I carry very small cross-body style bags with no room for anything but the basics. I can't play this game. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) But I'm thoroughly enjoying the responses so far. Interesting!

mustlovecats way to go! lainey lucky! disneypal that totally made me giggle. workingclassdog can you imagine the officers reaction to some of the things listed here. I think if I had to have my bag checked daily, I would deliberately put odd bits in it just to amuse him. PLurker and @megmc I have a small postcard sized board that my uncle used to wipe his brush on. He was a sign painter. I love it so much. When I asked to have it he was so flattered. About a year later he sent me a t-shirt on which he wiped brushes in a peace sign shape. It's all kinds of awesome. inkedup when ds was a little, I used to delight in the wacky stuff I would pull out of my purse. He is weeks away from 18 ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg) but as recently as 16 I still carried around matchbox cars to amuse him.

A dollar bill thatās scrunched up (but flat) to smaller than the size of a credit card.
Been there close to 25 yrs. my ex husband worked at Fruit if the Loom then and ran a compactor machine. It scrunched the fabric but kept it flat. That was their was of making fabric pre-shrunk. Hard to explain but it scrunched the fabric to a smaller size then they cut the shirt pieces. The scrunches fell out as it was sewed and handled but then when the garment was washed the first time it would shrink to the size it was supposed to be because it was cut bigger.

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

An Iowa quarter. To this day those four years I spent there were the best of my life.

I don't have anything unusual. It's a small purse. But, what a fun thread! Thanks for starting it.

An insulin reservoir for my insulin pump. When the reservoir is low enough that I need to change it out of my pump it usually has a little insulin in it still. I find these are good to carry with me with a syringe in case myou pump stops working. I have an extra pod in my purse and a fun size bag of Skittles ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

Ha ! I have a tape measure too. Back in the day, the tile squares in all of the stores were 12 inches square. You could use those for handy measuring. Now a lot of stores have different shapes and types of floors.

I have a series plastic doll that was meant to be a cake topper (dollar store) wearing an orange dress. My youngest dd bought it for me for Christmas when she was 2-3 because I love orange. It makes every purse move.
And a furminator, because I brush my super shedding jindo mix outdoors when I can!

The other day I had a handful of McDonald straws. I pick them up for my husband cause he is a straw snob. So we always pick up extra's for him. Funny thing is that I have to have my bag inspected before going into work and the officer searched my bag he looked up at me and said I won for the month for the weirdest thing.. I usually have those too. Their straws are the best!

Packaged one time use chopsticks - my little son takes "free" things where ever he sees them. We went out for Chinese a few weeks ago and this was his take away. Beaded bracelets - we went away for a long weekend and I couldn't decide which bracelet to bring so I put them in a "safe" place. 1000 receipts and papers - ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/R6yG4nI0YHiVm0wktwl4.jpg) I so need to clean out my purse!

I always have the little salt packs from McDonalds. As I had mentioned on a previous thread, McDonalds recently changed the packaging AND the salt ! It used to be very fine and now itās not quite so fine. Consequently, Iām not as obsessed with it. But I still have it - in case I need it. š

I also have a small crossbody purse so I donāt carry anything extra. When my girls were in high school I was the sports mom with everything. I always carried a little first aid/medical kit, plus another kit with hair ties, gum, tape measure, earplugs... If someone needed something and I didnāt have it I would make sure to stock it for next time. Other girls and their parents would ask me for items. One of my favorite memories was when my daughter came up and asked for her Starbucks smoothie while I was talking to a dad from her team. I pulled it out of my purse and he started laughing and said that I really DO have everything! (I was smuggling it in because they sold them outside AND inside the venue but you werenāt allowed to bring food in. Iām usually a rule follower but not that day, it didnāt make sense.)

Also a piece of layers of hard auto paint from the old American Motors plant in Kenosha WI. My Dad worked there on maintenance and picked it off machinery and made my mom jewelry out of it. It is layers and layers of different colored (think of 70s car colors) over sprayed auto paint that landed on surrounding stuff on line. It kind of reminds me of layers of colored desert rock or sand. Oddly pretty. This piece is oblong and curved that must have come off a spray line/hose as the curve hugs a finger perfectly. I've been meaning to make a ring out of it which is why it's in purse- to find ring part. It was in my Mom's stuff when she died. One piece my DD already has as a necklace and another curved piece is heart shaped that is for DS to make a key chain. There are earrings too. The layered auto paint is known as Fordite - making jewellery from it is quite a big thing (my Mum is a hobbyist silversmith and has made a couple of pieces with it). Your Dad was a trendsetter! www.boredpanda.com/car-paint-deposits-fordite-detroit-agate/Fordite images ![:yeahthat:](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/yrGoHMAelQz8f2Qt0sjb.jpg) !!!! Who knew it was a thing? Forwarded article to DD who enjoyed seeing. Thanks!

a miniature red plastic toy monkey from a keychain-sized "Barrel of Monkeys" game.
I found it on the sidewalk years ago when we were in Tombstone, AZ over the Christmas holiday-- odd little things like that catch my eye. When I saw it, I picked it up and tossed it into my purse... Not sure why I keep it in my purse, but seeing it every once in a while reminds me of what a good time we had.
And I usually have at least two or 3 extra straws from the QT in my purse... whenever I refill a soda at the QT, I grab a few extra straws in case the straw in my glass cracks and doesn't work any more.

workingclassdog can you imagine the officers reaction to some of the things listed here. I think if I had to have my bag checked daily, I would deliberately put odd bits in it just to amuse him. There was one young guy who was really nice and gave me a hard time about my messy purse.. He said his wife is the same way. (My debit card was just thrown in my purse).. He says it drove him nuts when she is always looking for it.. I had to laugh at that cause there was my card just laying in my purse... so now when I notice that he is the 'checker'.. I either make sure it is VERY organized.. or make it more messy...
