I think you have to upload it to a photo hosting site (photobucket etc.)

But do you just place the URL in the box marked "signature" in the profile? I did that and there's a link at the bottom. How do I actually include the photo?

In your signature, I do believe it needs IMG and /IMG inside of brackets before and after the link (and I think the link might need to have http:// to start it off.)
