joyfulnana , did you get the big ice storm yesterday? I understand never leaving the house. I wish I could do that. There are days that I hate going out in the cold. I hope you still have power. We had a big storm yesterday with lots of rain and snow. kellyr21 , I have had empathy for you and all the rain you are having. We got just one day of that and it was terrible driving. The lines in the road don't show up under water and in the rain. It was a scary drive home last night. I hope there will not be lots of mudslides again in southern CA. Hugs to you and Ron. I can't wait to see what you do with your canvases. justjac , Happy Belated B-day. I didn't get here in time to celebrate the actual day. What fun to take a wire art class. I love those wire Tree of Life sculptures. Be sure to show us the process. You sound busy as usual. How is teaching going? justlisa7 , I'm glad you are surviving without your DD. I thought my heart would break when my DD moved to Georgia and TOOK HER CHILDREN with them. I was used to having Grandma Day one day a week and they moved away. I did finally get over it, and enjoyed a few visits to GA. Have a great l-o-n-g weekend of scrapping. How fun is that. patin , I am loving your layouts this month. My Animal Kingdom pages are my favorite I have ever scrapped, and I like yours so much better!! AK is my favorite Disney park. I also loved those NM pages. Reminded me of my one trip to that area. woodysbetty ,I hope your building process goes smoothly. I remember people telling us years ago that a marriage that thrives through building a home will last forever. LOL. I don't envy you and LisaDV , in making all the decisions that have to be made. Drop in here when you feel stress. We are always happy to hear from you. LisaDV , I hope things go well with the cleaning, scraping and peeling, but how nice it will be when it is totally finished. Good luck deciding on colors. That's never been easy for me. I'm sure your home will be beautiful when you finish. Take care of yourself while you are caring for the new home. @elaynef , did your DH make that Tabernacle. What a great visual aid for his teaching. Your pages this month are amazing. You can post 100 of those pages about Geronimo Creek. No one will be tired of them. Those boys are so cute and their activities together are delightful!! msliz , how's the practice driving going? It sounds like your DD is really putting herself out there. Hope things are going well for her. knutschen , how was the Crop? I hope you will share photos and pages. grammadee , I am so sorry about your knees. I hope you are getting some relief today. My bad one is still swollen from the fall. Going out in the cold makes it ache. I am hoping it does better as the weather gets better. I hope your DH continues to heal. I had to giggle at his "plan" to be sick this week. DH is just the opposite. He had more Derm. surgery 2 days ago and I have to nag him to keep the stitches covered when he's around people who may be squeamish. Nothing keeps him down. I am trying to pick up my scraproom a bit after all the stuff I pulled out to organize my dies. I hope to be able to have table room before the end of the day!

Happy Saturday ladies! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY justjac!!! justlisa7 I hope you are getting some scrapping done this weekend now that things are settling down for you and your DD. grammadee I hope they are able to help your knees. Mine take turns being the good and the bad ones. Hope you are getting lot of scrappy time in with DH being sleepy! kellyr21 tomorrow is the day! I'm so excited lol. nylene I often wonder about all my supplies when I'm gone. As it stands right now only my mom and one niece scrapbook and I'm surrounded by boys who while they love my pages will probably have no idea what to do with all the supplies. If it were me, I would overwhelmed by having to deal with it all lol. I love it that you have a little helper that wants to get you organized. I need one too! lol woodysbetty I hope you are doing well. Even though things are stressful it's going to be so exciting when things are finished and you can unpack! I did manage to get my car cleared and even got out a couple times this week. And surprisingly the snow is melting fairly quickly. We did get a bit of sleet and not nearly all the snow they were calling for last night. The storm has passed and we only got about an inch so keeping fingers crossed that the power is staying on this weekend lol. It's also not going to be as brutally cold as they were calling for this weekend either. I have my photos sorted and have done a bit of knitting. My December photos arrived and I'm ready to get to scrapping those. I have a couple of past years that need scrapped as well so I will probably just work on Christmas pages until I have all of those done. I don't think I've scrapped anything since October and I'm really missing it.

