He looks like he just got a boner at the right of putin. Can we fucking NOT with the gay jokes here? Just totally not okay. I hate Trump, and obvs Putin is trash, but the joking about them being lovers and making fun of them for being "gay" or something is just not okay. There's plenty of other material here to work with. Just don't. I wasn’t making a gay joke. Not. One. Fucking. Bit. No where did I say they were lovers or was I making fun of being gay. I wasn’t insinuating it either. The vernacular is that he was excited for something he likes a lot, makes him happy. Guys here joke about getting a “boner” for awesome cars, guns, or some other thing (inanimate or human) that really makes them drool, happy. I don’t EVER make gay jokes. So please, don’t ever put words in my mouth, thank you.

I don’t know how it was meant, but saying that someone gets a boner isn’t always a gay slur. I know a lot of dudes who say they get “justice boners” when something comes out of the mueller investigation. And my hockey friends always used the phrase “Doaner boner” when Shane Dian did something. It’s also pretty common to see comments like “stop, I can only get so erect” on forums. Generally, it’s used to show excitement about something, not meant as a slur in any way. Like I said, I don’t know the motivation behind the use here but I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt. THANK YOU!!!! I would never, ever, ever, ever use a gay slur. NEVER. I did not mean it in that context at all.

What did the next comment, "Meet me out back" mean, then? That quote had nothing to do with the first one. My boner comment was regarding trumps smiling. My meet me out back was based on Putin’s expression and was intended as having Secret conversations as they have before where no one knew what transpired.

I hear that all the time as well, use it myself sometimes as I can be classy like that. It was the added 'meet you out back' that made me wonder, which is why I asked. Thank you. I never ever ever meant it as a gay slur. I would never do that.

Yes, you attributed your interpretations as if I was saying what you thought. I did not say that, I never insinuated what you typed out, and I would never ever ever ever make any gay slurs.

And, I really hate when people use being gay as a punchline. Yes, I agree with that, but I don't think that's the context here. In nicer language if these were two decent men who really liked it each other, we could call it a "bromance" like Obama & Pence, they clearly became good friends and and in many photos they were touching and laughing together and there were all sorts of "break-up" memes when their terms ended. It was all in good fun and I'd bet even the two of them laughed at some of it...but no-one was actually suggesting a sexual relationship. The Trump/Putin thing is the same, we make jokes about their friendship but in this instance they are negative because they are both evil bastards...but again, no-one really thinks or is suggesting they are gay or there there is a sexual element. We joke about their "relationship" because we think they are both unlikeable, selfish, greedy & only value power and money. That's why Trump "gets a boner" because he sees his "true friend who has the same evil goals and that makes him happy" and "out the back" infers so they can get together and plot their world domination. It's sarcasm and "joking" because we see the two as equally bad and that's why they are so happy to see each other, but I very much doubt that anyone really equates that with any sort of homosexuality. THANK YOU.

I guess I've seen enough jokes out there about a gay relationship between Trump and Putin to have made that connection between those two comments. And, I really hate when people use being gay as a punchline. I fucking hate when people put words in my mouth or attribute their own words to me when I never said it or insinuated it. I would NEVER EVER EVER MAKE GAY SLURS. One of my best friends is gay. One of my siblings children is gay. I work daily within our gay community here. Out of my circle of closest friends, 75% of them are gay. I am an ally.

I understand that maybe you meant a bromance, but the boner with the out back meeting felt gross to me. More than one person sort of questioned your intent with those comments, so I’m sorry that you’re upset, but maybe find a better joke next time that can’t be easily misinterpreted. Thank you for clarifying that you didn’t mean it in the way I interpreted your joke.

And while I’ll be more careful in my joking, I would suggest that you might ask about someone’s intent before going off the rails making accusations/putting words in their mouth! Thanks!

