Do you know why this all scares me so much? Because Trumps misbehavior, the lies, the anger, the taunting of the media, it all sets a precedent. Sure, Trump might be out of office in 2020, or at latest 2024, but there will be another president after him. And after 4 or 8 years where out and put lying from the WH are the day to day norm, whose to say the American people won't grow numb to it? Won't grow used to it? Worn down, and just learn to accept it? The teens and very young adults now might grow up thinking this is just the way government works. Whose to say Trump won't hire his own family/ croney to mass produce the school history textbooks? I'm worried that this shambles of a presidency will become the norm. And who has been the loudest voice to call out the President and those covering for him? The press. Those Trump has deemed the enemy of the state. Those who he has not taken action to protect after bombs were sent to them from a supporter of his. Those that he is now banning from the WH, and having his staff distribute doctored video to incriminate falsely. He is sending a message. Go against him, and you're next. I don't want this to be what an American presidency looks like from now on. Well, a section of Americans accepts, even celebrates the lying, the division, the shit show, apparently more than just a few approve of it.

papercrafteradvocate I agree that she won't provide real answers, but that doesn't make it any less important that the questions are asked. We need to do what we can to at least try and hold them accountable. Provide pushback instead of just taking it sitting down. Yes, this. The press needs to push back HARD for what this administration is doing to them and saying about them. This has to stop. Yes! The press needs to keep at it. What this administration is doing is wrong. I hope they keep fighting. To me, it clearly seems like he was set up. Trump hates him because 1) he asks tough questions and doesn't back down and 2) he is Hispanic.

What scares me is what Trump is doing to the thought processes of people like me. When I heard about Ruth Bader Ginsburg being hospitalized today my first thought was how do we protect her from Trump, Putin, and the rest of their mobsters murdering her in hospital and using 'complications from her injury' to cover it up.
I shouldn't have to worry that the President of the United States is going to put a hit on a SupremevCourt judge.

What happened to the caravan of thugs that were going to overtake the border and give us all small pox? The president and Fox News have gone silent. Figures!

I had to wonder if her fall was indeed an accident. Hey, you never know, esp with a criminal running the Country!

I read a couple of articles about this, including this one from the AP and I'm a bit confused. They want to change the way mail in ballots are processed mid-count? To what end? Is it simply a matter of saying the signature confirmation process is taking too long so they want to disregard those votes that aren't processed yet due this...and thereby likely not counting a lot of Democrat votes from highly populated urban areas? On what grounds? Ignoring ethical concerns, I get why they'd want to do that. I'm just not understanding how they're able to request that with a strait face so assume there is something I'm missing. I don't entirely understand the signature verification process, or follow-up so that may be part of it. If there's a problem with it, it needs to continue to be addressed between elections, not during them. I felt the same way about about the electoral college and Trump.

It’s the verification after election day the GOP is fighting. Mail-in ballots have to be signed and if signatures don’t match with BoE records, the envelopes are not opened until the voter is phoned to verify he/she was the one who actually voted. The GOP is saying that in these three counties, voters were still being called for verification after election day and that their state law mandates verification should end on election day. (I don’t know if it does or doesn’t; I didn’t check.) Obviously, if it wasn't such a tight race they wouldn't make a fuss.

Bette Midler...
“Jobs, jobs jobs! DEMOCRATS!! “Rebuild the education system so that EVERYBODY doesn’t HAVE to go to college, and can build a good life without it.” APPRENTICESHIPS!! Come on! They still work in Europe! BTW, I didn’t go and I did just fine.”
I agree with her. This along with healthcare should be what the Democrats talk about.

ABC News..
“Responding to Michelle Obama memoir, in which she writes that she'll "never forgive" Donald Trump for his birther comments, Pres. Trump says he'll never forgive Barack Obama "for what he did to our United States military by not funding it properly." abcn.ws/2QvZ1qx”
You mean more funding to waste by sending troops to our southern border to twiddle their thumbs?
What a first class jerk.

I’m not sure who Kira is, but I think she is right and a good question to ask..
“A sherrif died. An expert in weapons and crisis management. A person who’s entire training is how to react in a situation like this. He was killed. Now please, tell me how a “good guy with a gun” would’ve stopped anything.”

Ari Berman...
“Rick Scott sending law enforcement to monitor ballot count
Brian Kemp falsely accusing Stacey Abrams of trying to steal election after he rigged rules
AZ GOP sues to stop mail-in ballots
Republicans are terrified of fair elections”
I think he’s right.

So the complaint is that it's taking too long, pushing it past Election Day. From what I understand there was an unprecedented number of votes for a midterm, but we expected that. So they are suggesting the as of yet unprocessed votes just shouldn't count? Ridiculous. I can see wanting everything done by Election Day. So, move the deadline to postmark votes up for future elections. Arrange for more people to process the votes/verify the signaturs/make the calls. But you can't tell people who followed the rules that their vote won't count because the government was not adequately prepared to process it. And you can bet that if these votes were from rural areas they'd be fighting tooth and nail for them to be verified and counted to protect their constituents' right to have their voice heard and vote counted.
