the farmer who leases our land, for the first time ever, was late in paying his rent. I'm sure he's a republican that is hard pressed to admit mistake in election, but I think he will. Even if just to himself. I can understand people who may regret their votes and not admit they may have made a mistake because, really, who wants to do that? Btw, you're in Wisconsin, right? Papadopoulos began serving his 14-day sentence at Oxford. I saw a picture of the federal prison camp there. It really looks just like a sprawling club with trees all around. I don't know why he wanted to delay his term because this place almost looks like a retreat. Is it that nice in real life?Wisconsin is. (I reserve the right to complain in winter and extreme heat). Oxford? I've never been and don't want to for obvious reasons. I believe Dan Rostenkowski (Chair House Ways and Means) spent his time there too. So , yeah, it's probably posh as prisons go. Rostenkowski had a house on a small local lake here and he was "something". Wanted to add sand to the bottom of the lake in front of his home and DNR did not allow putting sand directly in the lake. I think you could add it to the shore and hope it washed out for a sandy bottom. So he found a loop hole and tried to hire someone I know to put it on top of the ice in the winter and let it fall down as ice melted. They refused. Don't know if he found someone to do it but I bet he did. Rules didn't apply to him sort of guy. Well that was a sidetrack...

It's very upsetting to hear that farmers are hurting so much due to Trump among other reasons. This further takes us from family farms to corporate farms that may care more about profits than quality and safety of our food. Furthermore, it gives those corporate farms the potential for bigger profits when the food supply goes down. Yes, I did not save the article but it was about food shortages that will impact to low/moderate income people far more than others. Not so far into the future either... This might just be the stepping stone for us old folks.... No food, no medicine etc......... Rostenkowski had a house on a small local lake here and he was "something". This why I signed back in just a bit ago, but got distracted by the business... Democrat TJ Cox pulls ahead of Republican David Valadao in House raceBy Jennifer Agiesta and Kate Sullivan, CNN Updated 11:12 PM ET, Mon November 26, 2018 Washington (CNN)Democrat TJ Cox on Monday night pulled ahead of Republican Rep. David Valadao in the race to represent California's 21st Congressional District. According to the California Secretary of State's Office, Cox now leads by fewer than 400 votes. According to the website, Cox has received 55,672 votes to Valadao's 55,236 votes. CNN had previously projected the race for Valadao, as had other national news outlets. Vote reports after Election Night tightened the margin significantly, and the latest update from Kern County put Cox in the lead by just over 400 votes. CNN has now withdrawn its projection in the race. Democrats have picked up a net gain of 38 seats, and will hold 233 seats in the House of Representatives, according to CNN's projections. Two races remain uncalled -- CA-21 and New Mexico's 2nd Congressional District. The Democratic candidate leads in both races. Democrat Xochitl Torres Small is ahead of Republican Yvette Herrell in NM-2. Both districts are Republican-held seats.Republicans will hold 200 seats in the House, according to CNN's projections. www.cnn.com/2018/11/26/politics/democrat-california-house-race/index.html

He hosted a golf tournament 'round here called the Goat Walk (or similar). Somehow, some way he saw and met my pet goat. He asked (actually more so told- hey, bring the goat here for me) my XDH if she could come to the course as a prop of sorts- cuz "goat walk". I didn't let it happen because she was a beloved pet, smart and gentle and I got the feeling she would be just that. A prop. and not be treated any better than any other prop to fill his selfish needs. I miss that goat.

I’m a big supporter of family farms, having grown up among them. But Trump being a shallow, lying con man has been evident for a good 2-3 decades. He had NO policies/platform before the election except lock her up- I’m not Hillary. If anyone had bothered to go to read Hillary’s policies/platform she had semi detailed ideas about retraining workers from dying industries and support of rural areas. The man is destroying the fabric of our society bit by bit in favor of huge conglomerates. From family farms to Main Street his policies are devastating. People just refuse to see it. They’d rather loose everything as some sort of ‘nationalist martyr’ or at least the few people I know who are die hard Trump supporters on the verge of loosing everything. When he’s done in 2or6 years how many of these martyrs will become home grown terrorists? That’s what happens when entitled people have nothing left to loose and no connection with reality.

