Hey there peas! After the fun we had in September with msliz’s make a fall kit challenge inspired by this post, she and I have teamed up to bring you another kit challenge, but with a fun twist. This thread is to give you a heads up so you can gather your kit together before the first, and be ready to hit the ground scrapping! This kit game will work well with any kind of kit, whether it be scrapbooking, December daily, card-making, PL, traveler’s notebook, whatever. If you’d like to play along, go ahead and pull a kit together (any theme/colors) and wait for further instructions. I first heard of this game from watching videos by Nicole Mackin, so the idea belongs to her. Before you start pulling supplies, think about what your goal for this kit is. In terms of the actual game, the end goal is to kill the kit, so obviously a smaller kit would be easier to kill than a huge one. But what if you want to use your kit to make 50 Christmas cards? Or maybe you’re 3 months behind in project life and really want a kit of supplies to speed that process up? Make the size of your kit according to the number of projects you want to make with it!Here are a few basic recipes to get you started: linklinklinkBe sure to add plenty in the way of embellishments because that will come in handy when the game portion of the challenge comes into play. You can use any size papers you like, but full sheets work best for the game. Feel free to pull a paper pad or collection kit you’ve been wanting to use; you may want to limit the number of papers if using a paper pad. And a little heads up for team players, be sure to take photos of your kit!
If you have any questions, ask away! Have fun making a kit you'll love creating with in the month of October and stay tuned until the 1st when the challenge goes live and additional info will be available.

This sounds very intriguing. I can’t wait to see what you two have cooked up.

Sounds lie fun. I am NOT a kit person--much prefer to grab whatever from my entire stash--but I do plan to be creating Christmas cards for Card Tober this next month, so will put together a wee kit that will hopefully see me through 50 cards.
I want to be using some dies, stamps & inks, some mixed media, and dig deep into my huge stash of holiday goodies. I have one new collection, and it is plaids. So most things that go into my kit will be older product. Embellies, you say...

Hmmmmm, just thinking about how I can do this with digital supplies... It's possible. I use ACDSee but you could do the same in Bridge I expect. I go through some kits I have, pulling out what I like and will work together. Everything I choose goes into its own folder. This is what I did for the challenge this month; I put together this Halloween kit and made a preview as if it were a digital kit I purchased. You could easily take a screenshot of the supplies folder that you put together instead :

AussieMeg, you can use a premade digi kit or pull one from different pieces as JaneB did above. obviously you won't be actually using anything up, but with a few tweaks i think it will definitely be doable for you! grammadee your card kit will be perfect! especially with the addition of all the stamps, dies, etc. and if you choose, those can count as embellishments

I'm nervous! I think I have to make this a December Daily kit, but then I'm committed to it and I'm easily bored Could we make TWO smaller kits? Try to kill them both?

kitbop, whatever size kit works for you will work for the game. if you kill one kit and have half the month left, i'd say definitely make another! my kit is ginormous so i don't see that happening for me

I'll be making a couple of mini kits, and one of them will definitely be for winter. Don't make your kit too mini though. Like stinkerbelle suggested, build it big enough to suit the number of projects you intend to make with it.

Oh fun!! I’m not a kit person either, but I do sketch out and pre-plan my cards. So a Christmas card kit will be fun and doable. It will also help keep me on task

Love this! Kits are easy for me to pull together as this is how I store ALL my patterned paper and many of my embellishments. I just have to pull from my 'generic' embellishments to round out what I already have stored.

I'm pulling my first kit together tonight, so I wanted to bump this thread to reference. stinkerbelle, I'm sure I'm overthinking this, but I have a couple of silly questions for you. A. I'm assuming there's no need to include all the pens, paints, inks, etc that we all have in (over)abundance? Would that be correct? 2. How about scraps? Are we only counting full sheets of paper as officially being part of the kit? Thanks!

msliz no need to worry about inks or any of that stuff. full sheets work best, but i also threw in some 6x6 with my embellishments, so feel free to add scraps in that way
