I watched it in real time as it happened, and the intern clearly reached around and IN toward him, in his personal space, to grab the mic out of his hand. His hand brushed her arm because she was reaching around the front of him as he was speaking and turning his body away from her. To say anything other than what actually happened is complete ridiculousness.
I think the members of the press really need to stand together in solidarity and call this kind of stuff out for the bullsh!t and lies it actually is, once and for all, and KEEP doing it every time he or anyone in his administration lies. Trump was absolutely insufferable and downright rude during that press conference. I couldn’t even watch the whole thing, it was a train wreck and a dumpster fire all rolled into one heaping, steaming load of crap.

Questions I want to see posed directly to SHS.
"Where did you obtain your copy of this video?"
"Why did you use that clip instead of one from an official source?"
"Have you found them to be a reliable/trusted source in the past?"
If she says anything about not being certain or not remembering, follow up questions about using known, valid, trusted sources are important.
"Did you suspect that it was doctored?"
"Once you became aware that the video was doctored why wasn't it immediately deleted and a statement issued?"
"What procedures are being put into place to stop this from happening in the future?"
This is not even addressing the BS Acosta accusations.
Questions for those that frequently watch these briefings.
1) Where does Acosta usually sit?
2) Who is usually the aid that handles the microphone? Same person, different people? Male, female?
3) Have they ever attempted to take the microphone before? In any administration? Under what circumstances?

God dammit I’m sick of the fucking lies manufactured by this administration. THEY HAVE GOT TO GO.

Another article about the 700 unused machines in Georgia. The excuse used, sorry...reason given, is an ongoing federal case about using paper ballots due to hacking concerns, info on that case is linked in the above articles. But that doesn't make sense to me. First, a judge already ruled on that case, that for this election electronic machines that didn't provide paper backup could be used as it was too late for major changes and the issues caused would negatively affect voter experiences and turnout. I agree with her. Secondly, obviously machines were used in this election. So what is the benefit of not using the 700 additional machines they had at their disposal? Besides the obvious, as this decision had a negative impact on urban areas as long lines could have been reduced...and we know who that benefits. I'd definitely be interested in learning who made the decision not to use them. I've read a few local articles on this but perhaps there are others that provide more information that provide a valid reason.

Kemp resigning as Georgia Secretary of State BY AVERY ANAPOL - 11/08/18 10:11 AM EST GOP Georgia gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp is stepping down from his post as Georgia Secretary of State, the Associated Press reported Thursday.
Kemp is locked in a close race with Democrat Stacey Abrams in a race that national outlets have not yet called. .The Kemp campaign declared victory Wednesday, but Abrams has refused to concede and vowed to push for a recount, citing votes that have yet to be counted.
Kemp faced repeated calls and legal challenges urging him to resign his post or recuse himself from any matters related to the election in which he is a candidate.
His resignation is effective Thursday night, according to the AP.https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/415695-kemp-resigning-as-georgia-secretary-of-state

papercrafteradvocate I agree that she won't provide real answers, but that doesn't make it any less important that the questions are asked. We need to do what we can to at least try and hold them accountable. Provide pushback instead of just taking it sitting down.

What we’re witnessing is that NO ONE holds him/the WH accountable for their blatant lies. The press repeats his/their lies. Congress does nothing. Sane Americans ARE pushing back —but good gravy we cannot do this every flipping day!!! We cannot wait for 2020 to fix all this! I swear to God there must be some sort of fucked up alternate USA they’re living in.

Do you know why this all scares me so much? Because Trumps misbehavior, the lies, the anger, the taunting of the media, it all sets a precedent.
Sure, Trump might be out of office in 2020, or at latest 2024, but there will be another president after him. And after 4 or 8 years where out and put lying from the WH are the day to day norm, whose to say the American people won't grow numb to it? Won't grow used to it? Worn down, and just learn to accept it?
The teens and very young adults now might grow up thinking this is just the way government works.
Whose to say Trump won't hire his own family/ croney to mass produce the school history textbooks?
I'm worried that this shambles of a presidency will become the norm. And who has been the loudest voice to call out the President and those covering for him?
The press.
Those Trump has deemed the enemy of the state.
Those who he has not taken action to protect after bombs were sent to them from a supporter of his.
Those that he is now banning from the WH, and having his staff distribute doctored video to incriminate falsely.
He is sending a message. Go against him, and you're next.
I don't want this to be what an American presidency looks like from now on.

