Well I managed to get the 45 point challenge done and it was easier than I expected. I sat and went through the list of challenges and wrote out the ones I thought I could do, then I did them! There's a lot of ones that you have to cover at the start of a LO, like photo requrements or patterned paper requirements. So once you have some of them done, then there's all the ones that you can add. Like silver, gold, sequins, puffy stickers, the list goes on and there's a lot! So it's easier to achieve than you think. Well, I did have 4 of the 5 point bonuses as well so that was 20 points. I will definitely be trying again to see if I can beat my 54 total Another grey old day here, I think we're in the clouds actually. Can never tell if we're in the clouds or fog until it lifts. One year we spent 3 weeks in thick fog, so thick we could barely see the houses over the road! It was a bit spooky after a while!

I am going to give that challenge a shot! I'll have to pull out everything I need and just pile it on. Fingers crossed it looks half way decent. kiwigirl your page came out great!

I'm going to have to look carefully at challenges that offer bonus points because I just completed a layout that I thought would get close to 40 points, and instead it's only 26 points. I too want to make a run at that challenge

You can do it girls! I got 20 bonus points on mine, the Nuvo multicolour border for 5, SNOW for 5, 6 different patterned papers for 5 and 5 for the 4 different shapes. There's also 5 available for the mixed alphabets so you could get 25. Then there's lots of things you can add easily for points like sequins, arrows, silver, gold, metal etc I have been struggling to get dies to cut. It's so frustrating! I had a Cuttlebug for years but it stopped cutting. So I thought about it and decided to buy an old red Sizzix machine from eBay, the original one. I thought those suckers don't go wrong do they, you push the lever and they work. But yeah, there's so many different dies these days and working out how to make some of them cut it doing my head in! And of course I figure out the right combination to cut, cut something and then promptly forget how I did it grrrrr! And these new thin dies don't seem to cut through cardstock for me, so I have to just just paper but they're all so intricate, I've no idea how I will adhere them. Shall I call this, scrapbooking problems 101? I bought some fancy feather dies (the new Jane Davenport ones) but I'm having so many problems getting them to cut I'm about to shove them all back in a box to be hidden away forever!

Good morning team!! There's nothing going on here. I haven't had much time to scrapbook and have one sort of plain layout to share, I just need to take a picture. kiwigirl I think that's more like scrapbooking 201. Much more advanced then, say, reloading an adhesive dispenser. ATG excluded, that would be Scrapbooking 102. ha!! Way back when, I remember the thin dies from QuikKutz came a thin foam shim to adhere to the back to help get a better cut. Can you rig up something like that to see if that helps? I marked off the challenges with the bonuses so I know where I need to start my focus. If I don't go to the movies tonight, I'll give it a try. I hope everyone has a great day!

I was attempting a 45 point page as well... I don't own Nuvo's so I was using Stickles. Do Nuvo's dry fast because Stickles don't and my DS wouldn't leave his fingers off my layout while it was wet and they smeared... I am trying to spell S-N-O-W but since I didn't use Nuvo's I'm stuck on N... and even with those 5 points, I'm short and I've thrown everything possible on there. I tried to plan ahead, but I think I picked the wrong layout. I might make another attempt with another layout and better planning. I used square photos and lost that rectangle point

Are any of the papers/collections you used named something that starts with an N?

It's a fun challenge.

I bought some fancy feather dies (the new Jane Davenport ones) Oooh, I saw those feathers used in a youtube video and I *loved* them! To get thru cardstock, just add a paper shim. And yes, I agree, adhering is a pita - I just use small dots of matte adhesive and try to get away with as little adhesion as I can! @breetheflea - no nuvos do NOT dry fast - I put my page on top of my fridge or piano after I add nuvos (last step) to dry overnight.

I think Nuvos drying depends on where you are, whether you have air conditioning etc. Mine dry in an hour or so. not fully rock hard, but hard enough for me to carry on with the page and not wang them up. For me they dry way, way faster than Stickles. Stickles used to take frikken hours, like overnight! I have made a list of SNOW words, I just don't remember where I put it right now, but when I find it, I'll post it here. N is the problem though! kitbop I am trying all sorts of shims and this and that and nothing is working. So frustrating. I should dig out my Cuttlebug and try that one too. I thought it was buggered which was why I got the Sizzix but when I tried my dies in the Sizzix, they wouldn't cut in there either so I think I probably wore them out. I did used to cut class supplies from them often so they were used a lot. They were all thin dies too, I just don't think the thin ones are as good as the big old thick Sizzix and Quickcutz ones of yore hahahaha! I am almost at the point of asking for a Big Shot for xmas now, which will annoy me cause then I will have 3 die cutting machines in my craft room. But it seems like the Big Shot will actually cut everything. I did want a new vacuum cleaner for xmas..... how do you know you're a grown up, when you ask for boring stuff like vacuum cleaners for Christmas!

