missbellejane hang in there... It sounds like you're having a really rough time, so yeah, don't worry about an album. Maybe in a few months you'll look back and be able to find some good things to document, but if not, no big deal. The supplies aren't going to go off. Hopefully things will get easier soon and everyone can get some rest and relief. {{ Big hugs! }}

I am so envious of all the gorgeous albums, pages and spreads I've been seeing. Approaching December I knew that this year would be a tough one. But it's turned out way harder than I expected it to be. I've been dealing with so much stress and anxiety. And now sleep deprivation + extra stress and anxiety because my three year old has really levelled up her bedtime resistance so I have now been dealing with 1-2 hours of battles at the start of the night, and multiple night-wakings, sometimes ended up in another 1-2 hours of battling to get her to stay in bed and go to sleep. Suffice to say that I have not even touched my album, I've barely even walked into my study. I have been loosely documenting a story for each day. But right now I am really feeling like I want to just forget about this year altogether. Big bah humbug over here! I’m sorry to hear. I’ve been very stressed and anxious myself and my almost three year old only sleeps through maybe once a week (at least he’s finally weaned as that was killing me). My study is currently a dumping ground for mess and my DD is under it. So I hear you! Hang in there xx

All my DD album has is a quote (serving as a 'intention') and a cover page. I do have stories to tell + I've taken photos so hopefully when things are a bit brighter in my life I can work on it. I am actually resenting DD this year (which is ridiculous). It haunts me that I have done nothing for it this year, as it is a project I absolutely love and usually have completed by New Years. This year, my album just mocks me, as it sits on the bottom of the paper piles on my desk. LOL I have so many ideas and no motivation to get it done in between everything else. So it waits.

I'm with you all who are struggling a bit. I'm feeling behind which is silly because I finished my 2017 DD in September of this year so I know it's fine. I'm pouting because I ended up going out of town for the first part of Christmas break. I was driving but couldn't bring myself to pack up 1/2 my scrap room in order to have everything I needed. It felt like too much of a hassle. I was looking forward to a long stretch with no work and sold time in my scrap room but that's not how it worked out. On the road, I'm trying to get caught up with all the digi stuff I need to do like the photo editing (hate, hate, double hate) getting pictures laid out for printing (loath entirely), and journaling so when I do get home, I can print and be ready to go. It's not the same though as getting to play with all the pretty things.
Neat to hear how everyone is handling the later part of the month. I usually go all the way through New Year's Eve and even New Year's Day if we do something fun. I love that DD pushes me to do more fun Christmas related activities. I'm glad I gave it a go again this year even if I end up completing my album in August.

I’m debating about stopping at Christmas versus finishing through the month. Since I’m doing only holiday related stories this year I’m leaning towards stopping, calling it good, and moving on.

I will go through New Years Day, as we take an annual trip to Las Vegas to celebrate NYE. I am thinking of making a similar, but smaller, book like Ali's or using tags and making a mini album to include in my album. Not sure how that will work out yet.

Prompt n°23: The big prep
Here comes Christmas... And all the stress before the big day! In Europe, we're now just 24h away from midnight on the 24th. The big family gathering happens on Christmas Eve in quite a few families where gifts are opened at midnight (what? we're just impatient!). Are you too hurrying to the store for some final items? Maybe you're picking up a few special orders? Are you already cooking? Do you have a schedule all written up to make sure everything is ready in time? Do you have gifts to wrap? Luggage to pack before travelling to see your loved ones? This is what we're documenting: the storm before the calm. Photo ideas: the items you hurried to buy at the grocery store in your cart/on the conveyor belt/in the trunk, wrapping the last gifts to put under the tree, cooking in the kitchen, your fridge full of yummy things for the big meal, picking someone up at the airport, the table being set, a screenshot of that last minute order placed online for delivery just in time.
Song of the day:

joblackford , I love the photos Of Nordstrom’s flagship store! I took pictures in Nordstrom the other day, too, inspired by your packaging post. This is my favorite store decoration ever! The felt pinecone and baubles are so beautiful! (Photos removed ) Hang in there, everybody! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! It’s coming whether we’re ready or not.

Thanks for the inspiration sleepingbooty. Love seeing everyone's albums and pics. I spent the morning cleaning the kitchen and am just about to settle down with my album to work on my 3 remaining days' pages to get up to date. Unfortunately out weather has been most unseasonable - torrential downpours and thunder yesterday afternoon and drizzle today. in typical fashion it's set to improve after Boxing Day. The friends I'll be spending tomorrow with are wondering where to put everyone as they'd hoped we could be outside!

joblackford oaksong Thank you so much for the Nordstrom pictures. ❤️ Loving the Scandinavian vibes in a modern setting. The Christmas tree arch is so fun. I wonder which artist they pad this year for the design: that pink moose "totem" on one of the store columns is striking.
mom That DD album is a symbol of your change in circumstances this year. Don't feel bad about resenting it: I think it's totally normal. *hugs* You'll eventually get to it when you feel ready to tackle it. I'm glad to read you're mainting your LV NYE trip as usual. It's good to keep some normalcy through troubled times. Wishing you and your loved ones extra cosy holidays. 🌟
scrappyem This thread will keep going after December for a bit so you can always play along then. 😉 I'm putting down the crafty stuff for a few days too. Travel and family come first right now. Papers and embellies will have to wait. C'est la vie. *French shrug*
missbellejane Ren Sorry about 💥 the terrible threes 💥 hitting a little hard this December. I hope you can find more peaceful bedtime and sleep soon.
dudleypippen If the big celebrations are over with Christmas for you, I think you should totally give yourself a pat on the back and close the book. You definitely don't need to feel the pressure to round it off "perfectly" by going all the way to the 31st. Give yourself permission to stop when it feels right (bonus: it's a great way not to feel too overwhelmed by this energy-sucking project). 👍
anniefb Slightly unseasonal weather here too. It's so soft and nice. I worry about the rest of the winter! I feel like we're going to get it handed to us twice as harsh to make up for all the clear skies and kind temperatures we've had so far. Eep! Today is predicted to go up to 18°C! Absolutely unusual and unreal. We're not supposed to be above 13-ish in the afternoons at this time of the year... I'm at a loss as what to wear: my usual winter coat is too keeping me too warm during the day. Wishing you a fun Friendmas (make sure you get there on time so you don't have to play musical chair to have a seat 😁).

