I still think the Simple Stories album is the best option for me. Just waiting to see if there's a SB.com code for Labour Day. I’m leaning more and more to it too. When is labour day? If you're asking when it is in the US, its tomorrow (Monday). I'd think they would have already started the sale if they were going to do one.

Does anyone know if Simple Stories uses consistent color palettes year to year? (or is Doodlebug the only company that really does that?) I have some stuff from last year's Simple Stories Christmas line (the one Layle used with the wood printed album) and I'm wondering if it will play nicely with this year's stuff if I buy Layle's kit...? I guess maybe I could ask her on Instagram. Quoting myself to continue this thought... I asked Layle about the colors on her IG post, but all she did was like my question without actually answering it. So I guess she lost a $60 sale. I couldn't think of a way to point out the question I asked and ask it again/demand an answer without being bitchy about it, and TBH this just saves me some money. I was fully ready to spend a whole lot more than I had planned (thanks to y'all, wonderful enablers) but now I realize I don't care and I'll find plenty of other fun places to spend my money as the season winds on (like FYC ).

I'm not really interested in Ali's kit or add-on. Usually, I love Jasmine's stuff but it seems to be a repeat of what she has done in the past. I don't need embossing cards because I can do that myself. I'm leaning towards the Steve Duncan kit. Steve Duncan kit?! Please elborate. I love his stuff.

Where did you hear this?

Echo Park - December Days 2018 is on sale today at Scrapbook.com. It has a bit more rustic vibe. I think the album is really pretty.

ok, I need you to spam me with albums if they exist.
I'm not feeling the Carta Bella, the Simple Stories, or either of the AE albums. I've looked at JoAnn, SB.com, ACOT, and blue moon.
I need a 6X8 and I prefer something simple. Like just red.
Do you think Studio Calico will release any 6X8 albums?
One thing I may have to go with is the robin's egg blue striped album from Simple Stories (maybe snap).
Do you think anyone will release an album?
I'm not into open books with rings for DD. I am more into a cleaner look.
Thanks!

blemon I think SC said something about more 6x8 and 9x12 albums but don't think it's until November? And no guarantee what the colours will be.

They always get back pretty quickly. My last resort will be to buy their navy or cream colored one. I like the look of the faux leather albums you can find but I don't think the spine is big enough for me.

I like the gold album a lot and the red BH. Do they both have the 1" rings? I feel like the AE and SC ones have bigger spines.
Thanks for posting these!

That's the problem with everything but SC and Ali's albums - they have the smaller spine and rings. I used to use the SS albums for PL and could just get 25 pages in. It's doable but would be tight for DD particularly if you like some dimension.

I'll either get the grey AE one (not too excited about it but I don't hate it). And maybe I'll go navy and get that SC one. Fingers crossed they release a red one. I'm also going to search ebay... I use the snap albums for our summer travel journals and they are FULL. No way I could get 25 days in one.

The SS with the striped spine is the bigger spine.

Any Hanukkah lines this year? I didn't even know about Photoplay's from last year, just ordered it when browsing ACOT. Also have the Pinkfresh one which is super cute.

Ali posted that there will be changes in the DD shopping experience this year. Also, she will reveal the DD kits tomorrow. She has a blog post up. They’ve revamped the shopping experience which can only mean baaaaad things are in store. Who knows maybe they’ve actually tested this platform this year.

I watched the facebook live after it was posted and they explained that instead of having all the products load at once, they are breaking them into categories to help load times. They are also getting more servers than last year to handle the increased load.

Can you imagine how big the cluster F*ck this will be with Ali on ordering day? Why, oh why do she always pull this shit out on large volume days instead of implementing it on a regular day so kinks can be worked through?
Also, on a positive note, she has updated the flat rate shipping. $5 domestic and $15 international.

Me too @avocado lol! I read through the blog post and I feel stressed lol. JK of course. There are much more important things! Truthfully, I appreciate that they're aware of the major issues they've had in the past and that they're trying to make it a smoother process but wow...I feel like it's going to take an act of Congress to get my order through (if I order that is). I'm glad I already have a stupid big Christmas stash. I have lots of options as it is.

At the risk of revealing my (very) advanced years and sounding like my mother when Shimelle first began her Journal your Christmas project and Ali's December Daily hadn't even been TM'ed there was no such thing as a kit or purpose made albums and the whole flurry of activity in September was just focused on going back to school. A group of us shared ideas of course and there were Christmas products around, but there wasn't really a ready made kit...just collections from Basic Grey and suchlike Yes - when I first started doing a holiday scrapbook I used a 2up 4x6 photo album and used the Journal Your Christmas prompts. This was before 6x8 albums with divided page protectors. And in those early years I found Ali Edward's projects to be too fussy and crafty - since she usually made a homemade album and decorated every page. I guess that's how she became so synonymous with the December daily project. That, and she trademarked it! 😂 On the DD Instagram page, they've been showing highlights from past albums, and I really like the unique nature of those early albums more than the cookie cutter versions. 😢

I think the separate tabs/categories is a bad idea. The portions I watched of her video, she wasn't even sure what category to classify some of the products. For example, some items are in the "paper" category when they are die-cuts. I think this is going to frustrate people because 1.) They may think an item they want is in one place, but it will be in another. 2.) They will decide to go for, let's say the stamps first, and when they get to, let's say the embellishments category, the page won't load, and items they want will have sold out.
Personally, I think it would be easier to have all the NEW 2108 DD products on a single page. Any past kits and basics/essentials (page protectors, adhesive, pens, etc.) in a separate category. I just think they are making this way harder than what it has to be, or should be. An ACTUAL pre-order would be best, and I don't understand why they don't execute DD in that manner.
