Conservative columnist Jonah Goldberg of National Review correctly dresses down conservatives who refuse to openly denounce the crackpots and racists among them: Article link. While it’s a start, his language isn’t strong enough. Step in the right direction, which I appreciate. It’s nice to know that there are some rational conservatives left in the world. He leaves too many outs. If conservatives want to save thier party from the extreme lying wackos they will have to take a stronger stance than that. For now they have lost me and other right leaning moderates for the foreseeable future, if not forever. Trump gave too much validity to the racists without anyone standing up to it. The trust is gone. But I do appreciate knowing that there are rational people out there who seem to realize that the ends don’t always justify the means, I’d like if that gave me hope, but it doesn’t.

I just always have hope that hearing reason from one of their own will make it more palatable to the right than it is when they hear it from us.

Never mind him coming to California cause I’m pretty sure I voice the opinion of a majority of Californians that we would prefer he stay out of the state.
But more importantly what trump has not visited since he has been president are our troops in the Middle East.
President Obama took office in January and made his first trip to Iraq in April.

Is it raining in NJ because trump is ranting again..
.”@judgejeanine “Bob Mueller, isn’t your whole investigation premised on a Fake Dossier, paid for by Hillary, created by a man who hates Donald Trump, & used to con a FISA Court Judge. Bob, I really think it’s time for you to give up your phony investigation.” No Collusion!”
“.@govmikehuckabee “Your paycheck is bigger, your pension is stronger.” @foxandfriends Unemployment numbers are better than they have been in 50 years, & perhaps ever. Our country is booming like never before - and it will get even better! Many companies moving back to the U.S.A.”
“Many @harleydavidson owners plan to boycott the company if manufacturing moves overseas. Great! Most other companies are coming in our direction, including Harley competitors. A really bad move! U.S. will soon have a level playing field, or better.”
“Seems like the Department of Justice (and FBI) had a program to keep Donald Trump from becoming President”. @darrellissa @foxandfriends If this had happened to the other side, everybody involved would be in jail. This is a Media coverup of the biggest story of our time.“
Two of the biggest horse’s asses that are “protecting” trump Issa and Nunes are from California. What an embarrassment they are to the state. And we have the third stooge here as we.l. McCarthy, who has his staffer pick out the color of candies trump doesn’t like before he gives trump the candy.

Susan Hennessey....
“We (rightly) talk a lot about Trump's erosion of important norms. Omarosa held an office of public trust too. This is a breach of that trust, a grave security risk, and it likely violates the law. No one, regardless of party, should be applauding this.”
What she doesn’t understand is what she described above is the new White House and this behavior starts with the man at the top. In other words Omarosa’s actions are a reflection of trump’s.

And since it is Sunday, I want to remind everybody that president agent orange will again be attacking the sports figures who fail to stand for the National Anthem as showing disrespect for the Military. The same military that Cadet Bone Spurs got 5 deferments for, and the same Military Veterans for which he has cut benefits for. The same Military that he has failed to visit once at a deployed area in the 20 months of his Presidency.
ANd Puerto Rico is still suffering 13 months after the hurricanse There are still children separated from their parents due to his immigration policy Flint Michigan doesn't have clean water
But I am sure his golf game has improved since the average middle class American is paying for it

“Omarosa will clearly say anything to make a buck. It’s obvious that no one should believe a word she says. #OmarosaUnhinged”
Best response..
Hart Hanson...
“You just described your entire party.”
Can’t argue with that.

“There’s a misimpression that it’d be difficult to sneak a phone into the Sit Room. It wouldn’t be. It’s a system built on trust. These are supposed to be the finest public servants we have. The WH wasn’t designed for the Omarosas of the world. Sad we now have to accommodate them”
Ah trump is not what one would call “finest public servants” and those he surrounds himself with are reflections of himself.
Or as Dan Pfeiffer points out.
“I would note that Omarosa's credentials to work in the White House are the exact same ones that Donald Trump used to get elected to the White House”

“BREAKING: WOW The Republican Governor of Kansas Jeff Colyer accused Kris Kobach of not counting ballots
HE SAID THIS
“Secretary Kobach’s office was instructing counties not to count ballots that are in the mail, and those clearly have to be counted under Kansas law,”
Amazing.

Kobach is another ultra-conservative right wing who says Kansas' biggest threat is illegal immigration. Our biggest threat are ultra-conservative right wing politicians, not illegal immigrants!

“Mick Mulvaney plans to weaken oversight of the Military Lending Act, according to internal agency docs.
The Military Lending Act was created to protect military service members and their families from financial fraud.”
Another example of elections having consequences. But oh well.

“If you read between the lines of a lot of the Senate Democrats' tweets, it's pretty clear that they know Kavanaugh committed perjury in 2006, and the Republicans are holding back the records that would prove it.”
The fact that this guy may have committed perjury should not be ignored by the GOP. But yet here we are.

Do you think Trump hasn't visited the military overseas because they have requested him not to?
Actually, scratch that, The idiot would have tweeted something by now.

Mattis defends reversing his stance on Trump's 'Space Force'BY BRANDON CONRADIS - 08/12/18 09:18 PM EDT Defense Secretary James Mattis on Sunday offered his support for the Trump administration's proposed "Space Force," and defended his stance after having urged lawmakers to oppose it a year ago. Speaking to reporters on board a flight to Brasilia, Mattis insisted he initially opposed the creation of a separate military branch for space because the administration had not yet defined the challenges space posed for the Pentagon. "I was not going against setting up a Space Force; what I was against was rushing to do that before we define those problems," Mattis said. "We've had a year, over a year in defining. And the orbitization of this solution in terms of institutionalizing forward momentum is very important." His comments come days after Vice President Pence visited the Pentagon to announce the first steps in the creation of the Space Force -- despite the fact that Mattis himself had opposed the move when President Trump first announced his plans to create the new military branch. Mattis in July 2017 wrote a letter to Rep. Michael Turner (R-Ohio) calling on lawmakers not to go forward with Trump's proposal. ** Mattis on Sunday acknowledged that Congress will bear much of the responsibility for initiating the creation of a Space Force. But he said there are things the Pentagon will be able to do on its own. "There are things we can move out on immediately," he told reporters. "Actually we already have been, and all this does is give that an emphasis, and give us added support from above that we then take full advantage of, in terms of funding organization, and re-organizing so that we have more -- I would call it more cohesion." ** More at link: thehill.com/policy/defense/401501-mattis-defends-reversing-his-stance-on-trumps-space-forceAnother one who caves........... dt seems to have unbelievable power over seemingly formerly competent people!
