After reading the other post about porch lights being on or off at night, I was thinking....I don't leave porch lights on but I do leave my light above my oven on all night...wonder if I'm the only one that does that lol. So, do you leave lights on inside your home at night? I like to be able to see if I have to get up out of a sound sleep so I don't feel so disoriented. ETA: The light I leave on is the ceiling light above the stove, not the appliance lights because (as it has been stated) those things are EXPENSIVE to replace!

I'll play since I started the porch light thread.
Sometimes I do, depending on who is coming in and out of the house. BUT IKEA has this little round 'nightlight' that I found pretty cheap and instead of the oven light, I used the IKEA light and just left it on all the time.. UNTIL 3 days ago when I dropped it. Back to the oven light when needed.

Only if I head to bed before someone else gets home. If I’m the last person to head up, I turn off every light.

I don't. When I moved in to my house by myself after my divorce a few years ago, I left a nightlight on in the bathroom. But I've gotten so comfortable in my home that I don't leave any lights on anywhere in the house.
I have a city light pole in my backyard and those of us who do can pay $5/month to have it on. Honestly I think that light seeps in through my blinds just a touch. So my room and the back of the house aren't pitch black. But plenty dark for me.

I don't leave any lights on at all. I do have several LED nightlights in some of the outlets, so if I have to get up I can see.

If DH is working late, I usually leave the outdoor garage lights on. Otherwise, only the oven light stays on.

We leave the downstairs lamp light on in the living room.

I have a nightlight that I turn on in the kitchen every night. My kids work jobs that get them home late so it's nice for them to be greeted by a little light. Both the bathrooms have light sensor nightlights which actually light up quite a bit. Obviously everyone knows where everything is but if you weren't feeling good it's nice not to turn on the bright overhead light. I use to leave the living room light on but my DD is one of those who doesn't think about turning off lights as she goes to bed so she can use her phone flashlight if she wants light going upstairs.

Yes. Oven light and a normal light in the family room is left on. Our Lab has become afraid of the dark in her old age. Those lights help keep her calm at night.
Before that, only the light in the ice maker on the fridge and a few nightlights were used.

We leave one smaller kitchen light on. We have night lights in the bathrooms.

Yes to porch light. And in the winter(don't need it here in the summer) we leave the light on over the sink. We also have night lights that shine on the stairs.

No lights on or nightlights at our house. The kitchen light above the oven is on all evening and the last one turned off before I go to bed. Most of the time I go upstairs in the dark rather than turn on the hall light. If anyone if still out when I go to bed, I leave the foyer light on.

Just one nightlight in the kitchen because I sometimes get up in the middle of the night to get water and it’s softer on the eyes than the overhead kitchen light.

No lights on here. Dh turns them all of when he leaves at 11:30pm. When the kids were small we had a bathroom nightlight but it burn out and we haven't replaced it.

I don’t because I have so many lights on outside, the lights shine through the windows. Works perfectly for us! 😃

We have strategically placed night lights so that if one of us ~ or guests ~ gets up in the middle of the night there is a very soft glow leading to the bathroom. We have no street lights so it gets pretty dark in our house. I bought them after DH ran into our new dresser when we first moved in.

We leave the can lights in the kitchen on always, also all the basement lights and the inside garage lights.

I do not but DH does. We live in the city so there is plenty of outside light that illuminates my house at night, I wish it were darker. I don't know why DH feels the need to leave a lamp on but he does. I can see fine without it, he says he cannot.

We have a lamp post in our yard that's on at night. Everyone in our sub has them.
Inside we have three nightlights that come on at night. One is in the kitchen, one between the living room and dining room and one in the upstairs hall. Basically just enough so if we get up in the night we can get around. Especially to light up the stairs, though I don't think it's bright enough and would like something brighter.

Just a couple LED nightlights. We have overnight guests pretty often, so I like them to be able to see enough in the dark. Plus DH gets up at 4am, and doesn't like to turn on the bright lights. The nightlights are just enough.

I leave the light on over the stove and I have nightlights in the hallways and bathrooms that come on when it gets dark. I don't like leaving a lamp or any other light on though.

I leave a lamp on in the living room downstairs. I'm surprised the amount of people leave their stove light on. I HATE changing those specialty bulbs.

My husband is like the OP. He likes to leave a small light on in the kitchen at night.

No, never. The last person up turns off all lights. It's not economics, just that lights on at night disturbs my sleep. We have lights attached to our headboard so if light is needed its easily accessed.

We have the Ikea nightlights in both bathrooms and the downstairs halfway, which provides illumination to go up and down the stairs.

I'm in a studio with a sliding door entry(one door only). I leave the porch light on. I pull the blind down at night so no one can see in. When the porch light is on, I can see a silhouette if someone were at the door. If the light were off I wouldn't see anything but darkness.
