OMG christinec68, was it like Christmas though? Did you look at the stuff and think, this stuff is all so cool now, I'm keeping it! I can imagine that stuff I got rid of 4 years ago I would love now! The last few purchases I have done have been old stash, I got old BG and then a batch of old BoBunny religious lines. craftykitten I keep forgetting to say that I did my first order with the Free Prints app on the weekend so I'm waiting for those to come now I wish they would let us do b&w and put 2 photos together on a 6x4 but life isn't perfect is it. I must check out the PL app cause I think I can put 2 photos together on that and that might make the free prints cool! I am not a big fan of 6x4 photos but I'll get cropping and make them smaller I use the PL app to put 2 (or more!) Photos together and then print. I think that's what made me start doing 8.5x11 pages, lol. christinec68 that's so funny! I wonder where the parcel has been all this time. Just when you thought youd cleared a space in your house... kitbop it is definitely quieter online at the moment, I think everyone is doing holiday-ish things for Thanksgiving? Definitely noticing it but as we dont celebrate Thanksgiving I should be making an effort to post more. I'm still scrapping though

christinec68, that's alarming and amazing! Something being "out there" for 4 years??? Just wrong! I got an e-mail today from Simon Says Stamp that they found an old unused $10 gift card under my name, and have given me the funds... yay!

kitbop - that's nice they sent the email. Most places would consider it found money! There's not much going on here, most notably scrapbooking. I want to but can't muster up the energy. One of these days, I promise.

I have managed to rustle up my first DT LO for the month so I'm glad I've made a start on that. I love it too, worked really well I must point it up and get my points for it. I have another sort of started and ideas for a third so it'll be good if I can polish those off so they're done and I don't have to worry about getting them done. For about the last 3 years, all I used to do was my DT projects for the month and maybe I'd do 2 or 3 LOs for me in the year. So the challenges on this forum have really got me scrapping for me again, thanks to stinkerbelle for coming up with the ideas! I have been using stash and having a great time doing it

Good Morning! @breetheflea, this is an exceptionally quiet month around here for sure. christinec68 that was a weird kind of surprise I'll bet too bad there wasn't anything you wanted to keep. I packed up a bunch of stuff I wasn't using then started doing the challenges and got it all back out again and I'm pretty sure I still haven't used any of it I did manage to finish a layout yesterday, and I think my dinner challenge layout will be next. I'm past the point on the ones that are in process. I'm not inspired right now to finish them even though they both meet some challenges so I guess I should rethink that. Hmmm.... And I really should make an effort on the sketch I posted last week since I get 10 extra points lol. kiwigirl you can do all types of photo sizes using the collage in the PL app. I used that at times and then upload to my local Walgreens or pick up the same day. And the app is free now which is a plus!

Thanks for the reminder about the PL app joyfulnana, I am downloading it now! I got my first lot of Free Prints and that opened up 'white borders' for me to add to my next lot of photos. So I'm guessing things open up the more you order prints so hopefully b&w will eventually turn up! The first lot of prints are good quality, they're just huge to me cause they're 6x4 and I'm used to using way smaller pics

I use a photo editing program called Picassa. It's a free download. I can make what they call photo collages. Most often I put 2 pics on a 4x6. Then I upload them to where ever I am getting my prints done. There are also several options for changing them to sepia, black and white and several other options.

gramma I use Photoshop on my laptop, I just wanted something super simple to use on the phone. Actually, I just wanted the app to do everything I wanted it to do and make my life super simple hahaha! Wouldn't that be lovely! I didn't end up doing much yesterday except reading my book! I got an old Leslsy Pearce book on my Kindle and I'm loving it. She's one of my favourite authors and I never want to put the books down. I never buy them when they come out though cause they're £9.99!!!! Well..... I accidentally bought one cause I didn't have my glasses on and thought it was 99p, whoops! I have 3 DT LOs on the go and I want to polish them off before I get on with the sketches. I must get my butt on the exercise bike first and that has a tendency to kill any srappy mojo I have!

kitbop can't beat found money! That's so cool that they gave it to you! kiwigirl I seldom read any more because I have such a hard time putting down a book and won't do anything else till it's done. I've been that way my whole life and burned many a dinner because I was reading and cooking lol. I've got a couple LO's done but haven't posted yet. Then starting the dinner challenge today. I hope I can start and finish that one today. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Last night, I finished a layout and actually took pictures of pages to post for the month. One of them met the 45 point challenge until I realized that the SNOW spelling challenge also needed to be on a layout that involved snow. I realized that late last night so I want to go back add a few things that will get me to 45. The dinner challenge is on deck but I think I want to give the 45 point challenge another go. I have some more ideas for that one.

Man, you ladies doing the points challenge LO's I am in awe. Sorry kiwigirl , I'm earning even less points than usual this month lol. I also sent you a PM I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! My place will be full of boys all weekend and probably no scrapping. Although my youngest DS has mentioned wanting to scrapbook with me while he's here. I'm going to get him all hooked up with the PL app. It should be fun Lots of love and healing thoughts and vibes going out for craftykitten. I hope you have a smooth recovery!

I am overwhelmed this month especially, and was last month as well. I am overwhelmed by having 80 challenges. It makes my head hurt to match my layouts to the challenges. It's just too much. It is not inspiring to me at all.
Next month I am not going to participate. While I am happy so many people are getting things done, it is the opposite for me in having to post points I can't keep up with.
I feel like I'm probably alone in this, but it just seems a little out of control for me. It's not fun and I just don't feel much like posting because of it.

