I haven’t felt well in a couple of weeks and everything I accomplished over the holidays had been undone since I had barely had the energy to make it to my bed after work.
i found out Fri that my job will probably end 2/1, so I knew I had to get my meal planning under control. I had 2 pork butts in the outside fridge that I thought might have gone bad. I went online and found out that cryo vacd meats are good for 45-60 days past the sale by date! My meat was nowhere near that far past date.
saturday I made sourdough pancakes for breakfast then got my kitchen sorted out. I made ramen eggs in my new, freshly opened IP, then peeled them and put them in the soy sauce marinade. I cooked half of one of the butts in apple juice concentrate. Dinner was pulled pork bbq. I made homemade garlic mayo to use in my slaw. DH said it was my best bbq ever.
Today I started out with cinnamon rolls. New recipe, nothing went right, but they tasted great. Got the rest of the 1st pork butt cooked with a charshu marinade to use in ramen. I over cooked it, so it falls apart. I got all the containers for flour, salt, sugar, etc, filled and ready to go. DD ran into the grocery store for me before she came over. She did her shopping in Mom’s Pantry. I made baba ganoush for snacks this week and I cut up veggies to dip in it. Dinner for DH was bbq again and I made ramen for me.
So, I have things to freeze for at least 4 maybe 6 future meals, all my veggies are prepped and ready to go and I have a plan for what I’m cooking each night with backups just in case. This might not sound like much, but not eating out stops a huge leak in my budget and is much better for DH’s kidneys.
What at did you do this weekend? How do you get things done, especially if you don’t feel well or just don’t want to adult?

Been working on it for a couple weeks but just finished today matching pictures from the last four years to scrapbook paper! I’m ready for at least the next 8-10 scrapbook retreats. It filled three huge tote bags with matched kits.

I didn’t even get caught up on my tv watching. That’s how freaking tired I was.

Thirty-two pages of kits made into pages ready for pictures and about 30% of my closet in a bag in the garage ready to go to Goodwill.

I took down Christmas. :-( The upside is that I leave Wednesday afternoon for a long weekend adventure (just me!!) in Nashville with my sister! I haven't gone on a solo adventure longer than one night in 14+ years! (Son is 14.) Cannot wait!

I feel very lazy and probably could have stayed in bed all day, both days. Instead, I did get some stuff done: - took down Christmas decorations outside - prepared and planted the front beds for spring - prepped the soil and planted a bunch of poppies and sweet peas for early spring bloom - Hiked 5 miles each day and did a session with my personal trainer - registered my middle kid for the SAT, SAT subject tests AND the ACT (Junior year is hard!) - just tried to research which schools my senior needs to send mid-year reports to (Senior year is hard!) - took my youngest out to sushi just he and I - vacuumed, cleaned etc.

Saturday was a lazy day for DH and I. He went to his office to do paperwork and I lounged around. Last night was date night, so we went for sushi and a trip to Best Buy and Sephora. Today I cleaned house and did laundry. LOTS of laundry. I got my menu planned for the week and a grocery list made. This week we are eating out of the freezer so I won't have much on my grocery list.

I corrected papers for 20 hours. 20 freaking hours. This big project at the end of the term kills me. And I will put in 14+ hour days every day this week. Good thing I love the kids.

Today i reseeded my front lawn. Raking in the compost/manure was no fun. After that I moved on to the back yard and did some weeding and raking of fallen leaves in the planters. I'm sore as hell right now but I'm happy to have gotten it done before the rains come tomorrow.
The weekend wasn't all work. Friday DH and I strolled around Disneyland for a few hours. Saturday we went to the Rams playoff game. Today was yard work even though it's our 28th anniversary. Lol. We decided to postpone our steak house dinner until Tuesday because we had so much going on this weekend.

I went through my paper pile and have it back down to one small box to file, the rest is either recycled or ready to shred. I also got two small bags of clothes ready to donate. Straightened the house and had a friend over for lunch on Saturday. Otherwise had a nice relaxing weekend that was much needed

Got a rental car to drive while mine is being repaired from a deer collision Tuesday last week. Made a dinosaur hoodie for my nephew. Designed and cut out on my cameo 11 superhero cape iron ons. Ordered my heatpress, will be here Wednesday. Stripped and made 3 beds which contributed heavily to the 7 loads of laundry I did over 2 days.

I got to enjoy the winter weekend we had. I hate heat. It was 11c here and clear and this was the weekend I love to think about in July. It sounds corny but today and yesterday even though I am under the weather was awesome!!!

Vacuumed and mopped my whole house. Cleaned some of the grout, washed all my dh’s work rags (we own a window cleaning biz), finished my Valentines Day wreath that I started three years ago, butterflied a package of chicken that I got at Sam’s (trimmed, my ass), dusted my living room and dining room. I’m glad I did it all. I feel accomplished.

Cleaned out the fridge & pantry - then made a mental note to stop buying food we're not going to eat!

We hung LED lights, a Christmas present, around the boathouse and I had to make a quick (40 min oneway) to COSTCO for another box. We finished just as the rain was arriving! I unloaded the last seven of our moving boxes - can I get an AMEN??? I also went through the file cabinet and ended up with quite a stack to be burned with the boxes.

My sister is coming for a visit - nothing like house guests to get things done. DD12 and I cleaned out the refrigerator, dusted thoroughly. Today our handyman is coming to fix some things that have long needed fixing. I've got stuff planned each evening until she comes.

I bought a lamp shade. Which led to tearing the old 1990's wallpaper off the wall, repainting it, painting the ceiling and now i am pretty sure I need a new rug, chair and curtains. Moral of this story is never buy a new lamp shade.

My husband will be home tomorrow from Afghanistan. He hasn’t been home and we haven’t seen him in 15 months!!! I’ve been trying to clean and organize stuff around the house that have been neglected that long, primarily his closet. It became the catch-all for things that I didn’t know what to do with. I finally found the floor of it last night . I also went through and destroyed about 20lbs. of old receipts - that’s a huge accomplishment. I’m bad about letting them build up.

I got all of the Christmas stuff packed up and ready to go out to the shed (it was pouring yesterday). That is always such a relief.
I got my laundry washed and folded.
I scrapbooked my new granddaughter's birth photos on Sat and gave the album to her parents last evening. It had the entire pregnancy and her hospital photos all documented. I told them I will add to it as the baby has pics taken with relatives and friends, and start volume 2.
I caught up on my recorded shows for the week.
And, my biggest achievement: I washed all of the new parents' dirty dishes by hand. I never wash dishes unless I am at the shore with my mom. I just can't stand it and DH always does it. But when I saw the new parents didn't have a clean dish or utensil, I rolled up my sleeves and managed to slosh water all over my shirt and got everything scrubbed. My son had never seen me wash a dish, haha!

I went scootering both Saturday and Sunday. We did six miles each day and my dog is understanding his commands better. Most of my pictures are too large to share and they are hard to resize on my iPad. But this is my dog Ryder and me in my new orange safety jacket

I did mountains of laundry, cleaned one bathroom, ironed, made a big pot of chili, served hospitality at church, and did a little scrapbooking.
