For our family “pre-Thanksgiving” I made a pecan pie and a cherry cheesecake. For the extended family celebration on Thanksgiving Day, I’m bringing a pudding dessert my grandma used to make every thanksgiving.

The non-pumpkin eaters outnumber those that like pumpkin, so we will not be having any pumpkin anything this year.
I want to make a Coca-Cola cake since it is my favorite and I told DH I was going to wait and make my pecan pie cheesecake at Christmas. I did see a recipe for a pecan pie upside down cake. Sounds interesting.
DD (20) keeps begging to make her homemade (from scratch) coconut cake that she made several years ago. She has been soundly outvoted by the rest of the family--the last time she made it we kept finding tiny pieces of coconut for two years until we moved. That stuff is like glitter, you can't get rid of it!!

Pumpkin pie. For the first time, my mom didnt want to make it (she makes the best pie crust), so I picked one up at Costco. They have the closest to homemade I have ever had

Oh, those ooey gooey pumpkin bars sound amazing. So far, I have made plain vanilla and chocolate. But I haven't tried the pumpkin yet. I might have to this year. Lisa They are. They also have nutmeg in them if you like that flavor. Mmmm.

Our aging group is limiting carbs so I made bars instead of pies (apple pie and pecan) and cut in small bite sized squares. We did our celebration 2 days ago. Everyone had "dessert" and it went over really well.

We are skipping the pie this year and having pumpkin cheesecake with ginger snap crust. I made that one year when we had a big family Thanksgiving. Everyone loved it except that one aunt who whined that "it's just not Thanksgiving without a pumpkin pie". Always one in the crowd... But everyone else loved it and enjoyed having something different but seasonal.

Pumpkin pie, banana cream pie, chocolate silk pie, coconut cake, and cream puffs and cheesecake with hot fudge, caramel sauce, blueberries or raspberries. I only have 14 coming for dinner, but other friends and family stop by for a bite of dessert and coffee throughout the evening.

Spongemom Scrappants- What was that simple dessert that you posted last year? All I can remember is Cool Whip and chocolate? And it was layers I think- no baking. I made it and it was a hit. I guess I need to decide quickly what I'm doing. At least there will only be 7 of us and nobody wants anything pumpkin...

I bought a split pie pan to try this year since it's just going to be SO and I so we can have more kinds of pie with less waste. So it'll be a half apple pie, half blueberry pie and whole cherry pie.

My mom is making a sugar free pecan crust cheesecake ( my bil is doing keto and is gluten-free). I did convince her to make a regular pumpkin pie because it is dh and my kid's favorite and mine never turns out as good as hers - even though I do her recipe! I don't like either and I should be good and just not have anything. But I really want to make my college roommate's mom's cranberry apple cobbler. I won't get to make it for Christmas since we'll be in Cabo. So now is my chance for the year, but I haven't decided yet!

I was going to make pumpkin pie and cherry pie, but the cherry pie person isn’t coming to dinner now so I might wait on that until he will be around (Christmas) and we don’t really need two pies. BUT— I don’t like pumpkin pie, so I might make a pan of pecan pie bars to satisfy my own sweet tooth. Or I could just eat some of the dozens of sugar cookies I’ve got sitting around here...

Sugar cream pie and probably an oatmeal pie. Plus some Christmas Crack. I never want to wait for Christmas to make it.
4 out of 5 of us don't like pumpkin pie. Or anything with pumpkin other than muffins.

Pumpkin, Dutch Apple, French Silk, cherry, and Bourbon Banana Cream pie here! I made the banana cream filling tonight, and I'll make most of the other pies tomorrow. I usually make the apple Thanksgiving morning, then put in the oven while we are eating...warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream!

We always have pumpkin pie, chocolate pecan pie and we make gingerbread houses. This year I also ordered a vegan cake from While Foods because ds’ girlfriend is joining us and she’s vegan.

We are having pumpkin pie and carrot cake. My dh’s, co-worker’s wife is an incredible baker, so my dh caved and ordered the carrot cake. He brought it home today and it’s beautiful! I don’t really want to cut into it, but he brought home a sample cupcake last week and it’s absolutely the best I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be taking a picture for posterity though.

I am making a pumpkin white chocolate mousse cheesecake. It was such a hit last year that I’m making it again and it was even beloved by some cheesecake haters.

Probably that Mock Eclair dessert? Layers of graham crackers and french vanilla pudding combined with cool whip - topped with chocolate frosting. Super easy and a family favorite. I'm making Dixie's Pecan Pie Cobbler this year. Recipe. My husband's secretary found the recipe a couple weeks ago and I made it last week at his request. Now my cousin has asked that I bring it to the family dinner, so I'm making it again today!

For Friendsgiving a couple weeks ago, I made a pumpkin brulee cheesecake. For our family gathering, I will attempt to make a pumpkin and devils' food layer cake with buttercream frosting and chocolate genache! A picture of it was featured on a magazine for Halloween (It had meringue ghosts on top) and I just HAVE to give it a try! I don't know how I will transport it though!

Just the 3 of us this year. DH requested my pound cake because "the frozen slices are so good at 2 am". I baked that this afternoon. At the rate he's "testing" the cake, there won't be any left to freeze the leftovers! I also plan to make a key lime pie because I wanted something a little lighter. DD is moaning about there not being ice cream, so I told her if she showed up with some I'd serve it. That requires a trip to the grocery so I doubt that happens.