Once all these family farmers go bankrupt, big business farms will swoop in, take up the land at pennies on the dollar, and rape the lands for profits based on how trump & co want to use the lands—pipelines, coal, destruction of forestry, no choice food, (non organic, etc), Monsanto will take over—big plants that only enrich the corporations...

I read somewhere this morning that the Mueller Investigation charge that Manafort has been lying, will now allow the Investigation to be made public. That means the Investigation can no longer be only revealed to some, and that trump w ill now be in greater jeopardy.
one can hope that all will be revealed and that tiny twitter hands will go off the rails.

From AOL... I especially liked his insight that they "better put something else" and to "get a car that is selling well." Yeah. WASHINGTON, Nov 26 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump told the Wall Street Journal on Monday that General Motors Co should stop making cars in China and make them in the United States instead. GM said on Monday it would cut thousands from its North American workforce, slash production and eliminate some slow-selling car models. Trump told reporters he was not happy with GM's decision to idle a plant in Lordstown, Ohio and that GM had "better put something else" in Ohio.He said he told GM Chief Executive Mary Barra he was unhappy with the announcement. She told him the decision to halt sales of the Chevrolet Cruze had "nothing to do with tariffs" but was because of poor sales. "Get a car that is selling well and put it back in," Trump said. Why is he only focusing on GM in Ohio? What about the other states that have plants closing?

I don’t think it even matters at this point anymore if he talks about Ohio or if talks about all the other states. Everything I’ve read thus far indicates that GM will close all these plants regardless of the pressure they’re getting from both Dems and Repubs. Congressman Tim Ryan said that he and Sherrod Brown wrote letters to Trump asking him to act on his promises way before this happened. Ryan said he warned Trump that rolling back fuel-efficiency standards would hurt the auto industry. Crickets. And one after another, shifts were eliminated. Ryan said Trump did not lift a finger. They never received replies or help from Trump. Once again, he’d rather tweet than do actual work. Now it’s too late.

Isn’t Mueller a Republican? ( or was )
And isn’t he generally considered by both parties to be non Partisian doing his job? Or at least that what I’ve read his reputation was.
Aren’t the president’s tweets defamation of character if there is no proof?

From Politico...
”The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), said on Monday that it was “awfully tough” for government officials such as Ivanka Trump to comply with agency standards for secure communications when sending emails.
“When things like this come up, it’s important people understand, they need to make sure they’re doing what they can,” Goodlatte said during an interview on CNN.”
“And it’s awfully tough, as everyone knows, when you’re sending emails about a lot of different things to make sure that you’re doing it according to the rules in the White House or wherever you’re doing it,” he added.”
Well in trying to provide cover for Ivanka this jackass just insulted her by implying she isn’t smart enough to understand, after her father ran his campaign about this, that she shouldn’t Use her own email for White House business.

It's not "awfully tough" at all. I have a work e-mail address and a home e-mail address. When I am at work and send anything work related, I use my work e-mail address. It's not rocket science!!

