I went back and skimmed through Ali's video again noting down prices. I just cannot pay that kind of $$. $12 for 3 rubber pieces? Crazy money for a few sequins? Those two items were especially poorly priced IMO. And what about the 3 die cut pages for $7.99!!!! Seriously?!

After listening to the prices, I think I am limiting myself to an album and a set of acetate sheets from Ali. The kit would really need to wow me.

It's annoying the kit sneaks are going up just the day before but I guess that's FOMO is practice!

Crao. Maybe we should link up suitable substitutes for some of the items? I didn't pay enough attention to the sequins to know which ones they are but Lord knows there have to be others like them somewhere.

Oh my. I've been reading this thread even though I don't do DD (never have). I honestly think not doing DD is the only reason I'm still an AE fangirl. I get a break from the FOMO shopping & price gouging.

I decided to buy Elle's Studio new Christmas puffy alphas. I am not an alpha fan normally, I don't buy alpha stickers since I prefer to use stamps BUT I love puffy alphas. I've tried making puffy alphas using nuovo drops and failed. Until I can make my own puffies, they will definitely be an embellie I don't mind purchasing.
I don't have a plan for them yet, but I liked that a) they were green (my son's favorite color) & two toned, b) can't ever go wrong with candy cane and c) I appreciate the lack of drama involved in marketing, & buying this product. Also decent shipping too.
So Ali, hey. How about getting with the rest of the businesses these days. Follow Elle's lead. Make yourself the easiest company to do business with. Get rid of the waste of time video. Your customers don't appreciate it. That's 60+ mins of time they can't get back. Just post your pics of all products at the same time, with dimensions and prices that can be viewed clearly.
Get rid of the "drawn out lead in." You are turning off those that aren't in the super fan camp.
In terms of schedule: State day & time when all pics are posted for all products. State day & time when products are available for purchase. State day products will begin shipping. Get rid of flat rate shipping irrespective of purchase cost. If you can't give free shipping when you reach a threshold, state flat rate once that threshold is reached.
I have a life you know, with 2 kids at school and a full time job. I don't have time to remember your complicated schedule. I want easy. No fuss no muss. You know, simple.
Thanks

At the risk of revealing my (very) advanced years and sounding like my mother when Shimelle first began her Journal your Christmas project and Ali's December Daily hadn't even been TM'ed there was no such thing as a kit or purpose made albums and the whole flurry of activity in September was just focused on going back to school. A group of us shared ideas of course and there were Christmas products around, but there wasn't really a ready made kit...just collections from Basic Grey and suchlike Yes - when I first started doing a holiday scrapbook I used a 2up 4x6 photo album and used the Journal Your Christmas prompts. This was before 6x8 albums with divided page protectors. And in those early years I found Ali Edward's projects to be too fussy and crafty - since she usually made a homemade album and decorated every page. I guess that's how she became so synonymous with the December daily project.

I'm still a fan too but I am just going to purchase the 3X8 album b/c I want to try a new size after many years of a 6X8. I can't justify all the expense for the extras. I think with the smaller spine on the 3X8 that will help me not want to add too many other embellishments and attempt to keep it simple. Unless Liz's mini kit bowls me over I am just planning on the album. And I will purchase the other DD items I like when she has her Sale. I'm fine if its next year but I refuse to pay the Premium Prices. Funny how she talks about "it's not about the products" yet she is selling/offering so many products!! It would be interesting to tally up the $$$ spent on the album she puts together to see what the cost would be if someone were to use the exact same products she uses... What do you think? $200? more, less?

It's annoying the kit sneaks are going up just the day before but I guess that's FOMO is practice! Yep. Like really what are you afraid will happen if you show it to us early? You might find 25 people who don't want it so that's less traffic on your site at launch. Or people are more prepared so they'll make less wrong orders thus costing you money? Still, the kits sell out every year and according to FB they do this every year? This is the first year I've decided to go with Ali's kit early so the closest I've watched release so I'm not sure.

You might find 25 people who don't want it so that's less traffic on your site at launch. Or people are more prepared so they'll make less wrong orders thus costing you money? The less time you have to think it through, compare it to everything else that's on the market, do the math, the more you'll spend. Ali's in a position now that allows her to play the FOMO game big time (smaller players can't: they have to tease, make sure they release their stuff early or showcase it fully before Ali's DD order selection order begins to ensure they have enough customers). anniefb I watched the video with pen and paper to keep track of the price points. I had way too many "Did I just hear that right?" moments. Some things are very expensive. Taking out the kit elements ("we've listened to you!") to price them as separate mini sets of embellishments (and cards, and papers, and transparencies) is both genius and not sustainable in the long run. Far too much money. Part of her customer base is bound to sober up and realise it's like picking stuff from traditional SB lines (except for way more money). Imagine if Crate Paper had three rubber pieces for 12.99. We'd be calling them bonkers and pointing out the big 12x12 paper pad is just a couple dollars more. linhaz Love your idea of tallying up what Ali's DD album ends up costing in terms of products from her shop this year. Definitely going to keep a mental sticky note of that. I'm curious myself. creative*moma Yes, those are from last year's EPP Christmas release. I believe the red buffalo check is a basic white on the inside. However, beware, the black and white has a dotted black paper on the inside (I moaned about it at length on last year's DD thread when I received my order ). Just thought you'd like to know in case you're considering ordering one. Quality is great, by the way!

I'm not sure if the insides would bother me yet...thinking about going back and doing 2014 and last years (have all pictures and journaling, just didn't scrap it) but I also have two different Golden Books I might use. 🤔 Both Echo Park albums are on sale at Scrapbook.com and Echo Park's Outlet Store if anyone is interested!

Just to note: the EP red and black buffalo check album is black inside. I just received mine in the mail. (I was a bit disappointed that is was not polka dotted!)

My first round of Dec Daily product has arrived!
#1 - Elles Studio came today! Talk about quick shipping! I did not order the kit. I ordered add ons (puffy stickers, 25 acrylic, wood confetti, papers, red journal tags). I like it all. I was debating on going back and ordering the whole kit but I have decided not to. I really don't like the 'candy' theme, pink or turquoise.
#2 Color Cast Designs - I ordered a 3x8 album, but its not for Christmas, HOWEVER, I do think I might go back and order a clear 6x8 album from her. Super nice weight acrylic. I like it a bunch. The 3x8 is going to be a travel album and I cannot wait to use it.

I have debated getting back on and getting the kit, but I think I can resist. I might still grab a stamp though, they looked great. I can’t wait to see the acrylic 25 in person. I love the font she chose for that.

It'd be nice of we saw a sneak of the KP massive holiday release before Ali's go on sale, too. Her e-mail said "soon" and it would seem smart to give buyers an idea before they flock to AE... but, who knows?

I just checked my invoice from last year's DD order and I paid $4 int shipping and that included two 4x6 albums that were on sale, a mini kit and some stamps and other small items. I admit that I would have paid more for the shipping (maybe $10) but going from that to flat rate $15 is a bit much, especially if you aren't considering buying an album or the main kit. I was only thinking of buying a few embellishments and maybe the mini kit, now I really don't think I will be getting anything. To be honest, nothing has really interested me so far from what I've seen of the sneaks, and the prices!!, so I'll just use my stash and keep it simple.

Here's another option for those trying to settle on an album... I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do.

I still think the Simple Stories album is the best option for me. Just waiting to see if there's a SB.com code for Labour Day.