LisaDV - wow! You will be so busy getting the house ready, but you sound so organized! I hope all goes well for you getting it done with the kids and you get everything painted. grammadee - I hope your knee gets better and glad your husband is feeling better. So funny he has been “planning” to be too sick to miss the event. Haha nylene - hope you get time to spend you scrapbook room after organizing your dies. Do you ever cut stuff out ahead of time to use? Or as needed? I just got the sidekick for Christmas and love it. I am planning on using it Sunday and Monday. I got some cute dies and 2 sets of Tim Holtz word dies too that fit in it. This is my first time owning metal dies and a machine. 😉 joyfulnana - I need to clean my car too. I think I am going to have it done Monday morning early before I scrapbook. Hoping you don’t get too much snow (though as I always say, I miss it so much!) and get some time to scrapbook. Do you make a separate Christmas album for December? kellyr21 - have you made any paintings or artwork lately? You have so much talent!! I hope all you Pokey Peas have a wonderful weekend! Supposed to go shopping with my mom this afternoon and out for lunch, and then coming back to my house and the grandkids are coming over. We have a new area set up for our fire pit and have been enjoying having fires outside in the evenings as it has been great weather for it. The boys love it! Me too!

I was wondering, does mainly everyone here scrapbook 12x12? Do you ever make separate vacation or Christmas or “Me” , OLW, Week in the Life, or whatever in 6x8 albums? I mainly scrapbook 6x8 now, except for my daughter’s wedding album. I sometimes scrapbook 4x6 or 5x7 and 6x12. I started scrapbooking in 1997 I believe, with Creative Memories and then switched to K& Co, and other 12x12 albums such as WRMK and AC, and quit the CM stuff. I have probably 30+ 12x12 albums . Some I have given to my daughters. We do still get ones out and look at them and some of CM I did not finish because and probably could be consolidated. Over the years, I have made many homemade style mini albums of trips that I still love to look at too.

I do most of my scrapping in 12x12 format, b/c it fits my style. I tend to slap a lot of photos on my pages, and the larger format gives me room to do both that and to play with techniques and embellishments and paper as well. But I sometimes take on a smaller format. Some of my travel books are in Sn@p 6x8 books. I did the journaling as I was on the trip, and then after returning home, I used the albums to pop in the photos and ephemera from the trip. I have done a few sets of challenges in smaller books as well. I have never done OLW but have done a few books with daily word prompts. I have one that began with Ali Edwards' Words to Live By prompts on line. I did another with Spring words I came up with, and another for 30 Days of Thankful. For those books, my focus has been on ways to represent the word of the day, and that might include a photo, but usually I use colour and pattern and journaling instead of a pic.

That one was a challenge. I like switching up. Keeps me from getting bored. The only thing I dont like about 12x12..heavy, bulky, dont fit in your lap. I'm much more likely to get someone to look at smaller ones. When I started sbing, 11x8 was the most popular size and I continued to do my family albums that size so they would be the same.

I'm making school books for my kids that are 8.5x11 and I have a couple of 8x8 albums in progress too. I never felt like I had enough room to play with embellishments in the 8.5x11 because I tend to use a lot of photos, but I do like the smaller size as far as storage goes. My OLW album is 8.5x11 as well.

Waving hi to everyone! Hope everyone is staying warm and dry that lives in cold weather country! It's icy and slick here this morning and what I want to do more than anything is call out and scrap. But working from home takes that option away lol. I want to scrap but it's been so long that I feel like I don't know where to start lol. I think I will just grab something unfinished later this evening and just do it. Hoping that will get the flow started like it does for grammadee. I hope everyone is doing well!

Good Wednesday morning, Pokeys! Hope you get your mojo jump started, joyfulnana. I have not been scrapping for just a few days and it feels like forever! Good to see all the creativity by nylene and msliz and @elaynef and and patin and justjac and LisaDV this month. Did I miss any Pokeys who are creating away? Still lots of month left! woodysbetty, how is the house planning going? I don't mind considering all the options in a situation like yours: the problem would be in making the DECISIONS! I hope you are taking lots of photos as you get used to your new community and plan your new home. And I hope those photos will find themselves onto pages you can share with us later. I have been busy putting all things Christmas away. It has been slowed down considerably by my wonky knee. Although it is "better" this week--as in not sending me sharp pains--it complains when going up or down stairs. And of course all the Christmas décor needs to go down into the basement, and the everyday ornamentation needs to come upstairs. I did a lot of trucking stuff up and down yesterday. The only thing left in the living room is the naked Christmas tree. Today I plan to just go down there and store stuff away into its containers. The plan is to store the tree and its decorations on TOP of everything else in that corner so it will be available first next winter, so when I have everything else stored away, I will get the tree down there and into its box. That might not happen until tomorrow. When the tree is gone I can also give the living room a good vacuum and move the furniture back to its normal position. My physio appointment was cancelled for Tuesday, but I have one for Friday, so I really want to have all the hauling around of stuff done before then. Dh seems to be feeling a bit better. Yesterday he took the tractor out and cleared some snow for an hour or so. I thought he would be going into town for coffee this morning, but he has decided to wait until tomorrow morning to do that. It seems like he will feel quite a bit better one day, and then the next, he wakes up achy again. He suffers from SAD, anyway, and this is not helping his outlook! Last year I gave him a SAD lamp for his birthday and he used it every day for a couple of months before putting it away. This year he has not even taken it out. I know it would not help with the chest congestion (which is gone) or the joint pain, but I really think it would help him cope, but... I think next year I will dig it out with the Christmas decorations at the beginning of December and maybe then he will use it when he needs it most. Okay. Time to venture down into the depths... BBL!

