The Weekly Standard....
“A year after President Trump announced his Afghan policy, the Taliban are closer to victory than we are.”
I guess this is an example of trump winning.

Jennifer Jacobs...
“NEW: Trump says Dems can’t impeach him because he’s “doing a great job.”
If he’s impeached, he told me and @margarettalev in an interview, then every future president would be in danger of the same fate whenever the opposition gains control of Congress.”
On one hand you want to laugh and on the other hand you want to cry.
The man has done absolutely nothing to benefit anyone in this country except rich which includes him.

Kyle Griffin...
“Trump defends his handling of McCain's death: Asked if he missed an opportunity to unite the country and made a mistake, Trump disagreed.
"No, I don't think I did at all," he said. "I've done everything that they requested and no, I don’t think I have."
“I’ve done everything that was requested” is yet another example of why he is unfit to be president.

Sen. Mark Warner, D-Virginia, wrote: "Let's be clear: The President's decision to cancel any pay increase for federal employees is not motivated by a sudden onset of fiscal responsibility. Today's announcement has nothing to do with making government more cost-efficient -- it's just the latest attack in the Trump administration's war on federal employees." While the Washington area contains the largest concentration of federal workers, only 1-in-6 civilian employees of the government live in the region. The state with the largest number of federal workers is California, followed by Virginia, the District of Columbia and Texas. States Trump won in 2016 -- including Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio -- also rank high on the list of states where federal employees work. This will help his agenda of getting rid of career employees in the Federal Government.... Political employees are better, but does he understand his people will be gone......... oh right he is not planning on going anywhere it seems. HE does not understand career employees!! Federal employees who are statistically highest in numbers of veterans. But he loves the veterans!

“I’ve done everything that was requested” is yet another example of why he is unfit to be president. He is the president he should know what is right and what should be done. Simple enough to speak from the heart.

Josh Marshall
“Trump: "They want to raid Medicare to pay for socialism."
Prompted this from Jon Cryer...
“Oh please please please please, if there are any Trump supporters who read this PLEASE, can you try to talk me out of thinking that the people at this Trump rally are THE STUPIDEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD?”
trump is getting more and more outrageous with his claims.

An interesting thread..
Morning Joe...
‘Totally dishonest’: Trump asserts only he can be trusted over opponents and ‘fake news’
Ron Howard in response...
“I know a lot of people who know Trump well. they say he will bankrupt us like he has so many of his companies..but get richer himself. this 3rd World demagogue’s propaganda is insulting. He thinks voters will accept this total attempt at brainwashing in place of real leadership?
Prompted this reply from a Melissa...
“I don't trust anyone in politics.”
Which prompted this response from Ron Howard..
“and yet, if we don’t participate we are handing all control over to “them”. please #Vote”
He is right. Too many people choose not to participate in the 2016 election by not voting for one of the two candidates who would be president. And look where we are today. “Them” are now driving this country into the ground.

I watched a clip from Chuck Todd's show on Twitter last night. They were talking about Mueller's investigation and the midterms, and saying that Mueller would likely go quiet now until the election, and stating that Labor Day weekend kind of marks the official start of the midterm election races.
They all seemed to think that big stuff might happen today if Mueller wants to get anything public before the midterms.
Oh, how I love indictment Fridays...please Mr. Mueller, please let us have an indictment Friday.

ABC News...
“60% disapprove of Pres. Trump, numerically the highest of his presidency; 53% disapprove strongly, the first time more than half have said so in an @abc News/WaPo poll.”
Also in the poll....
”Suspicions of the president relating to the Mueller investigation are substantial. Sixty-one percent say that if assertions by Cohen are true, Trump broke the law. Fifty-three percent also think Trump obstructed special counsel Robert Mueller’s work.”
“The national survey, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates, finds that half the public supports Congress initiating impeachment proceedings against Trump, 49-46 percent; support rises to 57 percent among women. And support for the investigation running its course is broader: Americans overall back Mueller’s probe by 63-29 percent. Fifty-two percent support it strongly, a high level of strong sentiment.”

Oh, how I love indictment Fridays...please Mr. Mueller, please let us have an indictment Friday. Oh I hope so. It would be fitting today with all the acknowledgement toward McCain and the funeral. While President agent Orange sits pouting alone, and everyone else is paying accolades to an true statesman, let dump stew and await his faith. Lets start by indicting Jr.

I would think the opposite - shouldn't it be MORE important to ramp up the investigation prior to the election? Don't people want to know BEFORE they vote?

There will be too many screaming that Mueller is politicizing/trying to influence the election over the next couple months. That seemed to be their point of view. Though I certainly am more inclined to see it YOUR way.

More numbers from the ABC Poll..
Note the last one,
Jim Sciutto....
“New ABC/WaPo poll: -60% disapprove of Trump, 36% approve -45% say corruption in Washington has increased since Trump took office, 13% say decreased -63% support Mueller probe -53% say Trump obstructed justice -64% say Trump should not fire Sessions -66% oppose Manafort pardon”

I have never considered the term “monkey this up” to be racist. To me it is just like saying “someone threw a monkey wrench into your plans” meaning they are making things difficult. I think saying that he is racist based on that one statement alone is ridiculous and part of the reason people scream about liberal tears and persecution complexes. If this guy has a history of saying terrible things then maybe he did mean it to be racist, but I completely disagree that that one phrase was racist. I am sure the peas will tell me if I am wrong though. You might not consider this racist but it is. Did you grow up in the USA? Have you not seen black people depicted as monkeys? To use the word monkey in connection with a POC is racist. Andrew Gillum is a POC. ETA: if you are talking about a white person "Monkeying this up" then that has the meaning of making things difficult. But not when your are talking about a POC. You have to take into account the history of this country. Except he didn’t say anything about the candidate. He was talking about socialist policies.

Kyle Griffin...
“The Star has obtained remarks that Trump wanted off the record about his negations on a trade deal with Canada.
The remarks immediately upended negotiations. Trudeau officials saw them as evidence that Trump's team had not been bargaining in good faith.”
Very little of what trump does is in good faith...