I agree about the number of challenges but quite a few are redundant in certain ways so it's easy to earn points but i get what you're saying...it's sucking the fun out of it for you. I was like this about challenges on another message board...all the challenges seemed convoluted with different rules for each one and I didn't have the brain power to keep track of them. ha! There are no teams for December but the challenges are still there for inspiration

I think if it's not fun, then what's the point? I think it's good you realise this myboysnme and if it isn't fun for you then, yeah, don't bother. I totally get that it could be overwhelming to people as well. I have my little routine and I find writing out the challenges on a pad at the start of the month helps to get them in my mind and then I go through my list when I finish a LO and tot up the points. But then I'm not making 62 LOs at a crop, that is definitely a lot of points to tally up! I did find all the challenges overwhelming in the first few months for sure but I've figured out how to make it all work for me now and it does work. I like the personal challenge of trying to beat my own scores for a single LO or my score every month, I really don't care if my team wins every month at all, I just want to create a few LOs and compete with myself. But I do like the teams for chatting I'm sorry you're not finding it fun myboysnme but now we have a challenge forum you could always start your own challenges that are the kind of things you like to do? Just throw up a thread if you have any ideas myboysnme, you will always be welcome to come and chat in the Kiwi's Girls team threads if you want to come and say hello but not bother with the points side of things, we're here to chat

myboysnme , I know the 80 was so much this month! It felt like a lot of "noise". I compensated by picking a couple of challenges that really spoke to me and focusing on them. I think you should just throw out everything above #30 - you'd still have enough to work from, but you wouldn't feel overwhelmed! There is absolutely no need to try to do anymore than you'd like, or any at all. Just be with us and post your layouts for 2 points each I still want to see them! Of course, I'm referring to January here - I think we all need a December break. I laughed at kiwigirl s comment about "62 layouts at a crop" - that WOULD stress me out! I'm more into a slow but steady style. Same with cards. The idea of creating piles of Christmas Cards is distressing to me, and yet I still want to do it...why? I hope you will still post your layouts in the challenge thread because they are beautiful and inspiring (and I'm so not good about going through the gallery, but I love the thread of layouts...). It's hard to limit the challenges. Everyone has different things that inspire them, or seem like fun to them...

How is everyone doing with one week to go in the month? I am doing terribly! There won't be many points from me this month at all, I am just not into it really. I think Sketchtember really sucked all my creativity up but I did love it, a sketch a day was great!
I had to buckle down and get serious about losing weight again this past week cause I stalled for a long time and was basically losing and putting on the same kilo for weeks and weeks. I managed to lose 2.6kg which was great so I must keep going. I have lost a total of 18.6 now (41lb) and gone down 2 sizes. I keep having to buy smaller bras! I also found some low carb bread that is 3g per slice and amazing! I had soup with toast to dip into it the other day and wow, I enjoyed that!

I haven't been feeling it this month either. I seem to lose steam about midway through the month every month. This will be my lowest points total. And it's not like I'm ever top of the leaderboard anyway Congrats on the weight loss kiwigirl! I wish I had buy new bras lol. I have got to get on my diet as well. I see the Dr again in April and I haven't done anything with enough consistency this year to budge a single pound. I decided not to wait until after Christmas to start, I'm feeling so miserable in my clothes right now. I should have done something months ago, but better late than never!

Have you ever thought about how many pieces it takes to make a card? Especially if you are a big Cameo user. 11 pieces for the one I started for the card swap. Plus some inking and embossing. I got through 50 and thought "Well you ought to have those done by February" - So I stopped doing the cute little snowmen and went to a more generic design. This one only had 7 pieces - no inking - no embossing. Finished those babies last night.
Regular scrapping to go in my books? Not happening this month.

I really don't know why I'm not spending more time crafting. The weather is pants lately, it's been real cold, but there's a massive radiator under my craft desk and an extra oil heater as well (cause the cat likes to sleep on the desk at night) so it's always warm out there, despite all the glass. But I am just not inspired at all! Oh well..... nothing I can do about it! Glad you swapped designs and got your cards finished gramma!

I tallied 600 points for November. I had more but this is all I could get it together to count, so I hope we don't lose because I was too lazy to count accurately!

I need to add up my points, I probably won't be adding any more layouts in November. Last time I checked my points were in the 250 range, but some of my earlier in the month layouts were tallied before the challenge list was complete so I need to recount those... I am guessing I made least 20 layouts this month.
I had fun with the challenges! If only I could stay this motivated all year, I'd probably be buried under piles of albums and be running out of things to scrap about ha ha ha.

I had soup with toast to dip into it the other day and wow, I enjoyed that! WTG kiwigirl! That's a remarkable weight loss. Bread is soooooooooo good, it's my enemy. I too really stalled this month. I am currently focused on card making - I will get more points for those (don't want to post them since I'm sending them out here, but will get the points!) in my crafty time, getting photos edited for printing (I seem to print annually. Isn't that pathetic.), and my "extra" energy is taking me to the gym after work...I've been 4-5x/week for 6 weeks now...trying to create habits...great physical changes seen...so why do I still hate/resent it so? I'd much rather be scrapping with a bag of m&ms and netflix. Question about cards: if I'm making the same design, do I get to claim points for each one???

Oh I hate coming on this thread and seeing craftykitten posting at the top. I'm so worried about her, I hope she's home soon kitbop yep, points for each card and remember 1 point for making each one. You would only get 1 point for sharing though (not 1 point each card) so if you don't share, you only lose 1 point overall. I have to sit and type my DT blog post today. I was having problems staying connected to the net yesterday which turned out to be Adblocker doing something so that was annoying. I had an afternoon and evening 'offline' which was kind of freeing! So I am getting on the bike and doing 10 miles then sitting on my butt and typing all day!

I have lost a total of 18.6 now (41lb) and gone down 2 sizes. This is a big achievement! I had weight loss surgery 2 months ago and I am down 39 lbs today. I just barely dipped under 200 lbs this morning.