I’m sensitive to the issue, too. I won’t list off all the people in my life who may have looked askance at your comments. I’d ask you to consider that sometimes impact is more important than intent. This goes for all kinds of jokes. I’ve been guilty, too, of not considering the impact of my well-intended words. Thank you for considering.

Trump has spoken himself that he feels "real love" for Putin..whatever that means.
But the boner reference never even crossed my radar as a gay slur.
My DH always uses boner for things that make him happy...
" omg, we are going to the poutinery tonight? Huge boner time!" 🤣🤣

I think it was that with the “meet me out back” that really bothered me. She’s clarified that she didn’t mean it in that way It didn't even cross my mind that it could have a sexual innuendo. The only thing I thought was to get away from everyone else and talk in private (like they did the last time) to make some more shonky deals. Trump doesn't want anyone to know what he & Putin discuss so a joke about "meet me out the back" would be about trading secrets/drug deals/bribery/bitch about everyone else there etc. They are both heterosexual, so making the assumption that anyone meant (even in a joke) they would be meeting for a sexual encounter is just bizarre.

It’s actually not bizarre to have made the interpretation, as these kinds of jokes have been made consistently all over the media/Twitter/Internet for some time now, including in the New York Times. I thought this was another instance of one of those kinds of innuendos. I was wrong, but it’s not a bizarre interpretation. I’m not crazy to have questioned the comments.

I wouldn’t have responded so strongly if you HAD questioned me about it, but you didn’t—you hit full throttle from the get go that I was using a gay slur and meaning. It’s all good now that you see it was not in any way. 😉

Just a boner comment or a "meet me out back" separately and I wouldn't have given it a second glance, especially from someone I haven't seen make those kind of comments. But one immediately following the other struck me as off. Thanks for clarifying papercrafteradvocate!

Cruz said today on face the nation that he supports it and they are needed due to the 10,000 people that are going to cross our border. Guess he hasn’t heard the news that the numbers have dwindled in the caravan. Your fellow Texans obviously approve, they re-elected him.

NOT that he can accomplish this, but still the idea of it is sick! Although if there is more needed, he can refuse to sign for it. Trump wants to end federal relief money for Puerto Rico: report BY EMILY BIRNBAUM - 11/11/18 08:30 PM EST President Trump reportedly wants to end federal relief money for Puerto Rico to aid its recovery from Hurricane Maria, the worst natural disaster on record to affect the island. Axios reported on Sunday that Trump has told GOP leaders and appropriators he does not want to provide more disaster relief funds to Puerto Rico, claiming without evidence that the money is being misused and mismanaged. Trump also said he wants to roll back some of the funding Congress has already set aside for Hurricane Maria relief, which he cannot do.The White House declined to comment for the Axios report and did not immediately respond to The Hill. The president's reluctance to provide funding stems in part from a misreading of a Wall Street Journal article, Axios reported. The Journal article from October reportedly led him to believe the Puerto Rican government has been using disaster relief money to pay off its debt, though that is not the conclusion of the piece. ** thehill.com/homenews/administration/416168-trump-wants-to-end-federal-relief-money-for-puerto-rico-report

Sad news from the California fires. 228 people missing after Northern California wildfires: authorities BY EMILY BIRNBAUM - 11/11/18 09:58 PM EST Authorities on Sunday said 228 people are unaccounted for in Northern California following a devastating wildfire, raising the number of missing people by more than 100 since Saturday. The wildfire, dubbed "Camp Fire," began Thursday and had officially killed 29 people by Sunday, with that number expected to rise, Butte County Sheriff Cory Honea said at a press conference. "[There are] 228 individuals who have been determined to be unaccounted for," Honea said at the briefing. "As of this briefing, my office has located 107 people after receiving [around] 550 calls from people looking for loved ones." He said officials are still "in the process of investigating those calls to determine if those individuals are in fact unaccounted for or perhaps haven’t yet checked in with a family member." Honea reminded attendees that the numbers are "dynamic" and subject to change. ** thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/416170-228-people-missing-after-northern-california-wildfires
