I did a road trip and went to a couple LSS back in the early summer. I saw an odd template for wreath building with stamps and a stamp platform. It is a clever idea, but I knew I could make one super easy. I did not want to pay the price they were charging.
I also figured I had plenty of stamps at home that would work. I do have some, but not as many as I thought, so I am kicking myself for not buying the stamps, even though I didn't buy the template. Now I want some of the stamp sets. Are there any you recommend? I know Gina K is the one who came up with the system. Where is a good online store to buy her products, please? And are there any others besides hers?
Edited to add: a second look through turned up more promising stamps than I thought. I may still buy some of those that have been recommended in this thread (and I really DO appreciate the recommendations!), but I do need to see whether what I have will work, especially since I am running out of stamp storage space.

Simon Says Stamp carries the templates and the wreath builder stamp sets.

Thank you. Are they quick to ship, and reliable? I can't remember what online stores have been reported as having good service vs. bad.
Edited to add: never mind. I am running out of space for stamp storage. Until I resolve that issue, I think I should stop buying stamps.
The wreath building system is cool, though. I love the cards I have seen on Pinterest.

I like that system too. I already have a few stamp sets her set up will work perfect with. I created my own template using my Silhouette and 110# cardstock. Works perfectly. I'm going to the Gina K demo at my LSS next week and I plan on purchasing the fall wreath builder set. I don't get to my LSS often (it's really a "not so local scrap store") and I try to support them with purchases when I do go. If you don't want to order from SSS, you can place an order directly from the Gina K website.

Are they quick to ship, and reliable? Even though you're not in the market right now, I will answer that SSS is OK, but not great. They are quite slow to get the product packed and out the door. Sometimes a week will pass before you get the "it's shipped!" email, which drives me nuts. Then maybe several days to get the product in your hands. But they are trustworthy. I've not had any problems with them, nor heard of any, besides the interminable wait for the stamps to get into a box and into the mail... I order elsewhere if I can. (I'm currently itching to get the cute monster I ordered from their Stamptember thing the other day so I can start playing with him. I am not feeling patient. They're not a small small business, so I feel like they shouldn't be so slow - hire some more packers during your huge event!) I'm interested in the idea of the wreath builder but not enough to find out how to do it for myself. It sounds like you might have enough stamps to get started - I'd love to see what you make if you do. I wonder if it's as much fun to work with as it looks, or if it's one of those things that you do for a week and then never think of again...?

I just got the wreath builder set and the autumn and Christmas sets. It is so slick, although I need to practice some more. I ordered from SSS and from Gina K's website.
It's kind of addicting. I've been trying all sorts of stamps. I bet you could do it with a bunch of the stamps in your stash.
Thanks for the Pinterest idea. I need to check that out for ideas.

Eddie-n-Harley I ordered the cactus one too! I think I ordered on the 10th. I had been so good until I saw the monster, but once I gave in to that I figured I may as well get the cactus as well...

Good thing you got the monster-- he's sold out now! I am still annoyed with myself that I didn't get last year's Technique Tuesday set, so I decided that if I saw sets I wanted this year, I would have to order them when I first saw them. But I talked myself out of the cactus dies, so I figured that I saved $20, so even if I have to order more than once from Stamptember, I'm still a little ahead!

Probably the best place to buy Gina K products is her website - Gina K designs: www.shop.ginakdesigns.com/main.scYears ago, I used to make wreaths using peg stamps from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. They have so many different designs and stamps and I found it to be a lot of fun: pegstamps.com/

I have all 3 Wreath Builder sets, plus the templates, and I love them! I bought one in a scrapbook store and the other 2 at Gina K's booth at a show. I probably could have cut the templates myself, but they really aren't expensive. Personally, I wouldn't order from SSS. They have a terrible reputation for shipping, especially when things get a little busy. I would order directly from her. Gina K's shipping is fast and accurate.

Oh, the temptation! You gals are serious enablers!
I do have a few peg stamps that I bought from Judikins at a convention years ago. I can't remember if I unmounted those or if they are among the few that I left to the last and never got done before we moved. I unmounted most of my large rubber stamp collection 3 or 4 years ago to make them easier to store, find, and use.
I think I will be going through my stamps this morning to see what I have. I really should not be buying more stamps, but I love what you can do with wreath building and other scenes using these kinds of stamps. Maybe looking through what I have will squash the desire to buy, maybe not, but at any rate, thanks to all of you for your suggestions!

I like the wreath builder sets and Jennifer McGuire (arch enabler) has some great videos showcasing them. But I've restrained myself so far because I do have other wreath sets and need to be careful how many stamps I'm buying as my storage is filing up as well. I think if I was going to buy one of the sets it would be the holiday one. Concord and 9th also have a wreath turnabout which I had my eye on a while ago. concordand9th.com/products/wreath-turnabout

They are so quick and easy to use. Put a sentiment banner on and presto!, the card is done. They are perfect for me because I have a whole drawer full of cards, but I always end up making a new one minutes before I need it.

Oh, wow! Those Concord and 9th stamps are very enticing!
However, I have been looking through my ginormous stamp collection, and until I have made wreaths with the stamps I've got, I am going to hold off on buying anything new. I definitely have some of the Peg stamps that were linked, only I took them off the "pegs" when I unmounted my rubber stamps a few years back. They will work fine in my stamp platform. I also have stamps from other companies that should work well, too. There is one SU set from long ago (1995) that seems to have been designed specifically for making your own wreaths and swags. I hope to make some wreath cards tonight with some of the more promising stamps I pulled out.

That is a pretty one, too, although it looks like it might be relatively easy to duplicate with stamps on hand and a stamp platform.

Ok, so not really... I just should've known better than to click on a C&9th link... lol.

After experimenting with the stamps in my stash, I am now seriously tempted to get the set by Concord & 9th. It would be so much faster and easier.
I used stamps that were similar to those in the Gina K sets. Some were like the peg stamps. I got a few decent results, but building a wreath with individual stamps takes a fair amount of time, even using the wreath builder. I had a couple of attempts that ended up total duds as I was practicing, too.

I know they're busy, so I just asked what the processing time was running right now. I really can wait, I just need to know how long I should expect to wait before I need to get worried, kwim? Anyway, their answer was basically, we have a lot of orders and we'll send you tracking when it ships. Google, however, has assumed my order is complete and wants to know how my shopping experience was. LOL.

ENABLERS!! I just ordered the wreath building set from Gina K along with other stuff! She has a beautiful Skeleton Leaves stamp set that is free if you order more than $75 (which isn't hard to do...)

I think you'll love that wreath builder set. I've already made a few wreath cards, and they were pretty easy to do. One tip: Make sure that your cardstock is realigned before every stamping. It makes a huge difference. Have fun!

In my experience with SSS, they don't necessarily tell you an item is BO'd, they just hold the entire order.

I did have other things in the order, but only things that showed as IN STOCK at the time I ordered them. It did occur to me earlier today that backorder might be the problem, because I remembered they are notorious for doing that, but that just irritated me more-- if that were the case, they should have just told me when I emailed and not used the Stamptember excuse I had already acknowledged when I sent the email. I did check last year's orders-- one shipped in 4 days, the other shipped in 11 days. Today marked 12 days, so I was going to give them until Sunday (two weeks total) to get it in the mail before I emailed again, but I finally got a shipping notice today. ( joblackford ) And it is actually the mail stream and not in "shipping label created" hell, so I guess I'm satisfied enough.
