Boston something and possibly with twins in the name. She was so arrogant—she got called out for it often yet she kept on! Snooty! I have to admit I’m confused. $6k a month budget may sound like a lot, but depending on where you live and what your expenses are (say medical, big school loans)...that can go fast. I think that was what she was spending on books.

The thing I remember about the "Boston..." lady with the adopted twins was that about a year before she even adopted a baby she had started to take drugs to stimulate lactation, she was pumping multiple times a day and had a freezer full of breast milk long before she even had a confirmed adoption. There was also a post about her being pissed off that no-one had given her a baby shower...even though at that stage there was no baby and not even a potential adoption.
It also sounded very much like she had a gray market adoption as she'd previously posted a couple of adoption agencies hadn't found any babies for her. I think I recall that the birth parents were military and it sounded a bit like they had the babies in order to "adopt" (sell) them.

She also was going to go after her sister or SIL who wanted to circumcise her son and thought bostonians were more enlightened. Then someone said unlike us rubes in the fly over states. (Exact words). Boston Mom was mad. It was very interesting.

The fights before Presidential elections were epic. And I remember that there were a lot of cliques and board darlings. It was never boring!

I didn't know Crafter Beth and alohaaroha got run off? Sweet people posting about sewing and running marathons? What were they picked on for?
It's kind of amazing any of us are still here if that can happen.

"Self-enchanted" I love it. Going to start using that phrase. You must have missed the recent thread calling out Trollie for selling her nail stickers...it all went down there. The speculation was it's the OP who started that thread: LINKI started reading that thread when it appeared, and I stopped because it reminded me way too much of an old-school top-tier pea pile-on. Complete with teams, professions of love, "I know more than you do" brags, and threats. And neither has posted since...coincidence?? I think not

I also remember a pea Tracy(?) who was asking for donations or gifts from her “followers”
I think it was Tracy Claiborne ?
She was very off putting by asking/suggesting/not-so-subtle soliciting donations for herself from her listeners, and doing it under the guise of Jesus and being blessed. Like God has favored her as THE special one.
I believe she was finally run off the refupeas as peas were calling her out on it.
From her blog...
“I'll end this long story by saying we are still negotiating with the hospital on the cost of the surgery. I have a big stack of bills on my desk but we haven't paid any of them yet. The money donated ($8K) by my friends and listeners is still set aside and we will apply it to what we owe as soon as we figure out what that amount is. I found out today that the discounts we were promised were not applied so we are working with a financial counselor to get the final cost. Right now it's quite a bit more than we thought it would be but I am hoping we can get the cost down. It really doesn't worry me, God has brought me this far and will work it out for me.
“I'm working my way through the list of donors and sending thank you e-mails, crying, reading their notes to me on each donation, saying they are praying for me and wishing me well. I should have sent them sooner but the last seven weeks, I was in so much pain, my life kind of fell apart around me. I faked it a lot of the time, taping podcasts and posting on Instagram and talking in our group and going about my life but my family and Tiffany will tell you, I couldn't even have a meal without moaning. I was miserable! I am just so glad to be through it all. I have experienced chronic pain before, after my last surgery, but this was a new level of horror.
The thing that has kept me going through it all, other than the grace and peace of God, is my family and friends, both local and online. I've received so many cards and messages and kindness from so many people. I thank God for the life I've been given. He's been talking to me about how I can repay people for their kindness and I feel Him urging me to give things away like classes and content and my life, as much as I can. I have plans to do just that!”