Hahahaha I asked for a garage door opener one year for Christmas! It was the greatest gift for me not having to get out of the car to open the door lol. Now that I'm divorced, I have to buy my own gifts, and I always like what I choose for myself! I have been such a slacker this month! I do have a couple layouts I'm working on. One is very simple and I was calling it done, but I can add a few little touches to pick up a few more points on it. The other one is being a PITA and I'm about to put it aside to finish for some other time. In fact I have set it aside twice and then I think "you will not defeat me!" And pull it out again

Good morning! I've been so tired this week and just can't get myself started when I get home. Maybe tonight? The weekend is a little jammed but maybe I'll be able to squeeze in some time on Sunday. kiwigirl I'm laughing about the vacuum cleaner Christmas gift. It's great if that's what you want but one year DH brought home steam mop as an "early christmas gift". That did not go over well. LOL joyfulnana - I've had layouts like that which just do no cooperate. I had to give them time outs.

Just checking in! I've had a busy week so far (it's my 'good week' before my chemo next week), I've been visiting friends and socialising and generally making memories not just scrapbooking. Which feels wonderful But I have done some pages! And they're in the sharing thread and I've claimed points. Also points for crocheting some Christmas presents, as I've been working on those a lot. kiwigirl this is what puts me off die cutting. It just seems so complicated! And I do have (and sometimes use) a Silhouette, but that seems easier, somehow! Get them out the drawer and try again christinec68 I hope you can get some time to scrapbook this weekend. The days seem to be racing by, how does that happen?! joyfulnana I hope you can get that layout finished. Sometimes you just need a break from them. I find if I put layouts away I lose all momentum with them so usually I just persevere until I can call it finished. breetheflea I find my Nuvos dry MUCH quicker than Stickles, but I still like to leave them overnight just in case. But I think they are 'touch dry' in an hour or so normally. I am considering doing that 45-point challenge! Hmmmm. Might have to give it some thought. I'm currently a bit stuck on a layout that I decided needed watercolour leaves - I think there's a Pinkfresh Collection with some in? And I thought "I paint, I don't need to buy leaves, I can make my own ephemera". Obviously this is now taking FOREVER as I have to paint the perfect leaves, and then I need other bits to go with them....it would possibly have been cheaper (and certainly easier!) to just buy the embellishment pack. LOL!

Glad you're having a good week craftykitten! I gave up on the stupid feathers in the end and put everything away in a box! I will look at some YouTube videos and try and work out what sandwich I need to try grrrrrr! I thought it might re-start my mojo to have a nice clean desk again but nope, nothing!

hahaha that layout is still in time out! love that @christine68 lol. craftykitten it's so good to hear you are feeling well this week! I knit and crochet as well but haven't picked up a project in a few years. I'm the same about setting layouts aside. I can put it aside for a couple of days but longer than that, and I forgot what I was doing with it. I've never had a manual die cutter, only a cricut which I got mostly to cut fonts. I've had an expression for years with a ton of carts and I've only now started really looking through the images to see what I can cut lol. Shopping is apparently my real hobby We had our first snow, of the year yesterday. Less than an inch, last year we got our first inch of snow on Christmas Eve morning, so this feels pretty early.

Morning girls! I can see the sun, it's coming up over the hill across the valley and beaming into my eyes! Haven't seen it for so long it feels like. Someone is coming to fix a bit of our roof today so I'm up early and I don't know if we will be golfing later or not. Hopefully, I could use the exercise. My weight has been plateaued for weeks now, I've lost 4kg - 9lb since September 26th, I just keep going up and down the same kilo and I'm very bored and want to move on from here. The funny thing is, I'm starting to feel like I've lost weight now, I feel smaller. I probably need to start doing something different, probably join the gym and get a PT I got a massive, and I mean massive, box of stash in the post from stinkerbelle yesterday and it included one of the Pinkfresh warehouse boxes! I even started a LO last night on my way to bed, so that was a great surprise and a surprise to get the mojo started too! I think I need to just do some LOs, not worry about points and getting 45 points for the LO, just sit down and do some LOs for the fun of it.

So... the roof dude finished and the rain started to pour down! So no golfing today here. I finished my LO and it was 43 points! So clearly I have to find 2 more points from somewhere for it don't I! Waiting on the Nuvo border to dry though so I might crack on with another!

I got my new vintage/ matte nuvos in the mail yesterday and I'm loving the periwinkle and grey colours, and I know the red and green will really work fab for Christmas layouts, and the GOLD holy hannah do I love the GOLD!!!

