sale. I was polite, but I felt like they were keeping people from looking.

Yikes. I wonder if American Crafts knows how she is treating customers on social media? Or how they feel about her social media accounts that are 90% crap/10% crafting? I keep hoping AC will step in and force Becky to make changes or buy her out and continue the PL brand without her. I know a lot of Peas are not a fan of AC but in this case I think it's in AC's best interest to remove Becky Higgins from PL so customers' needs are being met. I just toured through AC's website and blog and I can't find Becky or Project Life listed anywhere. Did they drop her? The only current connection I see is the AC Digitals site. Oh wow.... I wonder if she's already been dropped by American Crafts?!

I tell my kids to tell them I am in the bath or napping. Oddly enough they never want to wait around 😂
Oh and Becky is crazy starved for adoration. She was likely privileged and praised often. Now she hires people to do it Monday-Friday. How sad. I do want to slap the shit out of her when she posts about hours long meetings when they are sitting around on couches talking. Get real.

Do you think 'go fuck yourselves' would work? I'm only partially kidding. neither saying your Jewish nor swearing will discourage a Jehovas Witness. Her foot in my door got me swearing and she then just began praying for my ‘damned’ soul. The next week I had learned my lesson & didn’t open the door I used to live down a long drive and as I drove in one day I stopped to collect my mail and as I hello to two older ladies who appeared to be admiring my neighbours flowers. I drove to the house, fiddled around for a bit and as I stepped out of the car, there they were. Offering to help me bring my groceries in. Uh... no. Thanks. Bye. Walked of with my arms full of bags which I dumped by the door and unlocked, let myself in with the first couple of bags... turned around to bring the next ones in .... and bam! Old ladies in my hall taking to me about Jesus's love. I have never ever sworn at older people in my life but man did the world hear some blue words that day!!! I literally had to push them out the door.... and they then prayed for me through the keyhole!!!! I actually had to make out I was calling the cops to make them go away. Have no clue if they were JW LDS or plain mad but no one coming to my door since then has ever had a chance thanks to them crazy ladies

Alternative option: I would have had to find a way to get them to stick around long enough (like waiting outside while I called the cops and then chatted with them until they arrived) for them to be arrested for breaking into my house...as far as I'm concerned that is above and beyond trespassing as they entered your home without your consent. I would probably have been so creeped out that I might have taken a swing or two, though.

I have those meeting on conference calls (from my bed sometimes) and they are hard. This is one of my coworkers trying to hog all the attention. The struggle is real.

I find that they will *eventually* leave if no one opens the door ... and I figure the longer they stand on my doorstep driving my dogs and kids nuts, the less time they will have to harass the neighbourhood ... I like to think of it as doing my civic duty 😉. I especially like to take the kids and dogs out to the backyard and let unsolicited door knockers have at it with the front door knocking ...

If you've ever wanted to scare off someone proselytizing at your house , it seems appropriate to insert this link here, warning NSFW or kids! youtu.be/QarofaycN3cThat's just a clip from mrs. Brown

BIL was approached by proselytizers one day one day when he was painting his house. He told them that if they'd each pick up a paint brush, they were welcome to stay all day and talk about whatever they'd like. But they didn't take him up on his offer.

She's likely just trying to start something.
I can't stand her tactics.

Does anyone know what she's talking about? I'm betting it has to do with General Conference. She was inspired to cultivate or curate her life in a new way. I read a summary and I'm guessing Build a fortress of spirituality and protection. Christian/LDS/Mormon products to buy because I think that's all the audience she has left. Where she goes with that, I don't know.

Ooh, a seriously big rumor that 92% of us haven't heard about! Must be huge! Do tell BH, do tell! We can't wait. /sarcasm/
So, I had to go look... she left it an hour or two and then... big announcement... ... I thought for a second the announcement was that they'd hung the hood above where her stove was going to be. But no, that was just the decoy big news that she felt she had to share from hashtag higginsbuild before the actual announcement. It was for a live event. Very little info being shared but they're so excited. 100 seats. Save the date. I fast clicked through so I don't know if she actually share what the live event actually is.... but I'm assuming the fangirls won't care.

My time off requests for work have to be submitted 3 months in advance. There’s zero chance I can get 2-3 days off with 3 weeks notice and pay more for a plane ticket because it’s less than 30 days out. Either I’m not the target audience and she’s pulled zip code data to be reasonably sure she can fill an event on a weekday with such notice, or she’s totally out of touch with what life is like for the working mothers she purports to be trying to help memory keep.

I think her target audience is mostly stay at home moms, so as long as the kids are still in school... I also think she expects to get mostly local people, or those who can drive from nearby states.

My parents trained us so that we would freeze in place upon hearing a knock or the doorbell 😂 The Ring doorbell has been super helpful. That and the street traffic noise out front.

I was thinking of you guys yesterday as I walked past my neighbor who had been mowing his front yard... until the young elders cornered him. It didn't look like he was going to get away anytime soon. Hopefully they're done with my street before I go out to do my weeding. (That's my excuse for not weeding this week). ETA: must practice saying "I'm Jewish" so I will remember when I'm gardening.