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all are having a good day, so far. My dh and I are preparing to go on a wedding anniversary trip this weekend. We love going to the hotel where we spent our wedding night. It is a beautiful beachy area with lots of shops and eateries. So I have some things to do around here to get ready. Tonight, I am taking our Christmas tree down and a little more cleaning. justlisa7 & nylene- I am excited to play round with those canvases. Still not sure what I will paint on them but I am sure something will pop up. joyfulnana- So sorry your Chiefs lost but that was a great game. Your young QB is gonna be thrilling to watch in the upcoming seasons. We are excited the Rams won but not sure we can beat The Great Tom Brady. He is pretty awesome I must say. I am just glad we made it this far. grammadee- I hope that knee gets better. Maybe when the weather warms up it will feel better too. nylene- I went to the craft group last Thursday and they were working on Valentine's projects. I look to see what they will be doing this week. I wish I had a card group like yours. I always like to here what your group is doing. Waving hello to all you Peas and have a restful evening!

Hi Everyone - popping in to say hello! I have been enjoying all of your lovely creations...you have been super busy!! It's amazing! We have made great progress with the house selections and I feel a lot less stressed. The designer was really lovely and helpful, which really makes the process much easier. Surprisingly they have given us a May 8th closing date and from what I hear they are always on time. It will feel great to be back in a home that has all our things unboxed!! My yoga practice is usually what keeps me grounded but my flighty self is fighting that!! LOL! Know that I think of you every day and I am so grateful for the happy vibes I get from each one of you!! Happy Scrapping!!

Good Morning and waving hi to everyone! kellyr21 Congrats on the Rams making it to the SB! I was sad my team lost, but it wasn't the same sadness as in past losses. Mahomes is just getting started, and I have no doubt the Chiefs will be in a championship game again. He's bringing me back to football lol. woodysbetty it's so good to hear from you! It sounds like things are going great and according to plan, hope you will post photos of the new place when you're in! grammadee my mojo is slowly returning. I'm so slow at making decisions. Or I will have most of a layout finished and then get an idea for it I like better and then have to try to execute that and I'm sure there's probably I class I could take to help me lol I'm on spending freeze and I noticed my mojo was directly tied to shopping, but I don't scrap fast enough to use all that I buy, but I still haven't shopped, and the mojo is coming back slowly on it's own so I'm happy about that. My photos are organized and I actually have a page going on the table so that's progress! I hope everyone has a lovely week and stays warm! Polar Vortex coming my way this week. Brrrrr!

joyfulnana - Thanks I will!! We did learn one thing from this process which cracks us both up - "We know exactly what we want until we change our mind"!! So the end result is really different than we originally expected!! I am looking forward to have pics to take!! kellyr21 - Yay for the Rams, my cousin from New York posted something that was funny...we are all Ram fans now !!

Sorry I've been MIA. grammadee, beautiful pages but especially the Christmas Eve Traditions I love the doily on the first page and the burlap on the second. I'm glad your knee is feeling a little better. How's was the physio appointment? I would start digging out the SAD lamp for your DH each year. I've been considering getting one or two for us, but hoping that the new area won't be so glummy and overcast each winter like here. I was wondering, does mainly everyone here scrapbook 12x12? Do you ever make separate vacation or Christmas or “Me” , OLW, Week in the Life, or whatever in 6x8 albums? I typically do 12x12 and will throw in some 8.5x11 or 8x8 pages too. I have different albums: DS, DD, DH, ME, Family, My side family/friends, his side family/friends, Us, Holidays, Family Selfies. I do have a 6x8 album for the chickens (ROFL - I'm a dork). I've done various mini albums in the past but tend to not do those any more. Although I think 8.5x11, 10x10, or 6x8 are great sizes for ease of storage and looking at. Did you enjoy your scrap day? kellyr21, Happy belated Anniversary!!! How was your weekend trip? "We know exactly what we want until we change our mind"!! I can totally relate to this! joyfulnana, I'm glad your mojo is starting to return. I was all ready to go at the beginning of the month but my mojo left me. nylene, how has your end of the month been? I usually check my propane every Tuesday. They don't want you to call until you are at 20%. Usually it's like 8-9% per week. Nope, we had one of the artic cold spells and I went from 44% to 22% in a week and 2 days. Then I forgot to check it a couple of days later when I I figured it would be okay to call. I check it yesterday afternoon and it was already at 14%, I called first thing this morning to have it filled. It was down another 2% in less than 24 hours. And, of course, it is snowing. I thought it was just a couple of inches received. Went out and NOPE, we have at least 10" from when our guy plowed yesterday. It was just blowing off of the cars. Since it was/is blowing, there are spots with that look like 2 feet, which is how my car got stuck while I was moving it today. (shaking head and sighing). DH is going to text our plow guy to have him get us plowed first thing in the am. The propane guys will not even attempt delivery if there is snow. We live in northern Michigan!!! What?! What a week to close (31st) and start prepping the new place! I spent today making 3 different batches of banana bread, banana oat muffins, and a chicken, broccoli, rice casserole for the freezer. I'll put a second batch of tonights dinner in the freezer as well. And hopefully make a batch of turkey, kale, carrot hash to freeze for one of our breakfasts during next week. I'm trying to freeze as many meals as I can since I won't have my pots and pans or want to take the time to cook while we're working. Having the oven on all day was a plus in this cold too. Especially as I've taken the thermostat down to 65 to wait for the propane delivery. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week / month. Hopefully, my mojo will return in February when we're back at the farm.

