I have and would in appropriate situations. I would never chase after someone unless it was Aaron Paul. All bets are off then I have bumped into Lyle Lovett, was in line with comedian Jeffrey Ross in Chicago once, and have seen/made eye contact/nodded at a few others. I have also met celebrities and musicians in situations where we had backstage passes or meet and greet passes. Those situations I make sure my camera is ready!

I have talked to celebrities when it was natural to do so. I would never go out of my way to approach someone famous. I'm a private person and while I may get a tad star struck once in a while, I'd never want to impose on someone's personal time.

I had the good fortune to meet and greet Bill Cosby and Tim Allen when I worked backstage security for their concerts. I got to welcome them in (separate occasions). Did a dance with Tim Allen as I was trying to let him through, lol. Awkward. He didn't say much. Bill Cosby was much friendlier. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a picture them with them since I was working. We don't get many celebrities on the street here in our little college town, but if I saw one (and recognized them), I don't know if I'd have the nerve to go talk to them. One of my close friends has worked security for several of our stadiums/arenas for years. She has met many celebrities One of her favorites is Jon Bon Jovi, they were at the Key for a while getting ready for their tour.

actors and actresses are a dime a dozen here in l.a. both A-list and D-list celebs. at lunch I was at the Highway Patrol station amending a report and this actress was there trying to get her report. I recognized her from that movie she did with Mark Wahlburg years ago. www.imdb.com/name/nm0001217/?ref_=tt_cl_t8I live near two major studios so they are everywhere and no, I wouldn't approach or talk to them.

I wouldn't intentionally. My DH and I were on our honeymoon in Maui in 98 and we were looking at the shops in town and this kid comes around the corner and walks right into me. There I was looking eye to eye (i'm only 5'3..) with Jonathan Taylor Thomas. He was a pretty big deal at that time with Tool Time. Of course I YELLED because I was surprised and caught off guard and said "JONATHON TAYLOR THOMAS!!". He quickly walked away from me and down the street, which I don't blame him. DH just shook his head and laughed, you scared the kid away. I did eat at a table next to Joe Montana in Napa. I did not approach him, but slipped away to call my DH to ask him.."guess who I'm sitting next to..your favorite football player of all time...??". I knew he lived in Napa and was out with his family and probably didn't want to be disturbed. I met Joe Montana and Marcus Allen when they played for KC. I thought they were both assholes. Joe Montana asked me if I knew who he was... I just laughed and said yes... ICK!

I think it would depend on the situation. If I saw Bill Cosby on the street, I would love to thank him for his dedication to education. My kids went to Temple University and he is still so involved there. We have seen him at events and around campus, but always at a distance.
My DS has a friend that seems to have a knack for running into celebrities. When he is with her, he always seems to meet someone famous. He is also a big DMB fan. After one of their concerts, a band member tweeted where he would be hanging out after the show. DS and his friends went and met him. Got pictures and an autograph. DS tweeted a thank you to him and the band member started following him on twitter. I am sure he follows thousands of people but it made DS's day.