When you hear any of the news stories, just replace 'USA' or 'America' with the name of any other authoritarian country... protests, riots, people getting killed, voter suppression, politically motivated crimes and shootings, etc. etc. etc. These stories sound like they could be about ANY banana republic country in South America, the Middle East, or anywhere else, NOT in the United States. THAT is what scares me-- our country is turning into a country we would have held ours 'above' in the past, as an example of how to be BETTER; an example of what to ASPIRE to in terms of our government and society. We're going SO far backwards, so very quickly. To heck with 'be best' Melania; I'd be happy if we could just 'be the USA' again.

I just highlight the part of the text I want to make bold, go to the little menu at the top of the create post box where it says font face, font size, etc. and click on the box with the dark bold letter B. It changes everything you highlighted to bold. You can also do italic, underscore and strike through this way!

We're going SO far backwards, so very quickly. To heck with 'be best' Melania; I'd be happy if we could just 'be the USA' again. You know, I’ve seen first-hand what that’s like. Back in the ‘70s as a young woman, I got stranded in the Philippines at about the time Marcos was mobilizing his power. There’d already been many arrests of dissidents who were taken to camps for “labor” (read: torture) and many, many more who just disappeared or were murdered outright, demonstrators being shot practically everyday, molotov bombs going off in major streets, and many privately-owned businesses being seized by the gov’t. It was pandemonium. I went to bed one night and woke up the following morning to martial law. All flights cancelled; curfew mandated for the entire population; writ of habeas corpus suspended; military vehicles all over the place; all civil rights suspended; all press, TV and radio stations shut down except for one propaganda channel that played a continuous loop of Marcos’ speech all day; phone lines dead in some parts. During the day, people managed to go about their daily lives though impeded, but by nightfall all streets and businesses were dark and deserted. It was surreal. I was stranded for quite a while and even managed to get sent to Camp Crame in Manila for joining a very minor and peaceful protest (long story). It was only by luck that my uncle who was stationed at US Subic Naval Base, was able to travel to Manila and bribe somebody to release me. I recall thinking I’ll be back in the US, I’m a US citizen, I have nothing to fear, yet though I don’t scare easily, this experience terrified me. The possibility of rape alone kept me awake at nights. That was 1972 and in short order, Marcos became president for life until his ousting in 1986. Here’s my point: If we don’t pay attention and fight back through our representatives and senators, and as a citizenry, we will pay a heavy price. As to how heavy that price will be, I cannot possibly predict. All I am convinced of is that democracy doesn’t take care of itself. As hard-fought as it is to achieve it, it can disappear in the blink of an eye. Ask anyone whose country has devolved into madness and they’ll probably tell you the same thing. That’s how fragile democracy is.

Thank you for sharing with us. How frightening and I'm so glad you are here to tell us about it. Thanks and I’m grateful everyday. This experience is one of the reasons I like participating in the political threads on this board. I love the passion, the desire to do what’s right and to push back against what’s wrong. I know it’s only a tiny part of the online world, but it’s the political consciousness of so many here that inspires hope, engagement and action.

Collateral damage so a minority of population can sate their gun lust. "Thoughts and prayers". That is all they have.

“Christine Blasey Ford is still being harassed, her lawyers say. She has had to move 4 times, she wrote last month. She has had to pay for private security detail. She hasn't been able to return to her job as a professor at Palo Alto Uni., NPR reports.”
Well to those men who can’t keep their hands where they belong and fear someone will come forward and tell what they did, you don’t need to worry anymore. An old white guy, who is president , and a bunch old white guys sitting on the a Judiciary Committee, showed loud and very clear what will happen to any woman who comes forward to tell what happened.