To my fellow December documenters: I will likely be offline for the next 48h, probably surviving in a state of food coma and tipsy haziness. Bring on ALL the food and ALL the fine wine bottles! 🥂 I want to wish everyone, participants and lurkers, a very merry Christmas, no matter your religious background or traditions. I hope you all stay safe and feel loved. 💖
To anyone who might not be spending the holidays with loved ones this year and is feeling a little lonely: you are in my thoughts. I wish I could give you a big hug and invite you over to our family table for the evening. Please take good care of yourself during these times and make sure you do something that makes you feel special.
Prompts n°24 and n°25: 🎄 MURRAY KREESMUS, Y'ALL! 🎅
Christmas. Christmas. Christmas. Do you need prompts? No, you don't! Go ahead. Snap as many or as little photos as you want. Just make sure you enjoy the moment. That's the most important thing, after all. If the usual things are less important at this stage of your life (like opening gifts), think ahead of what you can focus on instead for your documenting so you can adjust your photographer hat and set new expectations. Don't forget to check Snapchat with your geo location turned on for some special holiday filters. Mine currently has a fun Coca-Cola sponsored one with a personalised Coke bottle showing my name. They've also launched holiday filters to snap selfies with your dog or cat!
Song of the day (one of my very favourites this year 😍):
Over & temporarily out. 💋
PS: Happy belated Festivus to my fellow atheists. May the pole have brought out your best dance moves. 😉

Merry Christmas all! This song was the finale at the Seattle LGBTQ Men's Chorus performance I went to yesterday. (I found a random video of the music on YT - just Xmas lights I think) I challenge you to sing and dance along with it as we did. N . O . E . L !

sleepingbooty -- thanks so much for the weather report! I have it in my mental plans for 2-3 years from now. I'd also like to go to some traditional outdoor european christmas markets as well. Not sure where to find those so I'll have to do some research. I'm thinking Germany.

Just got all caught up on the last few pages! Sounds like everyone is busy and getting ready for the holiday.
I've been catching up on adding pics of my DD to Instagram. I'm going to do another page tonight. Then after Christmas finish it up. I'm taking off all the days between xmas and new years.
Hope everyone has a great night and great Christmas!

Merry Christmas Pea peeps. Greetings from a rather wet Orewa just north of Auckland. It’s been a lovely Christmas Day - definitely eating too much so soon I’ll be rolling my way home. Looking forward to a relaxing Boxing Day tomorrow and hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.

anniefb it's too funny how small a world it is - I spent most of my childhood Christmaases in Orewa! Of course it used to be/feel soooo far away from Glenfield. We would debate whether to drive up the Albany way or via the East Coast Bays road... I always preferred Albany. Mum went to school in Dairy Flat. The place is almost unrecognizable to me now. My parents have sent me photos of my brother hogging the trifle so it must be Christmas! We're going to sleep now, Santa is going to be passing us by, but we'll see what mountain of toys he dropped off for my 9yo nephew tomorrow afternoon. Merry Christmas

joblackford , I live in an Albany... but a very different one (the capital of New York, USA), but I had to laugh at seeing the word Albany jump out from your small world post. haha I hope everyone had/is having an excellent Christmas! My husband & I exchange gifts on Christmas Eve so we finished that last night and now it's early Christmas morning. I'm just fitting in some scrapbooking time before we head to my sister in-laws house later today for Christmas dinner and to exchange gifts with family. And of course to see what Santa brought for my niece and nephew! I decided I am wrapping my December Daily up on the 25th, I am ready to put the supplies away and the album is FULL. I have through the 22nd complete so on the 26th I will likely finish the album (and possibly do a day or two this morning) and then ready to move onto something else. Yesterday I had planned to spend most of the day scrapbooking and my photo printer decided to go all wonky and print colors off and it took me nearly all day to resolve it. I was so frustrated! But it's fixed now (it took a ton of messing with settings, that were never touched in the first place so I have no clue how they got messed up & a ton of wasted ink and photo paper... cringe) so hopefully I can have a quiet morning scrapbooking. Here's a few more days in my album. I'll share the rest here as I catch up my instagram over the next couple of days (just waiting for the sun to rise so I can photograph the next few pages...) https://www.instagram.com/p/BrpwJvBD7u3 https://www.instagram.com/p/BrvHW0yjehb https://www.instagram.com/p/Brx0WQsjx5E https://www.instagram.com/p/BryPv7AjnCt Merry Christmas! ETA: Is everyone able to see my photos? The embed looks like it's working, but I'm getting an error code pop up that says it can't find instagram and the photo itself isn't loading (just the caption, etc.).
