DOJ demands North Carolina voting records be given to immigration authoritiesBY MICHAEL BURKE - 09/06/18 09:01 AM EDT The Department of Justice is demanding that millions of voter records in North Carolina be turned over to immigration authorities this month. The subpoena, made at the request of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, comes after the Justice Department said last month that 19 noncitizens in the state had illegally voted in the 2016 election. The subpoena requests that the state turn over “any and all voter registration applications and/or other documents ... that were submitted to, filed by, received by, or maintained by the North Carolina State Board of Elections” between Jan. 1, 2010 through Aug. 30 of this year. Specific documents requested include voter registration forms, absentee ballots and provisional voting forms. The request could cover more than 15 million documents that North Carolina will have to turn over, the state told CNN. More at link: thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/405311-doj-demands-north-carolina-voting-records-be-given-to" absentee ballots and provisional voting forms" I am trying to figure out what they mean by this.. To my knowledge the voter's name does not appear on the actual ballot, in fact no identifying information at least here in NJ. Absentee and provisional ballots are in numerous envelopes Identifying information is on an attached tear off paper on the outer envelope which is removed from the envelope by tearing off the the information, and is placed separated from the envelope holding the actual ballot. All those envelopes are gathered up and opened together as Absentee or Provisional. Again to my knowledge there is no way to know who voted on that ballot .

Kyle Griffin...
“According to Axios, a "good number" of current White House officials have privately admitted to them they consider Trump unstable, and at times dangerously slow. The really deep concern and contempt has been at the agencies.”
You don’t need White House staffers telling us that, we see it with our own eyes. That is if you are paying attention.

Kyle Griffin... “Cory Booker says he's going to violate Senate rules and release an email kept confidential on "racial profiling" to "expose" that docs being withheld "have nothing to do with national security." "I understand that the penalty comes with potential ousting from the Senate." (ABC)” They all joined Booker.

He’s got a point. Especially with the GOP in Congress missing in action.

Nicole Wallace touched on this yesterday...has the media been too polite and not focused enough on pointing out where trump appears to be mentally impaired. When nothing seems to matter though, I'm not sure how much time the media should be spending on it. Truly unsure.

“a pretty obvious point but anonymous NYT op-ed writer affirmed from inside the Trump administration everything Hillary Clinton said in 2016 about Trump’s fitness for the presidency”
Yup. Again we really didn’t Hillary to tell us that because the evidence was right in front of us the entire time and too many people ignored it and voted for t4ump in spite of it.

As I said on the class size thread, Bezos' interest on his $140 billion in wealth CONSERVATIVELY comes to about 7 BILLION PER YEAR. Just his annual interest on his wealth is enough to hire 100,000 teachers and pay them $70,000/year. But carry on, Amazon, consolidating wealth while your workers work in stifling warehouses and pony up for assistance paid for by the middle class who can't afford sophisticated off-shore tax dodges. I agree with this completely, but not Bernie's method. There is a big disconnect between the salaries at Amazon. I was shocked when a friend of my DD, who was the Head of a major division of Amazon, told me his income. It was $125,000 annually, and he reported to only one person, and supervised 80. Not a surprise when he went to another company at double the pay. For his title and responsibilities, he was sadly underpaid. And it is considerably less for lower level employees. But this is across the board. Remember our Republican representatives have voted themselves pay raises multiple times, and kept the Federal wage level at $7.25. That is not a living wage for anyone. Studies have shown that you cannot even rent an apartment in most states with wages at that level, let alone pay for medical, food etc. Corporate profits have skyrocketed while wages and hours for low level employees have remained stagnate. Until the Federal government increases the minimum wage, (and tax corporations at an appropriate level) our economy will continue to decline. And on another note, Churches, with income or assets over a certain level, should also be taxed.

If you enter your email, you will continue to get emails from the Trump camp (and get put on a list of Republicans in your area). At least that is the only reason why I can explain why I am on his mailing list now. lol. He sends out emails like this all of the time. I also got several mailings that were named various things, including "official census information". They were just like this survey. I always email them back letting them know why I won't be donating $2700 to his campaign. After I tire of this, it goes to spam.

“BREAKING: Brett Kavanaugh was asked in 2004 about whether he was involved in the nomination of Bill Pryor. He said “I was not involved in handling his nomination"
Newly released emails show that's not true. Asked about how Pryor's interview went, he replied "CALL ME."
Well then he fits right in with trump & company because they all lie.

From trump.. “I’m draining the Swamp, and the Swamp is trying to fight back. Don’t worry, we will win!” Yea right. What an idiot. The people fighting back were placed in "the swamp" by him! How many of his followers won't even recognize this disconnect?

Kyle Griffin... “Mazie Hirono announces that she'll also release a Committee confidential document to the press, says that if Cory Booker is going to be punished, "count me in, too." It would seem the Democrats are finally finding their backbones. WaPo is reporting that the emails were declassified yesterday and Booker risked nothing by releasing them. As usual Booker is all flash and no substance. His whole career is one stunt or photo op after the next. I wish he had that kind of backbone.

Melania Trump is married to a 72 year-old man who has spent the better part of five decades leaking malicious and damaging rumors and information about friends, enemy and his own family members to gossip pages and reporters. So let's take her distaste under advisement.

The fact “she” said failing NYT tells me right ere, Trump wrote this.. She’s said it a couple of times now. I think she’s just under orders to always refer to NYT that way now. I think Trump operates on the idea that if he says something often enough, it will become a reality. Wasn’t there a book like that a decade or so ago? Typical hokum and exactly the kind of thing he’d by into.