I guess propane will be one of the things you won't have to worry about in your new home, right, LisaDV? But you mentioned that you didn't plan to sell your home on the farm. Will you be able to shut it down completely/drain the pipes if you are not living there in the winter? Or is there a neighbour or someone you could hire to check the propane levels when you are not there? Hoping the snow storms out east are not causing too much trouble. Dd and her little guy spent the whole weekend either shoveling snow or playing in it. The little guy and the dog thought they were in heaven. Until now, every weekend has either been too cold to play outside or so warm that the snow has melted, but the two feet of snow that fell on the weekend was perfect for snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and tobogganing. I am glad dd sent me some photos to print tomorrow. Lots of activity by the Pokeys this month! Don't forget to add up your points and report them to LisaDV or msliz, whoever is on your team. Did you notice that the sign up thread has been posted for Teams in February? Dh ventured out for coffee in town today, and I spent the morning getting my hands all messy. I painted some chipboard pieces for a two pager I hope to finish on Wednesday. And collected the stuff I need for my canvases, found the paint, collage paper and gel medium. But by the time I had it all ready to go, I was not quite ready to decide exactly what I was going to do. Physio appointment tomorrow. The last one was just a presentation and a few stretching exercises. This one we will need to sign in to an on line tracking program. Don't think there will be much time for actual exercises tomorrow, but those will start on Friday. My knees are behaving as long as I am careful going up and down stairs and changing direction. Waving to everyone...

grammadee, I'm so sorry that your knees give you such fits. For someone as active as you, I'm sure it's a big inconvenience, but it could be your body's way of telling you to slow down a bit too. Did they say how long they think you will need to be in physio? Is this just postponing like nylene an eventual knee replacement? We won't have to worry about propane at the new place! Electric and natural gas! And I can get cable for my internet instead of a limited DSL plan. Huzzah! I've already spoken with our plumber. We plan to have him out after our last fall visit (either deer hunting or Thanksgiving) this year to drain everything. All of our neighbors are great though. One of them is our snow plow guy. He actually helped me get my car unstuck last night.

Happy Tuesday! Yesterday was our Wedding Anniversary! We celebrated 13 yrs and had a good time. Friday we went out of town and stayed at the same hotel we did on our first couple of nights of my Honeymoon. It was a restful trip. We shopped, dined, explored the area and rested. I took lots of pictures so I have something to scrap soon. Then yesterday, we spend our anniversary with my in-laws as they are celebrating their anniversary tomorrow. They took us out to an early dinner and of course we had to go to M's that was right near the restaurant. LOL! We had a very nice time. SO today I feel like I am on a vacay/anniversary hangover! LOL! I am tired but it is a good tired. After all that rich food, I am ready to get back to home cooking this week. Just wish I could wave a magical wand and the fresh food will magically appear! woodysbetty- Oh I am so glad to hear you have a designer. That should help a lot. I know you will be happy when it is all over. Yes, I am hoping the Rams win but we will have fun just enjoying the Superbowl. (Yes, I am trying to have a positive attitude cause I am really concerned. ) LOL! LisaDV- So glad your new home will be easily heated. That is a tough thing to have to rely on someone to refill your propane. Sending you some nice Cali sunshine and hope you all are nice and warm today. Hang in there Lisa! grammadee- Hope that exercise helps your knee. Take it easy. Waving to all you other Peas! Have a nice weekend!