I think her name was Bemis or something like that. I remember who you’re talking about. The country music pea mentioned who had the bff having an affair with her not so dh loved Chris Young, who wasn’t well known at the time but has made a name for himself in recent years. I keep thinking about crafterbeth who ran marathons. I think she was from Nova Scotia and had stopped posting before the board closed. No controversy just a pea I enjoyed. This is has been quite the walk down memory lane. For a lot of the early stuff I was a lurker. I was very active on the CKMB and used to go to 2ps when it was quiet at CK but the peas terrified me! I liked Crafterbeth too, She was a great scrapper, fellow Canadian and I found her marathon postings very inspiring. She also taught me how to tie a pair of runners the right way for my feet. Other peas piled on her about her running and she left, and I lost track of her when I was ill. anyone remember something about zebra leggings and sequins and going to a. Family reunion to get cozy with a cousin? Weird eh? Wasn't it Les Merlot or something like that who was in love with her cousin?

I remember the marathon runner, though I don't remember any specific ousting. What I do to recall is that no matter the topic, she would reference her marathoning, whether it related or not. While tiresome, it was also unintentionally funny, but I can see how it could have been perceived as attention-seeking. "What is your favorite color?" "Well, I like navy blue, but it's not very visible when I'm out running, so I wear neon pink. That's what I'll be wearing on Saturday when I do my 400th marathon. On Sunday, I'll run my 401st, but I don't know what color I'm wearing for that one yet. Monday is a rest day, so I'll only do 10 miles -- so lazy!"

Her daughter was a cheerleader and she also had a younger son. She left the board for a while, then came back to say she had discovered her DH had been having an affair for 11 years. She disappeared soon after.

IIRC the whitewater rafting photo was a stock photo, and the HOF rules said you had to use a photo that you took yourself. Yes, she happened to have this amazing white water rapid photo as they went over the rapids that was featured on her LO, and claimed she set up her tripod, and people were like, oh, you hiked out to this EXACT spot and knew exactly when you would pass by? IIRC There was also a way the peas found raw photo data that showed the type of camera took the picture, and bc winners had to list thier camera equipment, or somehow peas knew what she used - it didn't match whatever camera took the photo. I also thought that Cristina effer chick had won that same year, or maybe the year after, and she too had a photo that was not taken by herself. And she went off the rails when that was brought up. I also remember DD bird-gate - was she the one who wouldn't refund a sick pea's money for a crop or a class or something? And the pea had cancer? (wasn't just a cold) Yes!!! These scandals really turned me off to scrapbooking. The lies and the cheating from both the applicants and by the editors over at Creating Keepsakes. It came out that towards the end they were picking designers to win before they even opened the contest so the whole thing was just a giant scam. Just telling the designers, “oh, you’re going to win, just turn in your pages. The rules don’t matter.” Such bullshit.

I remember TwoPeas being super salty about the NSBR board, basically calling us freeloaders when things got bad. Essentially, they accused the NSBR people of using the boards and never buying anything. I mean, I tried to buy stuff, but all the good stuff was always out of stock because they didn't know how to run a business.

I felt like scrapbooking as an industry and as a community just fell apart after that. The magazines stopped, the special editions stopped, the book deals all gone, the “celebrity” scrapbookers, all the stores, the conventions. It all just dissolved so fast.

And there was the Pea who also had foster children that she home- schooled. One child was having to attend school ( not her choice) and she posted asking for advice on "bullet proof backpacks". ! And I think she nicknamed the little boy "Coffee or Cocoa" which caused mayhem as it seemed to be based on the colour of his skin. Corinne Scrapperjess nicknamed the boy "Latte".

I don't think this has been mentioned yet. There was a group of non-NSBR ladies that came over from the scrap board and opened a thread on NSBR and put in the title that is was a private thread and only they could participate on it. Yeah, that didn't go over very well. They had a name for their group, somthing with Divas I think? Does anybody remember this?

It's kind of amazing any of us are still here if that can happen. I don’t remember Crafter Beth being run off, exactly. I was a part of some running and 5k/marathon training threads in which she and a few other avid runners were very active. I believe she thought she was being encouraging in her posts about running, but I think it struck some people as a bit obsessive and out of touch. If memory serves, someone got a little irritated and pointed out that running and training for marathons isn’t truly something every single person can do easily, if at all. I don’t remember a pile on, but I think Beth’s feelings were hurt and she was gone after that.