I got 53 points on a layout so with my bonus I get 63!!! (eta: found a way to get nuvos on the layout...the clear/enamelling version!...so it's up to 64 points, tied with you kiwigirl ) However, it took at least twice as long as a normal layout because of the details, and making stuff work on the page without losing my style on the page IYKWIM. I started with scraps only, different manufacturers, "snow" theme, and followed one of our saturday sketches. An easy bonus was the shapes - circles, triangles (I did a little banner), squares and rectangles. Fitting mixed media on I decided to use paint on some wood veneer (two-fer!). Will be sharing in the morning - no light left to photograph.

Awesome kitbop, can't wait to see it! I have my menu LO on my desk and I'm not loving it. I had an idea but it's not worked that well, oh well, I'll finish it and move on! I want to do some of the sketches as well, and I really should start working on some DT projects for my December 1st blog. I've got the Whimsical collection from Paige Evans but now I have it in my hands, I don't love it all that much unfortunately. I saw Missy Whidden using it in a video and was like wow, look at those colours, that's a bit of me. But that was just Missy doing her magic with them I think and IRL the colours are a bit muddy and dull

It's such a quiet month compared to the previous few! Way fewer layouts and less chitchat. Is everyone just getting into holiday mood/prep? I did another 49 pointer today (so 59 points) and it's a LITTLE less crowded than my snow-covered offering But I'm not somebody who can put 1 enamel dot on a layout just for the point - it needs to be balanced by other enamel dots! Today's layout is called "Happy Misty People" - it's at Niagara Falls - and the title is a play on "Happy Shiny People" by REM. I had to explain this to my 15 year old DD, who is way into music and knows lots of old music too...but even when I pulled it up on youtube to show her, she didn't recognize it.

Good Morning ladies! kiwigirl how awesome that stinkerbelle sent you a box of goodies! I'm so glad you got one of the pinkfresh boxes, I knew you really wanted one of those! stinkerbelle is the best! I have been in a crafty slump and not scrapping at all. Still have the same layouts out, and they still need the same amount of work lol. kitbop I think it's the run up to the holidays that is keeping things quiet here. For myself I have scrapped more since March than I have in several years and I feel like I'm in a "rest" period. Determined to get my dinner challenge layout done though. I think I will set the others aside for now since I'm obviously not feeling it with those.

It is quiet this month isn't it! I did my menu LO and finished it off. Now I've started on a DT LO so it's good I've started on that. I need to go and work on a big Nuvo border that I am sure will be quite tricky but look amazing if it works!

I was wondering if it was always this quiet. I took a few days off (three day weekend, my kids were being pests) but hope to get creative again tomorrow. I've made a few layouts I haven't posted yet, and have a few challenges I want to cross off my list still.

Hello Team! I'm sorry I've been quiet. The weekend was a wash scrap wise---we went to shows on both Friday & Saturday night which basically kicked my butt for Sunday which was spent laying on the sofa. I hope to get back in the swing of things tonight or tomorrow. I still have that one layout from last week that I never posted (or photographed for that matter). I am determined to get the 45 point bonus layout done and noticed the 10 point sketch from Saturday!! That will be a huge help! kitbop - I thought of REM the second I read Happy Misty People! kiwigirl - enjoy the goodies from stinkerbelle It was so nice of her to send them off to you Several years ago, I put together a batch of my stash I didn't use/want any longer and shipped them to the library where my mother volunteered. They were starting up a memory keeping workshop and funds were tight. I don't remember exactly how long ago this was but to not exaggerate, let's say this was 4 years ago. The box turned up on my doorstep last week. I resued an amazon box and the label I used ripped off at some point so my home address was visible and delivered last week. The carton was beat up but nothing appears to be damaged which was surprising.

OMG christinec68, was it like Christmas though? Did you look at the stuff and think, this stuff is all so cool now, I'm keeping it! I can imagine that stuff I got rid of 4 years ago I would love now! The last few purchases I have done have been old stash, I got old BG and then a batch of old BoBunny religious lines. craftykitten I keep forgetting to say that I did my first order with the Free Prints app on the weekend so I'm waiting for those to come now I wish they would let us do b&w and put 2 photos together on a 6x4 but life isn't perfect is it. I must check out the PL app cause I think I can put 2 photos together on that and that might make the free prints cool! I am not a big fan of 6x4 photos but I'll get cropping and make them smaller

kiwigirl - it was the opposite of Christmas. I flipped through it to see what was there but nothing caught my eye in that "glad to have ya back in the house" kind of way. Luckily, my sister said she would take it off my hands. She is active with her kids' school and my niece is in the girl scouts and likes crafts so it will get put to good use there.