Happy Anniversary, kellyr21! Sounds like you had a wonderful restful weekend. Physio was not difficult today. They did a starting activity level assessment. The program goes for 2 days per week for 12 weeks (11 more after this one) and they will do an assessment again at the end. How are you doing, nylene. Haven't heard from you here for awhile. Hope you and Steve are both okay. Hard to believe January is almost over. I have a couple of pages started, and photos and the pieces figured out for two more. Hoping to wrap them up tomorrow. Thursday I have a couple of appointments, and will be meeting justjac for supper. And then the month will be gone...

Hi everyone! Wanted to wish kellyr21 a belated Happy Anniversary!! And good luck to your team this weekend! Please beat the Patriots! I've seen that meme that woodysbetty saw and it made me laugh so hard! I think it may be close to the truth! nylene, I hope you are doing well! LisaDV - I hope you are staying safe and warm!! The weather is crazy there! Work has been crazy the last couple weeks. We were down one person in my department last week for trade shows and now today it will be just me due to the weather in Indiana. Just some of the perks of working remotely It's cold here but nothing like they are getting in the Great Lakes area. Off to work my 12 hour shift now (at least there is overtime and I will put that money in my scrap budget lol) Have a great day ladies!!

Sending you some nice Cali sunshine and hope you all are nice and warm today. I think your sunshine should arrive by the weekend. Yay! Propane was delivered and I bumped up the heat. I'm glad you and Ron had such a good anniversary trip. joyfulnana, great idea to put your OT into your scrap budget. Sorry you're short handed though. Closing is tomorrow and now with the weather I'm considering closing via docusign and going down on Friday. I'll have to wait and see what the temps are like tomorrow and make a decision. Playing it loosey-goosey is not my forte.

Hi, all. Sorry I have been absent. My dear friend (who hosts Card Club) lost her DD to pulmonary embolisms following a foot surgery. It has really hit my friend hard. I've tried to be around to help and add support. On top of that I tweaked my "good" knee which now feels like the bad knee. I am being so careful not to turn without turning my feet and hope it will heal and be as "good" as the "bad" knee.LOL I don't know how long I can hold on before having the replacement. grammadee , I hope the therapy will help yours. I have great empathy! I was determined to finish the 12 Days of Christmas challenges this month, but I am 3 short and have a busy week. I am happy with what I have done so far. kellyr21 , Congrats on your Anniversary. It sounds like such a nice, relaxing time together. I had to laugh at your needing to return to home cooking after eating rich food at a restaurant. I am just the opposite. I'd love to never cook again!! I made a huge batch of Potato Soup today to take to my friend who still has family around. I hope what I made for us will last for lunches all week. I need to get busy. I will try to get back on tonight to see the many, many projects you Pokeys have done since I was here. Hugs to each of you.

Good to hear from you nylene , but so sad to hear about your friend's dd. I am sure you are a huge comfort to her. And my knees are sending "Oh yeah, I understand" messages to your knees. One of the things this physio class is working on is keeping the knees aligned properly, not twisting when we move. I am thinking, "Good luck with that: my knees are stubborn". I am done creating for the month. After a very slow December, I was able to scrap a LOT this month. Have finished 39 pages and 2 cards. Will share the last page and the last card tomorrow evening. Here are four of my favorite pages from this month. I will be claiming points for the Pokey challenge for this as well as points for putting my pages in albums. family photo shoot farm by Gramma Dee, on Flickr young chefs by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

nylene, hugs to you! I hope your good knee heals quickly. ...Your poor friend! I am sure your friendship and help has been a comfort to her. grammadee, adorable pages!! Well, I couldn't do docu-sign for the closing. If I had known about the weather ealier I could have printed them, signed in front of a notary and mailed them back in time for today's closing. As such, I have to be there. So we're taking off this morning and hoping for decent roads and good car karma. Don was ready to postpone until Monday as he's nervous about me driving in the weather. He even offered to come home last night and drive us down today. LOL. I told him that might be a bit excessive. I'll just take it slow and steady. The good news is the snow system is on it's way out. And by tomorrow the temps should start increasing to over freezing this weekend!! I did tell DH that I checked the weather app the other morning. At the time of my checking, our wind chill was like -22 with a winter storm warning flag. His wind chill was -28 with a winter storm warning and a wind chill warning. My sister (southern Illinois) wind chill was a 2 with a wind chill advisory. I told him I guess if you live north of the most sourthern part of Canada, they think you should just expect wind chill. You don't get an warning. lol. OK. Off to make final preparations to leave. See you in February Pokeys!