This could explain why Manafort supposedly worked for the trump campaign for free. Maybe trump did collude with a foreign power. All along I thought they would get him for money laundering for Russian Oligarchs. The Guardian.. “ Manafort held secret talks with Assange in Ecuadorian embassy, sources say”
From the article... “Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort held secret talks with Julian Assange inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London, and visited around the time he joined Trump’s campaign, the Guardian has been told. Sources have said Manafort went to see Assange in 2013, 2015 and in spring 2016 – during the period when he was made a key figure in Trump’s push for the White House. It is unclear why Manafort would have wanted to see Assange and what was discussed. But the last apparent meeting is likely to come under scrutiny and could interest Robert Mueller, the special prosecutor who is investigating alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. A well-placed source has told the Guardian that Manafort went to see Assange around March 2016. Months later WikiLeaks released a stash of Democratic emails stolen by Russian intelligence officers. Manafort, 69, denies involvement in the hack and says the claim is “100% false”. His lawyers declined to answer the Guardian’s questions about the visits. In a series of tweets WikiLeaks said Assange and Manafort had not met. Assange described the story as a hoax. Manafort was jailed this year and was thought to have become a star cooperator in the Mueller inquiry. But on Monday Mueller said Manafort had repeatedly lied to the FBI, despite agreeing to cooperate two months ago in a plea deal. According to a court document, Manafort had committed “crimes and lies” on a “variety of subject matters”. His defence team says he believes what he has told Mueller to be truthful and has not violated his deal. Manafort’s first visit to the embassy took place a year after Assange sought asylum inside, two sources said. A separate internal document written by Ecuador’s Senain intelligence agency and seen by the Guardian lists “Paul Manaford [sic]” as one of several well-known guests. It also mentions “Russians”. According to the sources, Manafort returned to the embassy in 2015. He paid another visit in spring 2016, turning up alone, around the time Trump named him as his convention manager. The visit is tentatively dated to March. Manafort’s 2016 visit to Assange lasted about 40 minutes, one source said, adding that the American was casually dressed when he exited the embassy, wearing sandy-coloured chinos, a cardigan and a light-coloured shirt. Visitors normally register with embassy security guards and show their passports. Sources in Ecuador, however, say Manafort was not logged. Embassy staff were aware only later of the potential significance of Manafort’s visit and his political role with Trump, it is understood. The revelation could shed new light on the sequence of events in the run-up to summer 2016, when WikiLeaks published tens of thousands of emails hacked by the GRU, Russia’s military intelligence agency. Hillary Clinton has said the hack contributed to her defeat.”

I've thought about the Manafort thing a bit and all I can say is that these men are not very smart. Or at least, they aren't very smart when it comes to outwitting the special prosecutor.
At this point, Manafort is looking at serious time behind bars. He gave up his plea agreement when he lied to the investigation. But looking at his plea agreement, it included a list of crimes that he was pleading guilty to - and now he can be sentenced for those crimes as well. It also listed his property that would be seized by the government if he broke the agreement. So now all the stuff that he was being allowed to keep...well, that's going to be forfeit as well. So his wife is pretty much screwed as well.
Of course, he might be counting on a pardon from Trump. Except accepting the pardon would mean admitting guilt - and it would take away his right to not testify. So a pardon from Trump = Mueller being compelled to spill the beans on Trump. Maybe he would, maybe he simply wouldn't recall anything. But is Trump going to risk that? And Manafort won't want to testify anyway, since there are other scarier dudes out there who wouldn't want him to talk.
What about the 10 days thing, where Mueller asked for a delay in the update because "we'll know more by the 26th." During the 10 days, Trump answered Mueller's questions. One of two things happened - either Trump told the truth or lied, and the truth or lies didn't match what Manafort said - OR he lied and the lies match exactly what Manafort said. Except Mueller knows the truth, and if they are both lying with the same lies - that means they are conspiring in the cover up, even now.
And Whittaker - what if Mueller releases a report but the AG chooses not to share it with the public? Well, all of these charges are going to be revealed in the filings with Manafort's sentencing.
All of those who thought Trump was playing 4D-chess or whatever - nope, you were playing checkers the whole time against an actual grand master. Mueller knows what he's doing, and he's dealt with MUCH smarter and more competent criminals than this.

Because he stopped in Ohio to stump for the republicans and it was all about saving the jobs--republicans were all for keeping jobs, republicans know best for Ohio jobs....yep. vote for the republicans because we can save you. Didn't take but a few weeks for them to uncover their lies. GM knew at the election that they were closing. But yet, the republicans campaigned on it, getting a bunch of empty promises out there.

And then there is this from Paul Ryan...
Speaking Sunday on NBC’s Meet the Press, Ryan pointed to last year’s tax reform and as proof of his achievement, adding that getting Americans off of welfare and back to work will be a continued focus of his colleagues in the Republican party:
"We have done what needs to be done to get a stronger, more durable foundation under the economy," the speaker said, adding that he's "excited" about the GOP's agenda, which will "focus on career and technical education."
"We're going to focus on getting people from welfare into jobs. And we can do this when we had a strong growing economy. And that's a darn good legacy," Ryan said.“
